At first, Mira had sat imposingly on the chair, trying to appear like a proud queen, but she quickly softened her posture at the owner’s behest. Her attempt to look cool had been thwarted, but as she sat the way the owner indicated, she instead looked like a timid princess, which aligned more with the owner’s tastes.
「Yes, that’s exactly it! That’s pure beauty with nothing distracting from it! Just perfect!」
The owner’s voice quivered with excitement seeing that he had managed to accentuate the sweetness within Mira’s small body, and he pressed the shutter. After a short pause, he exclaimed, 「I think I just took the best picture ever!」 raising his hands to the heavens like he was ready to ascend to another plane.
「Ohh, good. Then I know the spirits will be safe.」
Judging from his reaction, Mira guessed that the owner had managed to take a picture that would properly serve as proof of spirits living in antiques, saving them from a bleak future. With her work there done, she stood up, but then was quickly stopped by the owner.
「Ah, please wait a bit. Please let me take a few more, just in case. Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether the focus or exposure was right on the first shot.」
He seemed sorry for holding her up, but he was also determined to extend their session for a bit longer. He believed he had gotten the perfect shot, but he wanted to have a few backups in case something had gone wrong.
「I see… I guess it’s better to be safe.」
Mira glanced at the camera, propped on a tripod, and muttered that. She had finally realized that there was no way that was a digital camera. All cameras in this world had been developed by former players, utilizing their previous knowledge. But as Solomon had told her before, digital cameras required intricate electronics and other technology that had not been developed yet, so all the cameras out in the world still relied on film.
In other words, the camera the owner had used was also a film camera. And unlike with digital cameras, it was impossible to see the resulting photograph instantly without developing the film first. If that first picture had any issues, and it was the only one they had taken, all their efforts would have been for nothing.
Mira understood the owner’s concerns, so she sat down on the sofa and took the same pose as earlier, smugly saying, 「I’m ready whenever you are.」
「Thank you very much, then…」
The owner thanked her, and then prepared the camera again and pressed the shutter. Then he repeated, 「One more, just in case,」 and took a third picture.
「I think I’ve gotten some really nice pictures thanks to you.」
He smiled as he said that, but then he narrowed his eyes, took the camera off the tripod, and began pacing around the studio, looking at Mira and the surroundings with a strange look.
「Now that I think about it, maybe a different angle would accentuate your charms even more…」
He seemed almost hesitant to say that, but he still wanted to keep taking more pictures. But then he became more insistent, saying that a breathtaking picture would spread even faster amongst the people.
That way it would not just reach those interested in antiques, but regular people as well. That could lead to more people looking into antiques, growing the overall market, and raising the chances of an antique with a spirit living in it being traded, while improving the way they would be treated. The owner listed all of that in rapid succession.
「Hmm… I’m not sure I follow…」
Mira felt like the previous pictures had been good enough, as the owner himself had said that. But she knew little of marketing and advertising, so she just looked slightly confused by it all.
That prompted the owner to become even more insistent.
「If I was shooting an average model then yes, that would have been good enough. But things are different with you! Your angelic beauty can blast right past the limits of what’s good enough! But that can’t be accomplished by limiting ourselves to one position. I need to try out other angles to know just how far we can go!」
The owner was nearly shouting as he spoke now, his enthusiasm palpable as he looked at Mira and announced, 「Only you, the Spirit Queen, can make that possible.」
「Oh…something only I can do?」
「Yes, I can’t imagine anyone else accomplishing it.」
That was a very short exchange, but it was enough for Mira to make up her mind.
While that picture would serve to advertise the shop, it would also become a herald for spirits living in furniture, announcing their existence. Mira wanted to prioritize that above all else, so she agreed to do anything that would help those spirits.
「Alright then. Let’s take the best picture to convince everyone about spirits living in antiques!」
She made her decision, struck a defiant pose, and looked at the camera, grinning confidently.
「Thank you very much. Ahh, what an alluring smile, it’s incredible!」
The owner’s voice increased in pitch as he shouted and instantly snapped another picture. After that, he kept moving around to continue taking pictures from all angles he could think of.
「Yes, that’s just it! Perfect, splendid even! That smile is worth millions! Okay, now look up here! Nice one! Now let’s try one from below!…」
The owner’s enthusiasm knew no bounds, and as things continued, he really seemed like an eccentric photographer. He moved around not wanting to waste a single inch of Mira’s charms, capturing her from every direction imaginable. The instructions he periodically shouted out also made Mira bring forth more of her cute side, as well as the devilish allure she was capable of mustering.
「Is this good?」
Infected by the owner’s energy, Mira did everything he asked. From dignified portraits befitting of the name of Spirit Queen, to gravure shots of her lying down across the sofa. From cute and endearing pictures, to more sexy poses, and everything in between.
「That’s exactly what I want! Magnificent!」
The owner also looked like he was the happiest man alive as he continued photographing Mira.
Everything had started with his love for antiques, and it was continuing under that guise, but as he continued to press the shutter button, and as Mira changed poses, the intentions behind his eyes also gradually changed.
「Nice one, and we’re… done!」
Finally, the roll of film ran out, with the last frame being a sexy shot of Mira from the ground, almost like she was propped to be licked from the feet up. After taking that picture, the owner rolled around the floor in ecstasy, his eyes that were filled with love and lust slowly closed, as if he had fulfilled his lifelong desires and was ready to move on to the afterlife.
That had been his main goal, to capture in film everything he saw in Mira.
At the same time, those pictures would usher in a new generation for antiques, especially those condemned for being haunted when in reality they simply were inhabited by spirits.
The owner felt like he had truly been blessed by divinity, with his line of business likely improving soon, while also having obtained an invaluable treasure for himself.
