Chapter 8: 8 Help needed!
For last couple of days since capturing the three militants Jon Roberts and his crew have been learning what the militants call Galactic Basic, and I have been learning Mando from the Mandalorian.
"We, Corellian, merchant. We, looking for furs and rear metals. Please, let us go home." A cylindrical droid was translating word by word.
Besides the droid, two of the militants who were captured before were lying on the table, groaning weakly, uttering a word from time to time.
In another interrogation room, the Mandalorian was talking to Jon Roberts about his culture, language, training and history. The Mandalorian was asking what he can get for telling Jon Roberts about his people.
"I want to have you train my military in the ways of the Mandalorians." Jon Roberts replied.
"We will give you a family or clan to be a part of. We will help you out in doing jobs and finding more clan-less Mandalorians and foundlings. We also can help you with weapons, ships, and armor." Jon said.
The Mandalorian heard what Jon said, and his eyes went wide. "You know some of my culture about foundlings?"
"Yes, cause I seen it in the past of my people." Jon Roberts said. "Your people are just like my people, how we help out the young to that they learn and are wanted and not left on their own."
"Ok, what can you offer to me to help out your people?" Xaz Tanon replied.
"We have the blueprints of a few old Mandalorian ships from ages past: Crusader-class corvette, Kandosii-type dreadnaught, Keldabe-class battleship, Basilisk war droid, Mandalorian cruiser and Mandalorian warship we can make them once we have blueprints studied and the faculties to make them. If you have anyone you can communicate with that will help us, make them quicker, we can help each other out." Jon Roberts said to Xaz Tanon.
After telling Xaz Tanon of the blueprints of the ships Jon Roberts pulls them up on a holographic projection screen to show Xaz Tanon.
Jon Roberts then leaves the room while Xaz Tanon starts thinking about what he wants. Jon heads over to the other interrogation room, watching the performance of the other two. T-800 stood behind him expressionlessly, keeping his feet at shoulder with a part, and standing there with his hands behind his back.
Four Earth standard day has passed. During these 96 hours, under the request of Mei and the beatings and coercion of the marines, the two militants were forced to say countless words for analysis. Perhaps from the time they came out of their mother's womb to the present, even including the crying of babies, the sum of the words.
Now the analysis of this language called galactic basic has exceeded 80%, and a certain level of dialogue can be carried out. But the subsequent phrasing of letters, words, and grammar will take a little longer.
Jon Roberts turned a blind eye to their performance, turned to the translation droid and said: "Where is the capital of the Galactic Empire?"
The two were at a loss when they heard the translation, and one of them corrected: "The Galactic Republic, not the Empire. Coruscant, the capital."
"Then who is the leader of the Jedi Order?" Jon Roberts asked again.
The two of them continued to look confused, shaking their heads to express their ignorance.
That's right, although the Jedi Knights of the Republic period had aloof status, they acted in a low-key manner, silently guarding the Galactic Republic. The existence of the Jedi Knights is mostly just a legend in the minds of ordinary people in the galaxy.
Jon Roberts thought for a while, then changed the question, "Who is the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Senate?"
They thought about the question, and one of them answered: "Finnis Valorum."
Jon Roberts' expression changed, and he asked one last question, "Has there ever been a war on planet Naboo?"
The two shook their heads.
Jon Roberts so left the interrogation rooms and walked towards the bridge.
...
Back on the bridge, Jon Roberts sat on the main seat, leaning on the backrest and staring at the ceiling of the command center in a daze. Now he has narrowed down the current "Star Wars" era to less than 20 years, but the result is not making him happy anyway.
Jon Roberts is undoubtedly a "Star Wars" fan, and naturally, he has a full understanding of the "Star Wars" plot before time travel, and in the plot of "Star Wars" he knows, during more than ten years of his tenure as the speaker, Phoenix Valorum. It was also the most chaotic ten years in the Galactic Republic.
Because in the past 20 years, the galaxy will usher in an unprecedented war and turmoil, and almost every corner of the galaxy will be involved in the flames of war. In this war, the Galactic Republic with a history of more than 25,000 years ushered in its final destruction. Just like the Eternal Empire, the Infinite Empire, the Sith Empires, and even the Kiliks hundreds of thousands of years ago that once appeared in this galaxy and flourished for a while, they disappeared in the long river of history.
Jon Roberts began to sort out the "Star Wars" plot in his memory. Now the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic Senate is Finnis Valorum, and the war on the planet Naboo has not broken out yet. That is an important node.
Because the war on the planet Naboo finally caused the former speaker Finnis Valorum to step down, Sheev Palpatine became the new Supreme Chancellor of the Republic Then... Under his conspiracy, 10 years after the Battle of Naboo, the galactic Republic was completely divided by war.
The exploited planets on the Outer Rim of the Galaxy announced the establishment of the Confederation of Independent Systems to fight against the Galactic Republic was completely divided by war.
Sheev Palpatine is possibly the greatest conspirator in the history of the "Star Wars" universe, planned all this. He used this war to finally overthrow the Galactic Republic, wipe out the Jedi Order, and wipe out the resistance forces in the Outer Rim swept away.
Then he proclaimed himself Emperor on the ruins of the Galactic Republic and changed the Galactic Republic to the Galactic Empire.
Thinking of this, Jon Roberts let out a long sigh, only to feel his head swell.
"Obey him? Join the Galactic Empire and become the emperor's chess piece?" This thought flashed through Jon Roberts' mind, but then his eyes turned cold, "Impossible! These things... are mine!!"
Jon Roberts looked at the busy people in the command center, and said to himself: "If it was the Republic period... because there is still a Senate before our strength develops, we need a person to go to the Senate to issue our orders, voice, maybe more help can be enlisted... yes... I need a politician..."
He understands that in the world of "Star Wars" is such a democratic regime that is left to the extreme. Under such circumstances, even if their own strength is insufficient, an excellent politician can also win more benefits for them.
Sanctuary has only one planet, and even if all the technology in the database is cashed out in an instant, it has absolutely no background to meet future wars. So... need more allies, a better political environment.
Jon Roberts looked up to the backs of his chiefs of staffs and shook his head slightly.
They can't.
Clement's major is not in this at all, don't expect her to get involved in politics. Skylar was born as a staff officer, and he is only an ordinary class figure, and his ability is still relatively limited.
A master statesman is needed! In this way, on the one hand, he can continue to expand his strength at home, and on the other hand he can strive for more interests in the political arena of the Republic Senate.
Jon Roberts took a deep breath and began to flip through the list of people who could be awakened. Suddenly, he found that the list seemed to have changed! In the past, there were four classes: normal, elite, master and legendary followed by one question mark.
"Mei! When will the legendary characters be unlocked? Jon Roberts asked in surprise.
[After you awakened, Commander. If you don't have powerful abilities, characters at the legendary level and higher will not be loyal to you. Forcibly waking them up may lead to chaos instead. Everyone at this level has this ability, or even worse.]
