Soul Land: Heartbreak Makes Me Stronger

Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Where Are You Looking?

In the following days, Qin Jian immersed himself in caring for Shui Bing'er and refining the technique for swapping Martial Soul bodies.

However, even after five days, there was no breakthrough. Turning such an abstract theory into reality proved incredibly challenging.

It was at this point that Huo Wu visited him again.

It seemed she had practically taken up residence in Skywater City lately.

This time, they didn't go to the small pavilion, as Qin Jian didn't see it as a big deal. He straightforwardly explained the arrangement to the members of Skywater Battle Team.

"Qin Jian, help me perform Fusion Rings once," Huo Wu said directly from the sofa, catching Qin Jian off guard.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

A resolute expression gradually appeared on Huo Wu's face. "It's just Soul Power entering my body, right? Let's do it!"

With that, she leaned back, closed her eyes, and struck a pose that left Qin Jian both amused and exasperated.

At that moment, Shui Bing'er walked down from her bedroom.

Although she wasn't fully recovered after five days, she could manage her daily life without much trouble.

"Qin Jian, are you helping Huo Wu with Fusion Rings?" she asked, her gaze carrying a subtle undertone as she looked at Huo Wu.

Allowing someone else's Soul Power into your body…

She hadn't expected Huo Wu to agree to such a thing. This wasn't merely a matter of trust but of laying oneself entirely bare before the other person.

"I just want to grow stronger and learn the divine technique of Fusion Rings. Don't overthink it!" Huo Wu retorted, noticing the peculiar looks from both of them. Her tone carried a mix of shame and irritation.

"Oh…" Shui Bing'er's expression grew even more curious. Doesn't Huo Wu realize her own feelings for Qin Jian?

No girl would agree to this kind of thing without some level of affection.

"Alright, let me help you give it a try," Qin Jian said, his demeanor returning to normal.

Shui Bing'er shot him a covert glance. Whether or not he noticed Huo Wu's feelings, she had no intention of pointing them out. Why invite a rival?

"Buzz!"

Huo Wu stood in the center of the hall, activating her Fire Shadow Martial Soul. Three Soul Rings—yellow, yellow, and purple—lit up beneath her feet.

"Go ahead," she said, tilting her head back and shutting her eyes again, her expression one of determined sacrifice.

"Pfft…"

Unable to hold back, Shui Bing'er quickly covered her mouth to suppress her laughter, lest she provoke Huo Wu's wrath.

Qin Jian remained composed.

He stepped in front of Huo Wu and said, "Extend your right hand."

Huo Wu hesitated briefly but swiftly reached out.

The crimson glow of her Martial Soul illuminated her face, turning it rosy. It was unclear whether the cause was her Martial Soul or something else.

As soon as Qin Jian's fingers lightly touched hers, her entire body shuddered as if she had been electrocuted.

"Are you okay?" Qin Jian asked, suppressing a laugh.

"I'm fine… Continue!" Huo Wu forced herself to remain calm.

Qin Jian then placed his hand fully over hers, and a stream of Soul Power began flowing into her body.

At that moment, Huo Wu suddenly trembled violently, and a flash of firelight burst forth.

"Whoosh!"

In the next instant, Qin Jian found himself facing Huo Wu's Fire Shadow Martial Soul instead.

"S-Sorry…"

Huo Wu reappeared where the Fire Shadow had stood moments earlier. Her eyes were now open, but she avoided looking at Qin Jian altogether. "I'm sorry… I'm still not used to this…"

"Interesting…"

Instead of being annoyed, Qin Jian seemed fascinated. He held onto the illusory hand of the Fire Shadow, his gaze contemplative. "So, the Martial Soul really is connected to the body…"

Huo Wu and Shui Bing'er exchanged curious looks.

Qin Jian murmured, "Using Soul Power as a bridge to connect the Martial Soul and the body, then altering the position of the Soul Power is like shifting strength. This enables the body and Martial Soul to switch places…"

The more he explained, the wider Huo Wu's eyes grew. Is this guy really grasping the concept just from sensing my position switch?

"No way! I don't believe it!"

She stared at Qin Jian with unwavering focus.

"Buzz!"

At that moment, two Soul Rings—yellow and purple—glowed beneath Qin Jian, and his purple Emotion Sword Martial Soul appeared in his hand.

"Whoosh!"

He casually tossed the Emotion Sword, sending it flying to the far corner of the hall.

"Swish!"

In the blink of an eye, both Qin Jian's figure and the Purple Sword turned ethereal. When they reappeared, Qin Jian had swapped places with the sword!

"Haha, just as I thought!"

Qin Jian's excitement was palpable, but Huo Wu's face froze entirely. It only took him five days to fully master this technique…

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Now exhilarated, Qin Jian repeatedly switched positions with his Martial Soul, leaving afterimages throughout the hall.

The more Huo Wu watched, the more irritated she became. Finally, she exploded in anger. "Qin Jian! Teach me Fusion Rings!"

"Uh…"

Qin Jian halted mid-motion, his expression somewhat awkward.

He had agreed to help Huo Wu understand the technique, yet he ended up learning it himself.

"Here!"

Fuming, Huo Wu stomped up to him and thrust her hand out.

Qin Jian grasped her hand again, channeling Soul Power into her body. This time, her complexion turned visibly rosier.

Suppressing her discomfort, she waited as Qin Jian began examining her Soul Rings.

Qin Jian shut his eyes, focusing entirely on sensing the commonalities and differences between the rings.

Although Huo Wu felt utterly exposed, Qin Jian was too absorbed in his task to pay attention to anything else. His full concentration was on the Soul Rings.

"Buzz!"

Suddenly, two yellow Soul Rings fused together, leaving Huo Wu momentarily stunned.

Distracted by her embarrassment, she forgot to pay attention to how Qin Jian had achieved the fusion.

The third Soul Ring proved more difficult. Qin Jian spent nearly ten minutes finding the breakthrough point.

"Buzz!"

Finally, the three rings merged into one.

Huo Wu stared at the bi-colored Fusion Ring above her in a daze.

"Sizzle…"

As Qin Jian withdrew his Soul Power, the rings separated and returned to her. Yet, she remained in a state of confusion.

"How was it? Did you feel anything?" Qin Jian waved a hand in front of her face.

Snapping out of her daze, Huo Wu's face turned awkward. "I…"

She was too embarrassed to admit she hadn't learned anything, especially when Qin Jian had grasped her position-switching technique so quickly.

Noticing her discomfort, Qin Jian smiled. "Fusion Rings are indeed more difficult than swapping positions with a Martial Soul. How about I demonstrate a few more times?"

Relieved, Huo Wu nodded. "Please show me again."

The second demonstration went even smoother, as Qin Jian had mastered the process.

Huo Wu finally began showing signs of comprehension. "Qin Jian, one more time… I think I'll get it this time."

During the third demonstration, Qin Jian accidentally let his Soul Power wander.

Huo Wu instantly flared up. "Qin Jian! Where are you looking?"
