Sketching her Shadows

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Elusive Encounter

A Digital Glimpse

After days of relentless searching in Jaipur, Satya's persistence bore fruit. His follow request on Saanvi's Facebook profile was finally accepted. Eagerly, he scrolled through her posts, trying to piece together her recent activities.

One particular story caught his eye: a photo of the Amber Fort, its majestic walls bathed in the golden hues of the setting sun. The caption read, "Lost in history." The timestamp indicated it was posted just an hour ago.

His heart raced. This was his chance.

A Race Against Time

Without a second thought, Satya grabbed his belongings and dashed out of his hotel. Navigating through the bustling streets of Jaipur, he hailed an auto-rickshaw and urged the driver to get him to Amber Fort as quickly as possible.

The journey felt interminable. Traffic snarls and the evening rush seemed to conspire against him. But the thought of finally meeting Saanvi kept his determination aflame.

The Majestic Amber Fort

Upon arrival, the grandeur of Amber Fort loomed before him. The fort's intricate architecture and the surrounding Maota Lake created a picturesque scene, but Satya had no time to admire it. He was on a mission.

He showed Saanvi's photo to the locals and the guides, hoping someone had seen her. A few nodded, pointing him towards the inner sections of the fort.

A Near Miss

Breathless, Satya navigated through the fort's labyrinthine corridors, his footsteps echoing against the ancient stone walls. He reached the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), its mirrored mosaics reflecting the dimming light. There, on a bench facing the ornate glasswork, he saw a sketchbook.

He approached it cautiously, picking it up to reveal intricate sketches of the fort's architecture. Flipping through the pages, he found a recent drawing of the very bench he stood beside, with a timestamp from just minutes earlier.

His heart sank. She had been here, right where he stood, but fate had played its hand, and they had missed each other by mere moments.
