I had been putting a new suit in my bracelet all evening, as I still had to get to Rumi's house, and it was taking too long to do it by taxi. So I would be getting to her in a glider, and that somehow didn't suggest the costume I wanted to wear. So I had to load the costume into the bracelet, which I could delete from the nanites' memory afterwards.
When I landed at Rumi's house I got off the glider and quickly switched my clothes on the bracelet. I was now wearing a white tee suit, with a white shirt, bowtie, and shoes. I also took a bunch of flowers out of the bag I was carrying behind me. And only then I went to the door and knocked quietly.
- Just a minute!
Rumi's voice was excited, but soon she opened the door and I froze....
- Izuku?
I blinked and held out the bouquet to Rumi.
- You look gorgeous...
She smiled embarrassedly and fixed a strand of hair. She was dressed in tight-fitting white trousers, a strapless top that covered her breasts and two fingers below, leaving her belly with visible abs completely exposed, as well as a white jacket and white shoes. All the clothes had a silver floral pattern.
- Thank you.
Rumi took the bouquet from me and lowered her face into it....
Sniff, sniff...
She sniffed suspiciously and raised a laughing look at me.
- No...
- Yes...
- No...
She shook her head and a wide smile appeared on her face.
- Yes. I couldn't, couldn't I, not pamper Bunny?
She laughed merrily and pulled out three carrots hidden in the bouquet.
Hrum-hrum-hrum-hrum...
Rumi covered her eyes in pleasure and quickly ate the first carrot, the remaining two she regretfully placed on the table next to the front door. After which she helplessly shifted her gaze from me to the bouquet and back again.
- Can you wait a little while?
- Sure.
Rumi disappeared inside the house, then returned with the bouquet in a vase, placing it on the same table where the carrots had been.
- Shall we go?
-Yeah...
I grinned.
- Well, let's go, the taxi driver has already written that he's waiting, so we'll reach him in five minutes, and there are still thirty minutes.
- Where are we going?
- That's a secret.
- Izuku.
- Rumi, what a surprise it would be if I told you like this.
- Boo...
Rumi pouted playfully and I put my arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to me, which, judging by the way her ears were behaving, she liked very much.
- You know what I like best about you?
- My ponytail?
She threw me a laughing look.
- No... the ponytail is adorable... but it's not what I like most about you.
- What?
She looked at me with interest.
- Your ears.
- Ears?
One ear bent slightly, as if questioning, while the other one stood up defiantly.
- Yeah.
I grinned.
- Your ears are traitors...
- What?!
The ears stood up indignantly and turned round slightly.
- It's simple. They give away your mood. Whatever you're feeling, your ears show you exactly what you're feeling. Right now one of them is slightly questioning and the other one is perturbed....
I grinned.
- And now they are relaxed and look extremely confused.
- Really?
- Now they show that you don't believe in my words, well at least you don't want to believe. And now you're starting to resent me.....
- Izuku!
- Is that so?
- You're reading me like an open book from behind my ears?!
- Yes.
- Traitors!!!
Ears perked up in extreme indignation.
- Oh, come on.
Even though she pulled away from me during that conversation, I took advantage of the moment and pulled her back to me.
- Stop it!
- No...
I shook my head. I shook my head and stroked her head and ears, which made her calm down a little and even mellow.
- If you think these strokes will make me forget that you read me like an open book ...
She gave me an indignant look.
- What can you do about it?
- I don't know! But I'll think of something!
- You will.
I kissed her ear.
- Tsk... that's not interesting....
She glanced at me and nestled against my shoulder, letting me enjoy stroking her ears and her body against mine. And even the fact that we were both wearing clothes didn't do much to hold back.
And so we enjoyed each other's company for the rest of the journey.
- Here we are.
- Thank you.
I nodded to the driver and helped Rumi, outraged at my behaviour, out of the car.
- I'm not a weak young lady who needs to be protected and helped out of the car....
- Yeah, but your ears tell me you're enjoying the attention.
- Tsk.
She looked around annoyed.
- Where did you take me? To the park?
- Not exactly...
I shook my head.
