Chapter 514: Together 2: Death Of Ares and Persephone
Jennifer and Tyson pierced the shimmering gap in the shield, their forms propelled forward.
Jennifer, with a fleeting glance over her shoulder, willed the gap to close, sealing their entry and severing the path behind them.
The two landed with a soft thud on the ramparts, their gazes locking onto Persephone, who had halted her advance before the impenetrable shield.
"Now," Jennifer whispered, her voice laced with a quiet intensity. The divine spark within her ignited, the goddess spirit surging back into her body, same with Tyson's.
Persephone watched, her eyes narrowed, as the humans lifted their faces to the storm, their bodies conduits for a rising tide of energy.
She turned her head eastward, witnessing the convergence of power: Drakon, Havoc, Campe, Shenras, and the Abyssal Archangels, all contributing their formidable energies to the escalating celestial surge.
***This is dire.*** she murmured, her voice a low, ominous rumble.
BOOOOM!!!
A blinding bolt of lightning ripped through the sky, crashing onto the ground with cataclysmic force, gouging a massive crater in the earth.
***This?***
She thought, her eyes snapping back to Jennifer, who wore a knowing smirk.
Whoosh!!!!!
__
Persephone's gaze shot upwards, her breath catching in her throat as a crimson bolt of lightning hurtled towards her with terrifying speed.
***...No!!***
__
[West Wall.]
Ares, his legs ensnared by skeletal hands, strained against their unyielding grip, his eyes rising to meet Emily's.
"Goodbye, Ares!" she declared, her voice a chilling prelude.
BOOOM!!
A thunderous roar echoed from the heavens, and a colossal red lightning strike descended upon Ares.
***NOO! I AM THE GOD OF WAR!!*** Ares bellowed, his voice a primal scream of defiance.
He channeled every ounce of his divinity, erecting a shimmering barrier above him. Not only that, he commanded his legions, who swiftly formed a colossal red barrier, a desperate attempt to deflect the impending annihilation.
"Your efforts are futile," Emily's voice cut through the chaos, cold and precise. "You might be able to block it, but not when hundreds of humans have amplified its power. Even a Primordial would struggle to survive, let alone you, a mere true god."
BANG!!!
The lightning struck the first barrier, the one formed by Ares' soldiers, shattering it like glass.
Ares' eyes widened in horror as the lightning smashed into his own barrier, cracks spiderwebbing across its surface.
BOOM!
***This??***
He watched, his heart pounding in his chest, as a second, third, and fourth lightning strike descended, each aimed squarely at his failing shield.
Whoosh!
His gaze dropped to the ground, where water began to seep from the cracks beneath his feet.
***Good idea, Poseidon!*** He roared, a desperate attempt to salvage the situation.
"Fufufufu," Emily giggled, her voice a mocking melody.
***Why are you laughing?!!*** Ares screamed, his voice laced with terror.
"I forgot you have no understanding of this technique," she explained, her voice dripping with amusement. "This is Storm Annihilation. The moment it touches water, it will unleash an electrical current, vaporizing everything within it, including you."
***Huh?***
Ares' eyes widened in sheer, unadulterated terror.
Whizzed!!
***NOOOOOOO!!!***
BOOOOM!!!!
The lightning slammed into Ares' shield, the water beneath his feet amplifying its power, transforming it into a destructive force of unimaginable magnitude. Emily, perched above the ground, watched with a cruel smile as the lightning disintegrated Ares into ashes, his soldiers reduced to dust, scattered by the wind.
____
[North Wall.]
BOOOM!!!
Erika, Commander Wang, Aaron, Joker, and the assembled defenders watched in stunned silence as a thousand lightning bolts rained down from the storm-torn sky.
"This?"
Protean, Modena, and Dolor, stationed outside the wall, swiftly conjured a gateway and vanished, escaping the impending onslaught.
BOOOOOOOM!!!
The lightning crashed onto the ground, the earth convulsing, the monsters caught in its path incinerated. The water, far from mitigating the destruction, intensified the energy, turning the battlefield into a blazing inferno.
The waters surrounding Amerisa boiled and evaporated in seconds.
Gaea, Poseidon, and Hades, who had retreated a considerable distance, watched in horrified silence as their legions were annihilated, leaving nothing but scorched earth.
BOOOM!!
The three gods turned their heads towards the gateways, miles away, only to find them closed, vanished from sight.
***This? I thought—*** Poseidon was speechless, his voice a mere whisper.
***We all believed the water would dampen the attack, but instead, it amplified it.*** Hades muttered, his voice laced with confusion.
Gaea clenched her fists, her eyes burning with fury, as she surveyed the devastation. ***We have lost this battle because of the treachery of those who aided them, and the power of that artifact!*** She chuckled, a chilling sound.
***Why don't we attack? I know that with our combined strength, Aaron alone cannot withstand us.***
***Yes!*** Poseidon and Hades nodded in agreement.
***We have lost both Ares and Persephone! We will not let this go unpunished!*** Gaea raised her hand towards the sky.
***No matter the outcome, today, the First Realm will fall!***
She unleashed a devastating wave of divinity, a torrent of raw power that surged towards the heavens, forming a colossal green fireball.
***Aid me!!*** she commanded, her voice echoing across the ravaged landscape.
The earth beneath her feet split open, and a torrent of green light erupted from the depths, flowing into the fireball above.
Poseidon and Hades, their faces grim, added their own divinities to the growing inferno.
BOOOM!
The fireball swelled, its size rivaling a football stadium, the wind howling as the ground cracked and buckled.
