Solo Max-Level Newbie

Chapter 369

Normal simultaneous casting of two spells is called double-casting, with triple, quadruple, and quintuple casting referring to three or more spells cast at once. However, four spells of the same caliber as a Breath spell is indeed remarkable.

Quadruple casting spells of such power is a feat that spellcaster players fully understood about the complexity of the calculations involved. At least dozens of high-rankers would be needed, each precisely calculating different attributes and powers, to have even the faintest chance of withstanding such magic.

“Damn it, has he still not fully unleashed his strength?”

“What on earth are we supposed to do against that?”

“Just a graze… and it’s over.”

The destructive range of the skill was estimated to extend hundreds of meters. A tired body would have no permission to avoid it. But then,

“It’s okay now.”

Teresa spoke calmly, pushing past everyone’s worries. A warm look flashed in her green eyes. Yes, the dangerous times had passed. There was no longer any reason to tremble in fear.

“Teresa, what are you— Ah! Look over there, at that person!”

Only then did everyone’s gaze shift toward Jinhyuk. His movements had been so fast, and obscured by the darkness of the forest, that they had been uncertain, but now they could clearly see who was there.

“It’s Kang Jinhyuk!”

“It’s true. It’s player Kang Jinhyuk from one of the eight major guilds!”

“That ranker has come all this way?”

There was no mistaking it. That presence, that magical power, was none other than the strongest ranker they all knew.

***

‘A quadruple attribute spell… So, is this what it means to be the master of the forest?’ Jinhyuk marveled silently at the incredible display. Certainly, there wouldn’t be many bosses capable of such a feat, especially in the mid-levels of the forest.

‘Perfectly timed for a useful test subject.’

Jinhyuk infused his sword with magical power. Voom! The sword flared up with a crimson energy.

[Havelian’s Spirit – Barnard responds to his master’s call!]

The blade’s color changed. The blue sword blade, combined with the crimson energy, created a soft purple haze around the dagger.

‘It’s finally time for a demonstration.’

Indeed, this new sword felt superior to his previous fang, starting from the sensation in his grip alone.

With a flick, his body vanished in the blink of an eye, propelled further by the ‘Sword Demon’s Heavenly Step.’ As if riding the wind, he immediately appeared right above the head of Crevieratis.

From above… straight down.

Swish!

The sword fell in a straight line, easily cutting through the tough hide.

“Keee!”

Body fluids splattered in all directions as the creature let out a cry. The movements were too clean and swift for any additional words.

As more and more wounds piled up rapidly, and the blood began to gush even more noticeably, Crevieratis slammed its legs deep into the ground, trying to maintain a firm center of gravity. At the same time an unpredictable tail sweep attack was launched, the same one that had snapped Teresa’s arm in a single blow.

“I will kill you!”

The ground was marked with countless traces of blade strikes, as if intent on grinding the target into dust. However, Jinhyuk effortlessly dodged the frenzied storm of tail sweeps, moving not as if reacting to what he saw but as if he had already memorized every possible outcome.

Tak… Tat! Shhk!

The nape of the neck, the heart, the temples—the difference was as thin as a piece of paper. Despite the relentless attacks, they never managed to hit their target.

“Is that… really the movement of a human?”

“A rank A assassin wouldn’t even have time to react, let alone hit him… Even watching makes it hard to believe.”

“I’ve already lost count five times.”

“Hahaha. I just celebrated my advancement to ranker, and now I feel like a fool.”

“If only that person had been the expedition leader instead of Fayde… Our quest would have certainly been successful. I’m sure of it.”

As the onlookers swallowed their dry saliva watching the nearly miraculous acrobatics unfold, Teresa simply gaped, as if watching a scene from a movie. Finding a pattern in those unpredictable movements seemed nearly impossible. After all, her arm had been shattered on first impact.

“He really makes the impossible seem possible…”

The world Jinhyuk sees and feels is undoubtedly different from that of ordinary players. He must be experiencing something only available to the seasoned elite in an entirely different space-time dimension.

Voom!

Finally, the tail’s movement began to slow, and Jinhyuk seized the gap.

Boom!

He swiftly penetrated deep within Crevieratis’ hide. His speed and ability to read trajectories were nothing like Teresa’s, on another level entirely.

“Kiee!”

Thus, Crevieratis fell into confusion. The woman it had faced right before was also a formidable leader of a pack. Yet now,

‘Is the difference really this vast?’

It felt as if it was facing an insurmountable wall it had never encountered before. At this rate, it would surely be defeated. Making its judgment, Crevieratis raised its head skyward.

[Crevieratis has activated its unique ability ‘Army Ant’!]

Chiik!

Suddenly, a strange fragrance emitted from the green smoke and vapor. What’s this…?

Jinhyuk’s eyes narrowed. The bulk of the opponent’s unique power certainly included some transformation aspect…

“Well now, I thought this boss had some pride, but it has used its unique ability now that it’s cornered? Isn’t that an ability you dislike?”

“How… do you know about my power?”

Of course, he knows. He has even battled divine beings with higher abilities than this creature; how would he not know? He is aware of every strength and advantage, as well as all the drawbacks of this power.

“Isn’t it the ability to transform all insects into the same species as you?”

Jinhyuk shrugged nonchalantly as if he should have known this already. But then, Crevieratis’ eyes grew even colder than before.

