Ace

It's lunch break already, man. Do we all even realize how we are just wasting our time? I don't know where Felix went and Finn went to eat his lunch with his older sister.

"Ace," I heard someone calling me, I turned around and saw Mrs Hegel.

"Yes, Ma'am?" I asked, "Can you do me a favor?" "Sure," "Give this file to the student council head." "Okay." I took the file and turned around. 

I started walking towards the student council room, I knocked at the door. I turned the knob and walked in, well what is this behavior? Amy and Felix were already sitting there. "Why are you both here?" I asked, "Did you do something as well, Ace?" My sister asked me, "Bro, what did you both do on the first day itself?" I asked them.

"Found them both in the back of the cage-" "Stage! Sid. It's Stage." I heard someone correcting the Black-haired with brown eyes, who seems like an Indian boy, "Same Same, Jerry." The guy's name, Sid, said, "You were taking lectures there.." Amy and Felix looked at Jerry to correct him, "Pictures-" "No No, Pictures are those which we hang on wall," "Those are Wall arts-" Amy said, "Wall Arts are what we eat," "That- That is Walnuts," "No no, Walnuts are those in which that insect lives," "That is Wormhole for god sake!" "Can we come back to the point, Miss Amy?" Zane asked in his cold and distant tone…

"Right, we didn't know it was a restricted area for taking photos. I am sorry." Amy said, "Why were you taking photos anyways?" The Guy named Jerry asked, Amy looked at Felix, I sigh. They will get us caught, "For Memories, My sister likes keeping memories in pictures." 

Zane looked at me, well keep calm Ace, don't let yourself be caught, he then looked at Amy, "Did you not know why you took the pictures?" He asked, he was throwing the right questions but at the wrong time, "Ahh- Of course, I knew but like we are three, So everyone of us got to speak right…?" Amy said, laughing awkwardly as Felix and I just followed and nodded. They all nodded, "Okay, you may leave." Zane said, we all sigh in relief and Amy-Felix got up and walked outside. "You are not going?" Zane asked me, scanning me from head to toe like he was staring at my soul. 

"Mrs Hegel sent this paper for you," I held out the paper, he took it and looked at me, 'Be more careful, my eyes are on you three.' That's what his eyes spoke to me. I immediately turned around and was about to walk out, I felt him grabbing my wrist.

"What?" "What is your name?" "Phi Zane, I literally told you my name the previous night," "Sorry, but I can't recall." "Ace, I am Ace." "Right, you can leave."

He stepped back, and I finally let go of the breath, I didn't know I was holding my breath. He was so damn close, couldn't he ask that to me from far away? I immediately walked out, as I sprinted towards the canteen. My face was all red. Come on, Ace, why are you blushing? 

I am going crazy, I am talking to myself. I quickly went to the canteen. It was yet again so quiet over here in the canteen. I looked around for Felix and Amy. I saw them sitting in the back, they are with Finn? I walked to them, "What took you so long?" Amy asked, "And why are you so red?" "Do you have a fever, Phi?" Finn asked me. "No, No, I am fine and I just had to give some papers to Phi Zane which were from Mrs Hegel." I said.

"Did you see what those papers were about-?" "No," I said, "Why would you not?" Finn asked, "I didn't have that in my mind." "Forget," We were eating our lunch, when suddenly Finn's phone started ringing, he picked up, he just seems to be casually talking, it's probably his older sister, Nami.

Our older brother was Finn's older sister's friend? "Finn, do you think we can meet your older sister today at some time?" I asked.

"Sure," He said, And the rest of the day just went by. It was already 5:30 in the evening. We are going to meet Phi Lily in My Dorm. We were waiting for her. 

Amy was with us only. We heard the knock, Finn got up to open the door, it was his sister, he resembled his older sister alot, everything was the same from hair-color, eye-color.

She walked in, as she scanned the room, "So, you three wanted to meet me?" She asked, I nodded. "What is it?" "Phi, Please have a seat." I said as I got up and asked her to sit on the study table chair. I put on the tape recorder, "Today is 12th February, 2018." "What are you all doing?" "Phi Nami, Please ask all your questions after I am done asking you all the questions and the recording is complete, Please?" "Okay." "So, Phi Nami, How old are you?" "I am 18 years old," "How long have you known Leo?" I could see her eyes widening, "For two years." "Do you know at which date he died?" "24th of January 2018." "And do you remember before his attempt of suicide, How he was acting?" "He looked normal, as always bubbly and cheerful." "There was no sign of depression?" "Even though I didn't know him for long I at least know he could never take steps towards that path to death." "So, are you saying it is a murder?" "Probably, I am not sure." "Do you suspect anyone?" "Mr Kai, he was always mean to everyone and he had called upon Leo many times, he can be the only one I suspect." "Any Student?" "I would say Zane, but then again he could just be working for Mr Kai." "Thank You, Phi Nami." "Anytime." 