***GO!!***
With a thunderous roar, the fireball, a blazing sphere of destruction, hurtled towards Amerisa.
___
[North Wall.]
"I can't believe that worked!" The group turned to see Drakon, Campe, Havoc, and Shenras flying towards them.
"It's all thanks to Aaron and Emily," Erika replied, her gaze fixed on the blackened wasteland before them.
"But, Aaron, what about your Hell demons?" she asked, her brow furrowed.
"Don't worry about them. As long as I live, they cannot be killed," Aaron said, a reassuring smile on his face.
"Just like Michael's Walkers," Erika murmured, a hint of ease in her voice.
Whoosh!!!
A chilling breeze swept across the ramparts, and everyone turned to the horizon, their eyes widening in horror as they saw a massive green fireball hurtling towards them, its surface swirling with red and blue energies.
"This?! That is Goddess Gaea's ultimate attack! She's a Primordial Goddess, facing such an attack will be no easy feat!" Aaron exclaimed, his face grim.
"We must find a way to stop it!"
Jennifer, Annabelle, Carina, Sofia, Nia, Nora, Robert, Rahond, and the soldiers from the three walls flew towards them, their faces etched with determination.
Erika turned to face the soldiers, players, and the thousands of pets hovering before her. "We have come this far, and we have lost more than we could have imagined. But we cannot give up."
Jennifer and the group landed on the wall, their faces set in grim determination.
"That is a threat we must eliminate. If we fail, our world will be destroyed. As I have said before, together, we can achieve anything. Together, we will stop this attack!"
She turned towards the fireball, now a mere hundred meters away. "Players and allies! Concentrate all your attacks on the fireball before us! Give it everything you have!"
Her purple bow materialized in her hand, pulsing with energy. "Today, we will defend Amerisa! We will save our world!" She drew the string, and a crimson arrow appeared on her bow.
Jennifer, Tyson, Commander Wang, Aaron, Emily, Nora, Joker and everyone present, including their pets, channeled their energies, awaiting her command.
"Fire!!"
With Erika's command, she released her arrow, and in unison, hundreds of figures unleashed their attacks towards the colossal green fireball. The air crackled with energy as the combined assaults moved with deadly accuracy, colliding with the fireball.
BOOOOOM!!!!
PIFFF!
Every player below the Sovereign medal coughed up blood, their bodies pushed to their absolute limits. Despite their injuries, they continued to pour their attacks and energies into the counteroffensive.
***If this continues, the attack will be destroyed, and we will suffer the backlash!*** Hades said, his voice laced with urgency.
***Then we will not allow that to happen!*** Gaea stretched out her hand towards the attack, adding more of her power. Poseidon and Hades followed suit.
The attack, which had momentarily halted, began to move again, albeit slowly.
"This?!!!" Nora gritted her teeth, pouring more of her celestial energy into the attack.
BAM!!
The colossal green fireball, a swirling vortex of destructive energy, momentarily paused in its relentless advance, only to surge forward once more, a testament to the raw power fueling its trajectory.
***Fools!***
Gaea's voice boomed, a thunderous echo that reverberated across the ravaged landscape. Her eyes, glowing with an otherworldly intensity, bore down upon the defenders. With a deafening sonic boom, the very earth beneath their feet fractured and split, fissures erupting across the terrain. A torrent of raw, unbridled energy surged from the depths of the earth, a geyser of power that poured into the already formidable fireball. The attack swelled in size, its radiance intensifying, and it hurtled towards Amerisa with a renewed, terrifying velocity.
PIFFF!!
The collective strain proved too much. Erika, Jennifer, and every defender on the wall, their bodies pushed beyond their limits, coughed up mouthfuls of blood, their knees buckling beneath them. They collapsed, their bodies trembling, their spirits flagging.
Only Aaron remained standing, his posture unwavering, his expression serene, as if the cataclysmic assault held no sway over him.
"Interesting!" he murmured, his voice a low, resonant rumble. He amplified his own powers, a surge of energy that countered the fireball's momentum, bringing it to a grinding halt.
***Aaron! One primordial cannot halt my attack! You may be the Primordial of the Sky, but compared to me, you are nothing!*** Gaea's voice thundered, her words laced with contempt.
"Who told you there is only one Primordial?"
Recognizing the familiar voice, Nora's eyes widened, a wave of relief washing over her. She looked up, her gaze searching the sky.
Whoosh!!
BOOOM!!
The very fabric of space above Amerisa tore asunder, a rift in reality from which a figure emerged, propelled towards the halted fireball with breathtaking speed. His hand gripped a Divine-class sword, its blade shimmering with an otherworldly luminescence. With a resounding:
BOOOOOOM!!!!
The weakened fireball, its integrity shattered by the sudden, overwhelming force, disintegrated into a shower of glittering particles.
Gaea, Hades, and Poseidon, their bodies reeling from the backlash, vomited mouthfuls of blood, their forms collapsing onto the scorched earth.
"Brother!!" Nora cried out, her voice filled with unbridled joy.
Leo stood suspended in the air, his gaze fixed upon the three gods, who slowly, painfully, rose to their feet.
***The Primordial god of Elements!*** Hades muttered, his voice laced with shock and a hint of dread.
"You know me... That is good," Leo said, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Purple flames, like a living shield, danced around his body, their ethereal glow casting an eerie light.
"Say goodbye... You die today!" he declared, his voice a chilling promise.
Before Leo could launch his assault, a thunderous roar echoed from the heavens, a primal sound that halted everyone in their tracks, their attention drawn skyward.
****I DARE YOU!!!!****
