Chapter 46: Chapitre 45
After a restless and tense night, Marshall decided that he had to keep moving on. He knew that he couldn't stay in one place for too long. He stood at the entrance of a small forest road, feeling a mix of emotions as he thought of what lay ahead. He knew that the journey ahead would be arduous, but he was ready to face whatever challenges came his way.
He walked briskly, his shoes clacking against the pavement, his heart racing with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. As he approached the road, he checked both ways for oncoming traffic and then stepped out onto the asphalt, continuing on towards his unknown destination.
He had been walking for hours, the cold wind stinging his face and the isolation weighing heavily on his nerves. The road was mostly deserted, with no one in sight for miles. The cold air adding to the sense of desolation and emptiness. He wondered how much longer he could keep this up. He shivered, pulling his coat tighter around him, and he felt a wave of loneliness wash over him.
Marshall was no stranger to loneliness though. He had grown accustomed to feeling alone. His childhood had been marked by abandonment and rejection. He had grown up with almost no love or support from his family, and he had spent much of his childhood alone. His father was never at home and spent all the money in alcohol and prostitutes and his mother was always partying, never cared about her only child.
As he grew up, he felt disconnected from others, feeling like an outsider in every social situation. He had never had many friends or meaningful relationships, and he had always been the lone wolf. He was constantly getting bullied by other, mocking him for his appearance and his proverty. He end up hating people and all that frustration he was feeling turned into something darker and more sinister.
He found himself wishing for all those who bullied him getting killed in the most horrible way, he dreamt about taking his father's life so that "that old man" will finally gave a good reason to not take care of his family. He even fantasize about choking his own mother in many disturbing way.
His past made him. But maybe he was always been a dark soul. Many others were in the same situation, getting bullied with irresponsible parents but they didn't choose the path Marshall decided to take.
As he walked on, he allowed himself to sink into the feeling of loneliness, finding refuge in the solitude that had been his constant companion for so long. He was so used to being isolated and alone and he found a strange comfort in the feeling, like an old friend that had been missed but was welcomed back with open arms.
Despite his history of loneliness and isolation, Emily brought a glimmer of hope and joy to his life. She was different from any other person he had ever met, and she had a purity and innocence that he found enchanting. She saw the good in him and she believed that he could change for the better, which was something he had never experienced before. Emily had the power to bring light to his dark and loveless life.
Emily had come into Marshall's life like a bright ray of sunshine, bringing with her warmth and hope and love, even if it had all been built on lies and deceit. She was the first person to show him real affection, and it had changed him irrevocably. Even as he now walked in the cold, alone and afraid, the memories of her smile and the sound of her laughter kept him going, giving him strength and courage to face whatever lay ahead.
He wished he had a picture of her to keep with him as he walked the lonely road. He would love nothing more than to be able to look at her beautiful face, her gentle smile a salve for his weary, troubled soul. But sadly, he had nothing, no physical reminder of the girl who had filled his days with joy and warmth and now was lost to him forever. It was a bittersweet thought, knowing that he had never appreciated her enough when he had the chance and now he was left with nothing but memories.

His thoughts were interrupted by the distant sound of an approaching car, its engine getting louder and louder as it came closer. It was enough to jolt him back to reality, and he stepped quickly off the road, ducking behind a nearby tree as the vehicle approached, its headlights illuminating the empty stretch of road ahead.
As he saw it wasn't a police car but a simple civilian, he stepped out into the road, sticking out his thumb in a desperate attempt to make the driver stop. To his surprise, the car slowed and came to a halt beside him. The window rolled down, revealing a kindly-looking older man at the wheel, his brow furrowing in concern as he looked at the dishevelled and desperate-looking young man standing in front of him.
With a shaky voice, Marshall asked if the man could give him a lift, explaining that his car had broken down further back on the road. The man agreed to take him, opening the passenger door and gesturing for him to get in. Marshall could hardly believe his good fortune, and he quickly climbed into the car, offering the man a sincere "thank you" in gratitude for his kindness. As the engine rumbled to life, Marshall felt a sense of relief wash over him, thankful that he had made it out of a potentially dangerous situation unscathed.
The man was taken aback by his appearance but didn't probe into the matter and simply drove on, keeping one wary eye on his unexpected passenger.
Despite the initial mistrust, Marshall and the man struck up a conversation during the drive, and Marshall, using his skills of manipulation and charm, soon won the man over. It wasn't long before the man was laughing and joking with him, and by the time they reached their destination, the two had become fast friends.
Little did the man know that he had just made a deal with the devil, and that his fate was now intertwined with the dangerous and dangerous young stranger.

As they were driving down the empty road, Marshall's luck soon ran out. Two police cars pulled up behind them with their sirens blaring, the other stopped behind their car and the other stopped in front of them, so that they will be no chance to run away.
His heart began to race as he realized they were stopping everyone on the road for a routine check. The older man slowed down and pulled over to the side of the road, rolling down waiting for the police to come. The blonde hair tried to remain calm, but the thought of being caught by the police was all too real. He tried to come up with a way out of this terrifying situation.
He felt a mixture of fear and frustration as the police officers get out of their car. His mind raced, finding a way to escape unnoticed. He knew that if he was caught, his chance of freedom would be gone. Marshall scanned the area around them, looking for any potential escape routes. He noticed a small path leading into the forest, hidden by the thick underbrush. It was risky, but it was his only chance.
It was clear that there's no way for him to escape without the police noticing him. Desperate for a way out, quickly came up with a plan.
__Marshall: "I need to get out of here. You need to go out with me now." he turned to the older man and said in a low, urgent voice
The man was startled by Marshall's sudden change in demeanor, but before he could react, Marshall had already taken out a knife and was holding it to the man's side. The man's face turned white with fear, but he didn't dare make a sound as he slowly got out of the car.
