Chapter 16: Pizza time
After leading SCP-9743 to a containment chamber that fits better with his anomalous abilities to contain him. Some of the Research Team went for slices of pizza, as it was Wednesday, and from early morning, they had working.
While the Research Team was having their delicious pizza, SCP-9743 remained sitting against a wall, completely bored and in wait for anything to happen, but after waiting, he hadn't the patience for wait doing nothing, he was impatience when was alone and not doing anything, and in his new containment chamber, the cameras seemed to working, what was making SCP-9743 as someone was observing him, when in reality, no one was, and the cameras were just recording.
Few moments passed, and SCP-9743 got unable to keep waiting for anything to happen, so he teleported away.
SCP-9743 teleported to hallway of the level 3 of Site 19, and then started to wander around. On his way, he encountered a group of guards, but by being completely new in the Foundation, low amount of personnel really knew something about him, so SCP-9743 got a wave of questions. His human appear was the key to mimic and fake, with lies, he told that he forgot his coat after washing it, as had to get quickly to help.
The lies were suspicious, and yet, they did seem to work, but though, he managed to dodge and evade the questions with lies.
SCP-9743: "Yeah, I'm just stupid some times... But hey! I was called, and I'm new. I had to go yes or yes."
Guard 3: "Alright. What's your name?"
SCP-9743: "I'm Raziel, I told you I'm new."
Guard 1: "Any identification?"
SCP-9743: Faking sadness and acting. "In my coat..."
Guard 1: "And where is your equipment?"
SCP-9743: "In my locker."
Guard 2: "And where are you going?"
SCP-9743: "Where everyone else is going, obviously."
SCP-9743 felt risking with everything in that last answer, but for his surprise, that was what made the guards fall in the trap. The guards allowed SCP-9743 to continue wandering around without knowing he was a SCP in the first place. SCP-9743 successfully, continued his way, and felt very proud of himself.
After a moment, he started smelling something that made him instantly hungry. He followed the smell, until he suddenly heard someone through the audio, telling about everyone going to the cafeteria, it's pizza day.
The words 'Pizza day' rebounded inside SCP-9743's mind, and he went to find where the cafeteria was. Now, he was determined to get one for himself.
After a moment, he easily reached the cafeteria, as he saw the movement of scientists and guards. Somehow, everyone was so distracted, he managed to walk aside, and go through the multitude without being caught.
Once inside, he saw all the pizza, and got able to get one for himself, but when he was going to start enjoying, Dr. Alexander Grimm and his team, noticed SCP-9743 being there, so they gave the alarm, and everyone panicked, included SCP-9743 as didn't expect the sudden alarm, much less so close to him. Was way too loud for his like, so he placed his hands on his ears to protect them, but quickly, everyone in the cafeteria was observing him, he got caught now, and was by his Research Team.
SCP-9743 looked around, wondering what was going on, as slowly me moved down his hands, and trying to bite the slice of pizza, but quickly had all the guards inside the cafeteria aiming at him.
SCP-9743: "Hey! You had me all day, even from the early morning, like a prisoner! You then sent me to meet against my own will weird stuff and people, and placed me to fight a reptile, a megalomaniac, and who proclaimed God! I Demand my rights!"
SCP-9743 took a bite of the slice of his hands, and then crossed his hands, while looked directly at Dr. Alexander Grimm with a mad expression.
As soon as SCP-9743 finishes his outburst, the room becomes tense. The guards are still holding their weapons, unsure whether to take further action. The alarm blares in the background, adding to the chaotic atmosphere. SCP-9743, still holding the pizza slice, stands defiantly, his expression a mixture of frustration and anger, as though he's daring someone to challenge him.
Dr. Grimm, who has been observing the scene with an increasingly serious expression, steps forward. He raises a hand, signaling the guards to lower their weapons. There's a tense pause before he speaks calmly and authoritatively.
Dr. Grimm: "SCP-9743, I understand that you're upset. You've been subjected to a lot of stress today, and your frustration is noted. But that behavior is not acceptable here. We have protocols in place for a reason, and I will not tolerate any further disruptions."
SCP-9743 doesn't react, but look slightly around, while takes another bite of the slice on his hands. For him, he never was called as SCP-9743 directly, so is not a name he sees or thinks is he's, or even to mention him, so he struggles in see to who is Dr. Alexander Grimm referring to.
Dr. Grimm: "I understand you're frustrated. You've been through a lot today, but this behavior can't continue. You need to realize that you're not just some... guest here. This is about safety, for you and for everyone else. We don't want to treat you like a prisoner, but you can't just act however you please."
SCP-9743: "Sure. Said by who? I woke up here yesterday in an empty room by myself, and with cameras in that room. And then used for meet weird stuff and fight, having to kill to protect myself. You say I can't act however I want, well, you can't imprison me however you want neither."
