Chapter 586: Traversing Thousands of Miles
Several days passed, and Ivan eventually bade farewell to his friends in Paradise, embarking on his return journey.
On the way, he deliberately sought out places to gather intelligence and, just as he expected, the news of the throne's emergence was widely known in the vicinity, with the appearance and testimonies of beings at the Ancient King level convincing many of its veracity.
Some even attempted to seek him out in Trembling Paradise, despite their lack of understanding about him.
Later, as he reached the passage from the third layer to the second layer of the Underground World, he found himself being tailed; there were far more ill-intentioned people hidden here than before.
"Those three bastards really don't know when to quit, trying to give me one last hard time at the end."
"This isn't looking good, I can't stay in the Underground World like this."
In fact, many people here were just onlookers whose strength was nothing compared to his, otherwise they wouldn't have been so easily spotted by him.
There were several exits at the passage, but Ivan had no intention of forcing his way through; there were other ways to get by.
Then, he summoned the Shadow Blood Guard Mason from the hunting space with the Silver Moon Blade, letting it lead the way while he himself hid inside the hunting space.
Despite Mason being a pseudo-lord level Shadow Blood Tree, in some aspects, it wasn't inferior to a Level 4 creature. So long as it didn't act recklessly, the journey should be naturally safe and stable.
Under such circumstances, Ivan silently returned to the second layer of the Underground World.
Soon after, he successfully returned to the first layer, to the hidden residence of Vermilion Bird Valley.
"Ivan, I heard you seized a natural throne from a bunch of Alien Ancient Kings, displaying the grandeur of our Arcane Wizards. Is it true?"
Upon meeting Hotter and Candi, Hotter's first words caught him off guard.
"Has the word spread here too?" He voiced his surprise.
"Nonsense, I've been in the Underground World for such a long time, not just for nothing. You're underestimating me." After hearing this, Hotter rolled his eyes, then repeated:
"From the sound of it, the matter of the throne is true. Tell me, how did it come about? Shouldn't a throne be condensed by a Level 6 creature? How could there be a naturally formed one?"
Candi was equally curious about this question.
Nobody could blame them for thinking such a thing; if there were natural thrones for the taking, who would want to train step by step, as it would only make life harder?
"Forget about it, you've missed the opportunity. There's basically no chance of finding a ready-made throne in the future—"
Seeing their intense interest, Ivan didn't keep them guessing and explained Danaila World's past most significant feature—the struggle for the throne.
"Ah, we were born at the wrong time!" Hotter sighed after listening.
"How I wish I could return to the era from ten thousand years ago." Candi agreed wholeheartedly.
Various signs all indicated one thing: before the great war ten thousand years ago, Danaila World was indeed more prosperous than it is now, and on the whole, more vibrant.
Now, it should still be in a period of recovery after the great war.
How many millennia it would take before Danaila could once again engage in the struggle for the throne is anyone's guess.
"In that case, you are highly likely to become the first Sorcerer with a throne. I am really looking forward to it. By then, we wizards won't have to be as cautious as we are now."
After musing for a bit, Hotter suddenly remembered another matter and looked intently at Ivan.
"The accurate term is True King Wizard. But it's not so easy; even if what I got was a complete throne, it only provides an opportunity. Whether one can ascend to Level 6 True King still depends on the individual's accumulation."
Ivan shook his head slightly.
He was not even a Void King Wizard yet, and becoming a Level 6 True King Wizard was out of his current contemplations.
"Still, you're already much better off than the rest. I think the Supreme Council should promote you to Great Sage straight away, otherwise with your rate of strength advancement, you'll soon outgrow it."
Originally, Hotter was very optimistic about Ivan becoming the first Level 6 Sorcerer. With the addition of extra help, Hotter's hopes were even higher.
"You are more than capable as a Great Sage to point the way for a Level 6 Sorcerer," Candi followed up.
"Okay, you two don't need to flatter me." Ivan changed the subject, "I have to tell you something, given my current situation, it is not appropriate for me to stay in the Underground World, I'll leave it in your hands."
"No problem."
"Rest assured and go, you haven't been around for the past few years anyway."
"Haha, what blunt truth you speak."
Hotter and his companion readily agreed to his request.
These three remote residences really attracted no coveting eyes. Having two Arcane Wizards stationed here seemed somewhat superfluous. Although tonight was unlike the past, with the rightful owner absent, a little more attention was all that was required.
Ivan didn't linger long in Vermilion Bird Valley; he then made a trip to the Komor Empire and met up with Jenny, who had been staying there.
Angela was also in the area recently.
In Yuyue City, Ivan also saw his six-year-old daughter, Lu Lubeidi, who had grown into a little adult. As for her mother, Lu Lu Xiyu, she was still in the process of ascending to a lord-level, and hadn't appeared for a long time.
In order not to cause unnecessary trouble for everyone, Ivan also did not stay long in Yuyue City.
Subsequently, he left the Underground World without delay and arrived at the Sorcerer's stronghold—Truth City.
Truth City could be considered the safest place in the sorcerer world, and naturally, he didn't hide his whereabouts. He had not been back long before he greeted Grace and inquired about Tanaya's situation.
Like Lu Lu Xiyu, Tanaya was also in the process of ascending to Level 4, and her situation was unclear at the moment.
One was challenging the status of Shadow Lord, and the other was challenging the title of Knight King.
Though their paths were different, no news was good news, and both were bound to have an astonishing breakthrough one day.
"Sorcerer Ivan, the natural throne you seized in the Underground World by defeating the Snake-man Ancient King, Blood Elf King, and others?"
Three days later, Ivan rushed to the Supreme Council upon being summoned by the King of Ten Thousand Woods. After arriving at the Truth Hall, he unexpectedly found that the Ice Queen was also present.
The King of Ten Thousand Woods asked directly about the same matter.
Ivan wasn't surprised that the two had received such information and didn't hide anything, briefly recounting the events, including the specific realm after the Void King Wizard, which was the information provided by Clement.
After hearing it, the two of them were quite emotional, marvelling at the rarity of his experiences.
"Now is a special time, I'll cut to the chase. Since you've reached this level of strength, we cannot sit idly by. We've decided to lend a helping hand and help you become a Level 5 Sorcerer as soon as possible.
To be honest, it's a bit rushed, but what do you think?"
The King of Ten Thousand Woods immediately stated.
The Ice Queen nodded lightly, which was clearly a decision made after consultation from above.
"Has something happened?"
Ivan sensed something different in their words.
According to the nature of sorcerers, they have always disliked haste and excessive cultivation; letting things take their natural course has been the norm. The words of the two were clearly against this principle.
"You are a smart man, don't inquire into matters you shouldn't," the King of Ten Thousand Woods said seriously.
"Sorcerer Ivan, we ask you once more, do you agree to the proposal just mentioned?" the Ice Queen reiterated.
"Of course, I can't think of a reason to refuse such good fortune."
Ivan shuddered inwardly; whatever was behind this was most likely no small matter, but he said no more. After all, lacking the power to match, speaking further was futile, and he accepted the opportunity that was offered.
The sorcerers have risen for three to four thousand years, and their heritage is not necessarily inferior to some ancient races.
He believed that the two Void King Wizards would not make empty gestures, nor would they inexplicably harm him; how could he not seize such a great opportunity?
