SCP: A TRUE ANOMALY

Chapter 6: Experiment 4 - Overwhelmed heart

After the experiment with SCP-131-A and SCP-131-B, Dr. Alexander Grimm decided to see how would SCP-9743 react towards high level of ecstasy that SCP-999 demonstrated to provide.

After a moment, SCP-9743 saw how SCP-999 entered inside, and his first reaction was while he was with his arms crossed, rise his right hand and place his finger under the bottom of his lips, and giggle.

As SCP-999 slowly moved closer and closer, SCP-9743's expression remained one of sympathy and amusement while giggling. Once SCP-999 was close enough, SCP-9743 moved down, and opened his arms widely, open for bring a hug.

Once SCP-9743 touched SCP-999, it hugged it quickly, but before he could get up, he fell down, as SCP-999 was hugging him back, and slowly hugging more of him, while SCP-9743 seemed to not be able to do anything, as if got paralyzed.

The Research Team observed tears fall from SCP-9743's eyes, and then more, and after low time, followed by saliva falling from SCP-9743's mouth.

After the interaction, despite not be touched, a sudden accidental touch of a guard, when trying to separate SCP-999 from SCP-9743, even provoked the same effect SCP-999's touch provided, as SCP-9743 was sensible for contact, and any physical contact would provoke the same reaction SCP-999 would produce.

Evaluation Report by Dr. Alexander Grimm on SCP-9743's Interaction with SCP-999

Experiment Overview:

The objective of this experiment was to analyze SCP-9743's reaction to SCP-999, an anomaly known for inducing extreme euphoria and uncontrollable laughter in subjects through physical contact. The test was conducted to gauge SCP-9743's susceptibility to emotional influence and to determine whether SCP-999's unique properties could affect SCP-9743 in an anomalous or unexpected manner.

Initial Reaction to SCP-999's Presence:

Upon SCP-999's entry, SCP-9743 exhibited an immediate and positive emotional response. The distinct giggle and thoughtful gesture (placing a finger under the lip) suggested a blend of curiosity, amusement, and perhaps anticipation. SCP-9743's open-armed posture indicated a willingness to engage physically with SCP-999, marking a significant shift from its typically cautious or analytical demeanor.

This level of openness was unexpected, given SCP-9743's earlier interactions with SCP-131, where its initial reaction leaned more toward wariness and calculated behavior. SCP-9743's approachability in this instance suggests an affinity for SCP-999's inherently joyful and non-threatening nature.

Physical Interaction and Resulting Effects:

When SCP-9743 embraced SCP-999, the response was immediate and profound. SCP-9743 collapsed to the ground, indicating an inability to maintain motor control, likely a result of SCP-999's euphoric properties. Observed symptoms during the interaction included:

Paralysis: SCP-9743 appeared unable to move independently after initial contact, remaining prone on the floor. Emotional Overflow: Tears began streaming from SCP-9743's eyes almost immediately, indicating an overwhelming emotional response. The visible drooling further underscored the profound effect SCP-999's anomalous properties had on SCP-9743's autonomic and emotional systems.

This reaction was markedly more extreme than the typical euphoric responses exhibited by baseline humans and other entities during SCP-999 interactions.

Post-Interaction Observations:

Notably, after SCP-999 was separated from SCP-9743, SCP-9743 demonstrated heightened sensitivity to physical contact. When a guard attempting to retrieve SCP-999 accidentally brushed against SCP-9743, the effects mirrored those induced by SCP-999 itself. The guard's touch triggered an identical emotional and physical reaction in SCP-9743, including tearful euphoria and loss of motor function.

This phenomenon suggests that SCP-9743's interaction with SCP-999 may have altered its physiology or sensitivity temporarily, rendering it anomalously responsive to physical stimuli. This effect could potentially extend to other types of contact, warranting further investigation.

Behavioral and Anomalous Analysis:

Emotional Susceptibility:

SCP-9743 displayed an extraordinary degree of emotional vulnerability during this experiment. The tears, drooling, and physical collapse suggest SCP-999's properties may have bypassed SCP-9743's cognitive and emotional defenses, overwhelming it entirely. This level of response implies that SCP-9743's emotional state is more fragile or malleable than previously assumed.

Extended Sensitivity Post-Contact:

The lingering sensitivity to physical contact is particularly noteworthy. SCP-9743's altered state may indicate that SCP-999's anomalous properties introduced a temporary shift in SCP-9743's neurochemical or metaphysical composition, amplifying its susceptibility to tactile stimuli.

Potential Anomalous Resonance:

SCP-999's ability to amplify euphoria in SCP-9743 suggests that the two anomalies may share an unexpected compatibility or resonance. Whether SCP-999's influence is magnified by SCP-9743's physiology or if SCP-9743 harbors latent traits that amplify external anomalous effects remains unclear.

Implications and Risks:

Containment Considerations:

SCP-9743's heightened sensitivity to physical contact poses a potential risk during routine containment procedures. All personnel interacting with SCP-9743 post-experiment should wear insulated gloves or maintain a no-contact policy to prevent accidental triggering of euphoric paralysis.

Emotional Vulnerability:

The profound emotional response suggests SCP-9743 may be influenced by anomalies capable of inducing psychological or emotional states. This raises concerns about the potential for external manipulation by other anomalies or hostile entities.

Future Testing:

Additional experiments should explore the duration and reversibility of SCP-9743's post-contact sensitivity. Controlled interactions with other entities capable of inducing emotional or tactile responses may clarify whether SCP-999's effects are unique or part of a broader pattern.

Recommendations:

Observation Period:

SCP-9743 should be monitored for at least 72 hours post-experiment to determine whether its heightened sensitivity diminishes over time. Any further displays of anomalous tactile responses should be documented and analyzed.

Controlled Stimulus Testing:

Future testing should include exposure to non-anomalous tactile stimuli (e.g., synthetic materials) to determine if SCP-9743's sensitivity is limited to organic or anomalous contact. This could provide insight into the nature and scope of SCP-999's influence.

Emotional State Analysis:

SCP-9743's emotional vulnerability during this experiment warrants closer examination of its psychological profile. Assessing its baseline emotional state and resilience may inform containment strategies and testing protocols.

Caution with SCP-999:

While SCP-999's interactions generally produce harmless results, its profound effect on SCP-9743 underscores the need for caution. SCP-999 should not be reintroduced into SCP-9743's containment until further analysis is completed.

Conclusion:

SCP-9743's interaction with SCP-999 revealed an unexpected susceptibility to euphoria-inducing stimuli, coupled with a residual hypersensitivity to physical contact. This experiment underscores the complexity of SCP-9743's physiology and psychology, highlighting both vulnerabilities and potential risks. Further study is imperative to understand the full scope of SCP-9743's reactions and their implications for containment and interaction protocols.