“You’re more dangerous than you look. How do you know about this ability? It is only known to those who are not even of this floor.”

Only the top leaders among the 20th floor’s factions were aware of this unique ability. And yet, this stranger had laid bare the secret without any hint of ignorance.

Despite this,

“It doesn’t matter. There is no way to counter my power now.”

Once the ability was initiated, the outcome was determined. The entire forest’s insects would now transform into the most powerful battle species, just like Crevieratis.

Soon, the appearance of the lurking insects began to change.

Crack, crack… crack…

With a chilling sound, hundreds of insects with three heads appeared, miniatures of Crevieratis.

“Meat… Tender meat.”

“Soft… flesh.”

“Rich in blood and viscera… I will devour them… Completely.”

These insects now held an incomparable magical power.

“Kieee! How about that? Can you handle such numbers?”

Crevieratis spat out a maniacal laugh.

“Hmm. There are quite a few.”

An estimation revealed hundreds of them, all recipients of ‘Army Ant’s effect, leaving them with enhanced physical abilities while stripping away their intelligence. They were now nothing more than faithful pawns, carrying out Crevieratis’ orders.

But…

Sssk.

The rustling in the bushes drew Jinhyuk’s attention.

“Even if they resemble grubs, it’s about time they showed up.”

“What’s coming? What do you mean?”

Crevieratis’ question lit the fuse.

“Kieee! Devour! Eat!”

“Rip and kill!”

The insects leaped into action, and at the same moment, the bushes on the opposite side split open.

“Kyaaah!”

A large, white-furred beast roared. Havelian had joined the fray, the summon that Jinhyuk owed his life to, and was now making its debut.

Pshh sh sh sh… Crack!

Ice shards shot up, freezing the aligned insects into ice statues in one fell swoop.

“Not bad for a rookie. Where on earth did the boss find such a monster to bring along?”

“Stop chatting and let’s get going. This is the right time!”

“I’m scared of bugs, you know. They’re creepy with all those legs.”

“Our boss is a million times scarier than these bugs, isn’t he?”

“Everybody quiet down. My head is throbbing.”

Accompanied by Undine and other elemental spirits, the battle intensity escalated.

‘Good.’

Jinhyuk’s lips curled into a smile. When fighting alongside spirits or summons, attack power increased by 30%!

The magical power emanating from Barnard deepened another shade.

“What are these creatures…?”

A sudden and unexpected variable, Crevieratis scanned its surroundings. It couldn’t fathom how noble species like spirits and summons would follow the commands of a mere human. Confusion swirled in its mind, but this was only the beginning of the chaos that was about to ensue.

Could this be what it feels like when a colossal natural disaster is about to strike?

Kukukuku…!

The ground shattered as an elderly man with bulging muscles made his appearance.

“Fools to block the path of the great master. How utterly laughable.”

Amhwang.

And next to him, Chu Hyun-sayo and Cheon Yuseong drew their swords as well.

“Master, these are the ones.”

“Oh my, there are quite a lot of them, just like Cheon Gongja said.”

“I apologize for having you deal with such filthy things. I hoped we could handle this on our own, but…”

“No, I don’t mind, really. For a master, to fight alongside a disciple is quite nice, and actually, I’m a bit pleased?”

Chu Hyun-sayo smiled warmly.

“Cheon Yuseong… Sir! Ellis, Grandfather Amhwang… Everyone!”

Teresa’s eyes fell on her newly arrived comrades. She hadn’t imagined they would all meet again in a place like this. They had all come… to save them from this hell.

But,

Her heart swelled with emotions, yet they did not linger long.

“Ah…”

She gasped in shock as she remembered just who among them was the real ancient.

“What are you…?”

“Who are we, you ask?”

Jinhyuk’s lips once again curled into a smile, as if waiting to answer the question.

[The Grey Forest is recognized as a boss field.]

[The broadcasting system is activated.]

Every scene was already being recorded. Though the broadcast was set to private, preventing viewers from participating, the sheer fact that Jinhyuk was ‘live streaming’ was enough to draw a huge amount of attention.

‘Just need to edit this properly, and it’ll draw in a sweet number of viewers again.’

But what was most important for the success of a show was…

“Ellis!”

“Ah, I know. Just wait a moment!”

Ellis bit her lip, her expression fraught with emotion. The embarrassment caused her neck and face to blush, leaving no trace of the majesty of a supreme being.

“Dear, just give up already.”

Following Amhwang’s comforting gesture, Ellis resigned herself and spoke up.

“We… We are Go-In-Mul Corporation. And I… am the ranged dealer Yellow-ini!”

“Ahahaha! Well done. I’m the master of the disciple, taking the role of Black… whatever.”

“I am Cheon Yuseong. A melee… dealer. My position is Blue. Please, don’t release this footage. Damn it, Jinhyuk, that bastard.”

Various complaints followed, but Jinhyuk’s mind was saturated with thoughts of making this battle a hit.

‘Here… Hmm, not bad.’

After giving each a close-up, Jinhyuk turned towards Teresa. Their gaze met heavily. Undine stood by, having formed the words ‘Healer – PINK’ in the water.

Now, Teresa had little choice but to comply.

“I-I am Pink, the healer of the Go-In-Mul Corporation!”

Teresa cried out, her voice blending with emotion.
