Strike the Blood: The 4th Primogenitor

Third Person PoV

The gang of friends-cum-blood servants, except Yukina was patiently waiting at the airport for Yuuma to arrive.

"So senpai, Yuuma-san is your childhood friend?" Yukina asked.

"Yes, she also played basketball with me." Kojou answered.

"You want to see a picture? Here!" Nagisa showed the picture to Kanon and Yukina.

She showed a picture of her, Kojou and Yuuma dressed in a basket ball court.

"Is she a boy?"

"No, she is a tomboy." Kojou answered Yukina's query.

"Um? What is a tomboy?" Yukina said meekly.

While hearing that Nagisa began explaining what the term meant. Kojou looked at Kanon and asked.

"Are fine now, Kanon?"

"Hai, Onii-san."

"Good." Kanon blushed hearing Kojou praise her.

"Kojou!"

A feminine voice suddenly came from above and startled the group. But everyone in this group had good reflexes due to one reason or another.

Kojou looked above, he sensed a magic similar to Natsuki-chan's and saw a girl jumping on top of him.

In that short moment of time he had already seen the appearance of the girl,

Short brown hair that has long bangs obscuring most of her forehead with a center bang covering the center of her face and purple eyes.

A purple tomboyish dress and a smile on her face.

Kojou caught the girl in his hands, like a princess and said with some surprise.

"Yuuma?"

"It's been ages! You look well, Kojou!"

The girl in his arms, now identified as Yuuma, said cheerfully. Kojou lowered his childhood friend down and said.

"Was jumping on top of me necessary?"

"I went a bit overboard."

"Yuu-chan, long time no see!" Nagisa said coming near to Yuuma.

"You've gotten so beautiful, Nagisa-chan, I didn't recognize you!"

Yuuma was able to match the liveliness of Nagisa with ease.

Asagi as always was unfazed by that but Yukina and Kanon were surprised by the beauty of Yuuma.

"Yuuma, meet them. That is Asagi, my girlfriend. These two are Kanon and Yukina, Nagisa's friends."

The ones introduced one by one nodded her head, except Asagi she only looked straight at Yuuma.

"Ara~ Kojou went and got himself a girl, never took you for the ladies man."

"It just happened."

"And only girls are here, by chance are you a playboy? You really grew up."

"Stop making assumptions on your own."

The light banter was enjoyed by Kojou and Yuuma.

"I am Tokoyogi Yuuma, nice to meet you all!"

Finally Yuuma introduced herself to the others.

"Onii-san we are now going to the festival?"

"Yes we are. Look at that Nagisa, even Kanon calls me Onii-san."

"Don't take the kindness of Kanon-chan for granted, only someone like her can be this kind."

Nagisa said in a formal tone. Kojou only sighed at that and moved ahead. The others giggled at that.

The four of them reached keystone gate, although its underground part was for only authorised personnel of the island management, the top and other levels were open for public use.

Many attractions were inside the keystone gate, especially at the top from where the entire island was visible.

The 'Kojou-gang' as Asagi called the people present, reached there to enjoy the Halloween Festa, as at night this place becomes too crowded.

The gang toured many places inside the keystone gate. Like the Demon district museum.

It was full of information about the notable things that had happened in the short time passed since the formation of Itogami Island.

There was a special corner dedicated to the oldest vampire hunters of Japan. which were just therianthropes and attack mages.

Some people also cosplayed as them, although Kojou's glare most probably made them change their costume for the night parade.

While the others enjoyed this, Kojou was catching up with Yuuma. Part of this was to know what changed with his friend and another was to check if he had sensed correctly at the airport.

"It's been 4 years since we last met. You haven't changed much even in such a long period of time."

"Really? I think I have become a bit more girly since then!"

Yuuma said, emphasising her bosom, with her hands. Kojou looked at them and said,

"Maybe, a little."

'I wasn't wrong. She does have something like Natsuki-chan, what could it be? A Guardian?'

"Sorry for that! What about you? I don't see any change in you either!"

"I have Yuuma, but it isn't seen easily, maybe you will get to see it someday."

Kojou said with hidden meaning and gauged Yuuma's reaction, if she knew about his hidden identity.

Seeing no change in her face, he calmed a little bit down.

