Chapter 38: Chapter 38 – Survival for Atsushi
Third person POV
Because of that, Atsushi knew that he was on his own and had to fend for himself. So, the young boy packed up his backpack and left the house. Along the way, Atsushi saw the ruins of the apocalypse. He also feared for his life, looking around his surroundings almost every time and staying very vigilant.
And then, at an intersection, Atsushi saw a beastman and became instantly afraid of it. That huge beast of the apocalypse then noticed him and proceeded to kill him by turning one of its hands into a spinning drill and lunging at him. Atsushi was afraid and took cover, bracing for the impact. But then, Saya sprang into action within him by using her supernatural powers to collapse a nearby building's supporting beams and concrete walls facing the beastman. She did so, and the building fell on the beastman, crushing it. Atsushi saw that and was relieved, before running off and leaving the scene.
For the next few days, Atsushi had been hiding and surviving on scarce food rations and tap water. For shelter, he used the Tokyo Subway's abandoned underground stations as temporary shelters. Atsushi also used the tunnels as safer and alternative routes for navigation.
