Strongest Lottery System in Pokémon World

Chapter 7: Strongest Lottery System in Pokémon World [7]

Chapter 7: Misty

"Eevee, use Tail Whip!"

Crash!

A small Rattata tumbled to the ground, defeated, adding to Eevee's growing combat experience.

In this real world, the concept of "experience points" from games didn't quite apply. It was better to call it battle experience—hard-earned through victories.

Eevee trotted back to Marcel's side, flicking its tail confidently and grooming its fur.

"Eevee!"

This marked the sixth Pokémon Eevee had defeated on their journey so far. None of the wild Pokémon they encountered—Rattata, Caterpie, or Pidgey—stood a chance against Eevee's prowess.

"Eevee's strength is remarkable," Marcel muttered, impressed.

The fighting talent Eevee displayed far exceeded Marcel's expectations. Thinking back to Eevee's aloofness when they first met, he couldn't help but chuckle. Perhaps Eevee had simply dismissed novice trainers as beneath it.

Opening the system panel, Marcel reviewed his current task:

[Task: Behind every trainer are countless wild Pokémon left defeated.]

[Details: Defeat fifty wild Pokémon (6/50) before arriving in Viridian City.]

[Reward: Normal Lottery Ticket ×1]

The task had appeared on his system earlier, prompting Marcel to begin his streak of battles against these weaker Pokémon.

"Fifty Pokémon… This is going to take forever," Marcel sighed.

It had already taken him over an hour to find and defeat six Pokémon. Most of the others fled the moment they saw him, while some simply ignored his challenges altogether.

"At this rate, I'll have to camp here overnight," Marcel muttered, frustrated.

Giving up wasn't an option. But completing the task would mean an entire day of scouring the area to find enough Pokémon.

"Bulbasaur, I need your help. Keep an eye out for wild Pokémon in the woods."

He released Bulbasaur from its Poké Ball, and the dependable Grass-type joined the hunt. With Bulbasaur's assistance, Marcel's efficiency improved significantly.

As Bulbasaur used Vine Whip to retrieve a fleeing Rattata, preparing to finish it off with Razor Leaf, a rustling sound came from the nearby trees.

"Who's there?" Marcel called out, his tone wary.

Next to him, Eevee pricked up its ears, equally on guard.

In the wild, Pokémon attacks on humans weren't uncommon, so caution was always warranted.

Under Marcel's watchful gaze, the bushes parted, and a girl stepped out. She had bright orange hair, a yellow crop top, denim suspenders, and carried a fishing rod.

"Excuse me, have you seen a boy riding a bike with a Pikachu?" she asked.

Marcel blinked in surprise. "Misty?"

He recognized her instantly. The fiery, water-loving gym leader of Cerulean City, and a key figure in the Pokémon series. Judging from her words, she seemed to be searching for Ash, who had taken her bike.

If he remembered correctly, Ash was likely being pursued by a flock of Spearow at this moment.

"I haven't seen him," Marcel replied honestly, "but I think I know who you're looking for."

"You know him? That's great!" Misty exclaimed, relieved. "That boy took my bicycle, and I need to get it back! Can you help me contact him?"

Marcel resisted the urge to laugh. Your bike might already be a lost cause, he thought but kept his expression neutral.

"He doesn't have a phone," Marcel explained. "But if you want to find him, we could start at Professor Oak's lab. He's one of the new trainers from there."

Misty looked uncertain for a moment, weighing her options.

"How about this?" Marcel suggested, an idea forming in his mind. "I'll help you track him down."

His thoughts drifted to the flock of Spearow chasing Ash. If he defeated them, it would count toward his task, and he could also fulfill Professor Oak's request to look out for Ash.

Misty's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "You're not some kind of weirdo trying to abduct girls, are you?"

Marcel's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Do I look like a bad guy to you?"

He glanced down at his neatly pressed clothes and clean appearance. Surely, he didn't scream "villain," right?

Misty studied him carefully before muttering, "You do look a bit suspicious."

Marcel sighed and pulled out his Pokédex to prove his credentials. It worked not differently than an ID card, there was even a message from Professor Oak to prove his credibility further.

Realizing her mistake, Misty blushed and quickly apologized.

"Fine! But let's hurry. If we take too long, my bike might be in worse shape than it already is!"

Marcel smirked and threw out a Poké Ball. Misty gasped as a massive Metagross materialized in front of them, its sheer size causing two nearby trees to crash to the ground and scattering wild Pokémon in every direction.

"That's a Metagross!" Misty exclaimed, recognizing the Hoenn region's pseudo-legendary Pokémon immediately.

"Wait, aren't you supposed to be a new trainer?" she asked suspiciously.

Marcel didn't answer directly. Instead, he climbed onto Metagross and offered her a hand. "Are you coming or not?"

Misty hesitated for a moment but realized she had little choice. Even if Marcel had ulterior motives, she doubted she'd stand a chance against someone who commanded a Metagross.

With a resigned sigh, she grabbed his arm and climbed on.

"Let's go, Metagross! Find a boy with a Pikachu!"

"Buzz—!"

Metagross acknowledged the command and lifted off, flying high above the trees. It scanned the area briefly before locking onto a target and shooting off at incredible speed.

Meanwhile, Ash stood protectively in front of Pikachu, arms outstretched as he yelled at a furious flock of Spearow, desperately trying to fend them off.