'It doesn't seem that she knows about me being the 4th Primogenitor, maybe her mother was a witch and she inherited the guardian in the four years we were apart. I can give her the benefit of doubt.'

Kojou was now out of his stressed state of mind, he initially thought that someone was impersonating Yuuma.

But this isn't the case, but he overlooked one crucial detail. He couldn't sense if she had the familiar back when they lived together, he wasn't a vampire then.

He also didn't meet Yuuma's mother once, but he simply thought she lived overseas or as a witch didn't want to meet him.

Just then Yuuma was called by Nagisa for a girls group photo. Yumma went ahead leaving Kojou to ponder on his thoughts.

They enjoyed the festival a little more and sat down in the cafe. The middle schoolers at one table and the remaining three at one table.

"Was Kojou always an idiot? I mean he has always been one since I've known him."

"Yeah, but he seems to have gained some game for himself."

His girlfriend and childhood friend were not a good combination for his dignity, soon his embarrassing acts were revealed by Yuuma, one by one.

Finally they reached the top of the keystone gate and it was beautiful. Its floor was made of glass on the outer periphery, with glass walls too.

Yuuma, Asagi, Kanon and Nagisa went near the circumference and watched the city from high up.

Kojou followed them behind but noticed the lack of a guitar case carrying middle schooler. Seeing Yukina lag behind, Kojou talked to her.

"It's like we are floating, isn't it?" Yukina said, seeing Kojou eye her.

"You and your Acrophobia, come here!" Kojou said to her, and offered his hand.

"I don't have a phobia! I am just worried about the strength of the glass, what if it breaks?"

Kojou sighed at her stubbornness and said.

"If you don't trust the strength of the glass then trust me, it wouldn't let anyone die, even if it breaks. Now come on, Nagisa is waiting."

Yukina took his hands with a weird look on her face.

"What now?"

"Nothing, just that sometimes you can be so scary that you would beat up a kouhai, a cute kouhai, but now you say something heroic like this."

"Listen, I didn't beat Kanon just for that, alright it was a miscalculation, and I am heroic."

Yukina just giggled at that, soon Nagisa came and took her away for seeing their school.

Yuuma walked up to him and asked looking towards Yukina.

"Are you having an affair behind Asagi-chan's back?"

"'Asagi-chan'? So close already? And no."

"Really she was looking at you worryingly all the time at the Cafe."

"Really? She was? But still no, Asagi would kill me if I do something like that, even if I had an affair Asagi would know about it beforehand."

"Is that so, good for you for having such a girlfriend, what does she do?"

"A part-timer."

"At where?"

"Ask her." Kojou avoided the question.

"I see."

Ans Yuuma went towards Asagi, most probably to find an answer to her question.

Just as she walked away, Kojou's phone rang. He loked at the caller and saw a familiar name.

Kirasaka Sayaka.

"What happened now?"

He picked up the phone and was greeted by someone he didn't think he would see or hear for a long time.

"It's me." A different but familiar voice touched Kojou's ears. He answered to the best of his capability.

"Mario?"

Silence, and some seconds later.

"No, Kojou its me, La Folia, you were saved under the favorite section in Sayaka's contacts."

"Oh, I would be surprised if I wasn't under favorites by now."

By then the phone was snatched from the hand and Sayaka came to line.

"Hello, Akatsuki Kojou just so you-"

"Leave your lies which are unconvincing to yourself, tell me why is La Folia who is supposed to be in Aldegyr still here."

"Well you see…"

Kojou out of the corner of his eye saw Asagi also getting a phone call and she seemd stressed hearing the content of the call.

She was also walking towards him.

…

"So you warped from the airport to the subfloat? Those two are on the opposites sides of the island."

Kojou said hearing Sayaka's situation.

"Yes, we also don't know what happened. Everytime we cross a door we end up at a different place."

"Send me your location right now and don't move. I will try to come there."

Kojou said and cut the phone by then Asagi was also near him, and so was Yukina.

Yuuma and the remains two were busy seeing the scene from the top.

"Class 3 district defense system was activated, it seems I would be not be able to come home till late night, Kojou."

"La Folia and Kirasaka are also in a problematic situation. Try not to cross any doors on your way there, it seems you get randomly warped to somewhere else."

Kojou explained the situation in brief.

"I see, I will try to help. The class 3 alert must be because of this, I will contact you after I have figured out something."