- ...I just thought it would be stupid to take you to a normal restaurant. Anything extreme would bring out the rabbit in you, so there weren't a lot of options. So I decided to have a romantic dinner outdoors.
- Really?
Rumi's ears fluttered in delight.
- Yes, so let's go...
Another five minutes of walking through the park and we come to the centre of the park, where there is a gazebo with a table.
- Tonight, we have the whole park to ourselves. And also one of the best restaurants in Japan has provided their waiters and chefs to serve you and me.
- Hmm...
She looked around admiringly.
- Beautiful...
- I'm glad you're enjoying everything so far...
- Not everything...
She gave me a stern look.
- What did I do to displease you?
- You came in a suit... you gave me flowers, even stroked my ears, but you didn't even kiss me on the cheek....
She looked at me reproachfully.
- I'm sorry...
I lean a little as she's shorter than me, and her shoes are not so high heeled to equalise the height difference. And I kiss Rumi gently, who opened her lips to let my tongue into her mouth... big mistake... very big. Still, I have a lot of experience kissing Tsuyu, and that girl's tongue can do incredible things.....
- Mh...
Rumi's legs couldn't hold her and I gently picked her up while breaking the kiss.
- This is... unexpected...
- That's another thing...
I shook my head. Things could be far more unbelievable.
Rumi hesitantly got to her feet and walked with me to the gazebo.
- Hello, my name is Malie and I'll be serving you today.
The redheaded girl walked over to us and with a cute smile on her face handed us two menus.
- Alcoholic beverages?
- I'd rather have freshly squeezed juices... my companion a carrot one, me an orange one.
- I get it, juices are coming right up.
The waitress gave me a slightly disapproving look, but I didn't care what she thought. I know Rumi doesn't like alcohol, but she likes fresh juices. Especially carrot juice.
- So...
- Can they make a stew?
- They can, I grinned, but maybe you could look at something else?
Rumi pouted slightly, but still opened the menu and her eyes immediately sparkled with delight.
- Vegetable menu?!
- That's right. There's meat too, but it's on separate pages, and all the side dishes are vegetables. So you can choose something to your liking, or just something you haven't tried yet.
- Your drinks...
A waitress appeared next to us and set down glasses of juices.
- Have you made your choice yet?
- I have... I'll have the ratatouille and a pork neck kebab to go with it.
I got a look of contempt. I don't know what it was about, maybe nobody really eats like that, or maybe this particular girl thought it was sacrilegious.
- I'll have the courgette and tomato vegetable paprikash.
- Hmm, I wrote it down...
The girl made notes in her notebook.
- ...may I suggest a wine to accompany your meal, a red blend of Gamay or Pinot Noir, a white wine of Insolia or a pleasantly tannic Nebbiolo....
She was about to say something else, but was interrupted by Rumi, who shook her head.
- No. I don't like alcohol. More carrot juice... a carafe.
- I'll have a carafe too, but pineapple....
The girl nodded and left immediately.
- Not the best selection of wait staff....
I shrugged.
- It's just that she's used to the high society that knows how it should be... thousands and thousands of great tasters have probably decided that ratatouille and kebab are not to be eaten, they interfere with each other's flavour, and in your case, most likely, the wine will allow some hidden notes of the dish to reveal themselves....
I shake my head.
- And she's not used to the idea that someone could care less about what's right. That someone can just order what they want and eat it the way they want.....
- It's like eating vermicelli with bread.....
I grinned.
- Yeah... you're right, basically nonsense, but sometimes you want to and that's it.
We looked at each other understandingly.
- You know...
Rumi looked thoughtfully at the nature that surrounded us.
- I didn't expect this.
- I hope this kind of date won't disappoint you, but in the meantime, tell me about Rumi...?
- А?
- You know, the Rumi who doesn't train and run around town. What do you do in your spare time?
- Hmm... play games... I prefer...
- Fighting games?
She grinned.
- Only if I have someone to play with, but other than that... I like to play Sims.
- Oh, really?!
- What? Suddenly?
She grinned.
- But it's true. It's a game that's got me hooked.
Our date was just beginning and I had big plans to get more information out of Rumi about her... and more about myself, if she wanted me to....