I turned off the recorder and looked at Phi Nami again, "Now, your turn, you can ask us questions." I said, "Who are you? And why were you asking for Leo?" "I am Ace, this is my sister Amy. This is my best friend since my childhood Felix. And I and Amy are the younger siblings of Leo Hunter." Phi Nami nodded, "Explains a lot, are you here to find what happened to your brother?" She asked, "That's right, Phi." Amy replied. 

"Well then I wish you luck, it will be hard but I hope for the best." She said, we thanked her. She left, Amy left with her too.

That's such a relief, good people still exist. Finn sat on his study table. He was a big fan of anime, he would always watch anime before going for dinner. 

Felix pulled me towards himself , "Why were you blushing so much today during lunch break?" "What now? I wasn't." "Ace, are you already falling for someone?" He said his voice sounded playful, "No, Man, I am not, I very well know where my mind should be concentrated on." "Good for you, Ace." He said as he smiled teasingly and walked and sat beside Finn. 

Two days later, everything was going smoothly but we found nothing for real. Like no information about my Big'B. 

I wore my jacket, Felix went to class earlier. Finn was waiting for me, "Come on, Ace, Who are you dressing up for ha?" Finn asked, who am I dressing up for? Zane… Why did his name come to my mind? "Man, No one, Finn." 

I hit him lightly. "Come on," We both walked towards our class. Suddenly, Zane passed by us, in the corridor. "Mr Ace and Finn?" We heard him call our name, we both looked at each other and slowly turned around to face Zane. 

"You both have been looking around the campus for something for a long time, yesterday. What were you both looking for?" Zane asked. Well, this is true me and Finn have been looking around the campus for something suspicious but found nothing. Well Felix and Amy were busy making friends and just like me Finn is also not good at socializing so he has been helping me. 

"Well- well we both were looking for my notebook," "Found it?" "Yes!" Finn said, Zane nodded. "And you Ace, what were you looking for?" He asked looking at me, "I-I" "He was helping me-" Finn said as he pulled my hoodie's cap up on me, why would he do that? "Was he?" "Yes!" "Why don't you let him say?" "He was with me. I know what he was doing, So it doesn't matter if I say it or he says it." "Still-" I interrupted Phi Zane and said, "Phi we are getting late to our class." He looked at me for a second and then nodded, "But, I am not done with you both, I'll question you both later." He said and left.

We both sigh in relief. "Why did you pull my cap up?" I asked him, "Your ears turn red whenever you try to lie," He said chuckling, "Ahh- Well, I get nervous whenever I try to lie." Finn nodded, "It's a good sign of personality." 

Finn walked ahead, as I looked at him. It actually feels good to make new friends. "Wait for me, Finny." I ran behind him. We reached our class, Felix was sitting at his place talking to his friends. Me and Finn get to our seats in the back. 

"Ace, how will we move ahead without even a single clue of that day?" He asked me, "Finn, I have no idea." I said as I looked out of the window, he ruffled my hair, "Gotta work harder."

The class started, I sigh. What will I even do? I don't have any clue of that day. We don't have a lot of time because in March there will be summer break. Then there is no chance for us to come and visit the school before the break. 

Mr Hegel walked in, he is our history teacher. He started teaching while everyone was paying attention but me. I was still busy wondering what our next step would be? And how to keep out of Zane's sight. 

"Today, I'll give you an assignment. You have to submit it before the summer break." Mr Hegel said, "I have given you enough time to go browse around the library. You can't use the internet." He added. "And I allow you all to choose your own partner. Please create a duo. No groups." 

Oh, Well. I looked at Felix and then at Finn. What if they choose each other or what if I have to choose one of them? "Finn and Ace, you both should do it together. Since I have created many other friends I'll find myself one-" "You can be my partner," Our eyes went over to the person, William, also known as Willy. Okay, now I do had one more friend. 

Willy was our childhood friend too, but after middle school he went to the states for further studies. "When did you arrive back, Willy?" I asked as I looked at him, He chuckled as he said, "A while ago." "Explains why we didn't see you at the welcome party." Felix said, he nodded. "By the way, Ace, I heard about Leo-" "Willy! Let's talk about that later, Please?" I said, he was confused but he nodded anyway.