Asagi went after telling him that, just as she boarded the elevator, another one opened and Astarte walked out of it.

"Senpai, is Sayaka-san and the princess safe?"

"Yes they are, but it seems we have more problems on top of the current ones. Why are you here, Astarte?"

"Situation report. Following this morning's 9 o'clock schedule call, I have lost contact with the instructor."

"Now the one person well versed in spatial magic is missing? We are really screwed if we don't find a way out." Kojou said.

"Affirmative. All signals from the instructor have been lost. I such cases I have been ordered to assign priority protection to Kanase Kanon."

"It would seem that our holiday had come to an end. Astarte, go with Yukina to her home, Kanon will be there too. Yukina, take Nagisa and Yuuma with you too. Astarte, also protect Nagisa."

"Accept."

"Did Minamiya-sensei foresee her disappearance?" Yukina questioned.

"Unknown, I do not have data to answer that."

"Yukina follow what I said, I will come back after I find La Folia and Kirasaka."

"Hai, senpai!"

Kojou left handling the situation here to Astarte and Yukina and went somewhere secluded.

Reaching a place where no one could see him, he checked his phone and saw the location and used his mist to teleport.

Instead of finding himself on the top of a building like Sayaka had messaged, Kojou found himself in an alleyway where two therianthropes were robbing a woman.

'Wait she seems familiar,...Veldiana?'

"Oye, you two, fuck off!"

The two beasts turned towards him and sneered.

"Look a hero?"

"Let's rob him as well."

'Well I didn't have a single good memory about a therianthrope.'

Before the beast could approach him, Kojou rushed at them and knocked them out in one hit each.

"Wait, you are that guy who flirted with me but didn't accept it!"

The chocolate haired vampire said, looking at Kojou's face.

"No, I was not flirting, but what are you doing here? You are a vampire for God's sake, how did you get almost robbed by two therianthropes?"

Just then Kojou's senses caught a whiff of some strange smell and he saw Veldiana hide her arm, but he saw the needle marks in them.

"Drugs?"

"What do you want, you just talked to me for a moment, it doesn't concern you!"

"Alright, how about a date? After the alert is over?"

"What! Really? But what alert?"

"I have a friend in the island management and he told me that there was going to be an alert, apparently there's some problem, so try to stay away from the doors and do not go through them, I did go through one and here I am!"

Kojou lied a bit in his answer.

"I see, I will wait for the alert to end."

"Alright, then I have places I need to be."

Saying so Kojou ran away, leaving the chocolate haired girl to wallow in despair.

"He still didn't tell me his name! Again!"

Kojou while walking towards his home, dialled Sayaka's number and waited for her to pick up.

"Hello! Sayaka?"

"Yes, Kojou?"

"Listen carefully, space around Itogami island has been distorted completely, I can't teleport, I ended up in a dubious alley. Try to stay in a hotel, but try to reach there by passing through as less doors as you can."

"I understand."

"If you successfully do that, stay there, in case of emergency try to move around through rooftops, it will be safer that way."

"Why can't you come here that way?" La Folia's voice asked him.

"The witch of the void has gone missing, Asagi has been called to the island management, my childhood friend is at my house, alongwith Kanon and Nagisa. If something happens, Himeragi alone would not be able to handle it, I need to be there."

He didn't infirm them about Astarte just yet.

"Wouldn't it be better if we all were at one place, you could make a fortress easily."

"Yes, but what if the person who did this wanted that? It is better to stay apart in groups of two, try to search for any anomaly, I will also try from my end. It might be targeted on La Folia."

"I will see to that Kojou." Sayaka said to Kojou.

"Stay well, Sayaka, I will try to find a way to solve this problem."

"But still I didn't expect you to be this capable in the stratazing department." La Folia said in awe in her voice.

"Yeah, me too."

Saying so Kojou hung up on the call and kept looking at the message with instructions from Asagi.

"Seriously, how smart is that girl?"

Kojou could only mutter astonishment, in the short time that had elapsed, Asagi had given him basic instructions to follow and started work on a code to help people find the shortest way to a fixed place, in the distorted space.

It's basically a GPS which works on the fabric of space itself.

"Is she some sort of cyber goddess or what?" Kojou could only say that jokingly at this.