Dr. Grimm listens carefully, taking in SCP-9743's words. There's a quiet understanding in his eyes, but he remains resolute in his stance. He takes a deep breath, keeping his tone level.
Dr. Grimm: Calmly but with a firm edge. "I'm not denying that what you've experienced has been difficult. But I also need you to understand that you're not the only one in a situation that feels out of control. We all have our roles to play here, and while you may not see it yet, this structure is necessary for your own safety as well as ours. You aren't imprisoned; you're under observation, for both your well-being and ours."
Dr. Grimm pauses, letting his words sink in. He watches for any sign that SCP-9743 might reconsider his stance, though he knows it's unlikely to be an easy conversation.
Dr. Grimm: Slightly softer. "I know it's hard. I know you didn't ask for this, and you didn't choose this life. But right now, this is where we stand. And we're trying to find a way to make it work. But you need to meet us halfway. That's the only way this can move forward."
SCP-9743 remains eating the slice of pizza, and once finishes, grabs other, and continue like that while half listens to Dr. Alexander Grimm, but his expression during Dr. Grimm's monologue is one of being tired, but mostly, neutral and careless, as he remains staring at Dr. Grimm with an empty stare.
SCP-9743: "Well, first, stop aiming me, because I didn't do anything, unless you want me to aim too. Second of all, I demand my rights. Third of all, tell me before hand how you're gonna call me, because if you call me by however you want, while I don't know, I'm not going to answer, so... That weird number thing nickname... You could at least have told me you were gonna call me like that. Fourth of all, how could you not share this? Pizza day, and after having to kill an old man, a reptile, and a megalomaniac, and also died, I don't have the slight right for even a slice? I did the hardest part, and I wasn't going to get anything, no?"
Then, SCP-9743 continue to enjoy the slices of pizza, continue eating, while his stare was still mad.
Dr. Grimm stands there, silently absorbing SCP-9743's words. The calm demeanor he had been trying to maintain starts to show signs of strain, but he doesn't interrupt. The room is filled with a strange stillness, the only sound being the crunch of pizza as SCP-9743 continues to eat, his gaze unwavering and full of frustration.
Dr. Grimm's jaw tightens slightly, but he takes a slow, measured breath before responding. There's an underlying sense of conflict in his mind—he's used to maintaining control in these situations, but this one is different. SCP-9743's words, though tinged with anger and defiance, hold some truth. However, Dr. Grimm knows the importance of maintaining authority and structure.
Dr. Grimm:"You're right that you haven't done anything here yet. But I can't ignore your actions earlier or the potential risk you represent. You may not understand the full context, but your presence here—your abilities—have a very real impact on everyone around you. And as for your 'name,' that's something we can discuss, but there's no easy way to explain the designation. It's part of the system we use."
Dr. Grimm takes another step forward, lowering his tone slightly to make sure his next words are clear.
Dr. Grimm: Gently, though still firm. "As for the pizza, I don't disagree. You've been through a lot today, and yes, you've fought, and you've survived. But you need to understand that this is still an environment where certain rules are in place for everyone's safety. You're not entitled to everything just because of your struggles. We're trying to make sure you're comfortable, but that means working together, not just taking what you want."
Dr. Grimm watches as SCP-9743 continues eating, seemingly unmoved. The challenge is clear in SCP-9743's demeanor, but Dr. Grimm's resolve doesn't waver.
SCP-9743 finishes another slice and after swallowing, snaps his right fingers, and a wave of medium size skulls with horns started to fly behind SCP-9743, aiming all around the cafeteria. But made everyone tense a lot more, and the guards struggle in not shooting.
SCP-9743: "Now is more fair. You're aiming me, and I'm aiming you. However, I don't know what I was spectating from a human. You wanna talk? Fine by me. But take this in consideration... You're still alive because I didn't wanted to kill you. The same thing I tell you as I told that girl with the portfolio with the questions and that. I don't who brought me here, or how I ended here, but you're responsible. If you want me to not destroy this place where I got imprisoned, neither kill everyone here that for me work along in imprisoning me... Mutual benefit."
The tension in the room immediately spikes. The guards freeze, their weapons still raised, but their fingers hovering over the triggers, unsure of what to do. The skulls with horns circle ominously behind SCP-9743, their eerie, unnatural flight adding an extra layer of intimidation to the already volatile situation. Dr. Grimm stands still for a moment, the weight of SCP-9743's words sinking in. There's a flicker of concern in his eyes, but it's quickly masked by a renewed sense of composure.
Dr. Grimm knows this is a delicate moment. Any wrong move could escalate things further. He doesn't flinch at the appearance of the skulls but takes a calculated step back, holding his hands up slightly in a gesture of de-escalation.
Dr. Grimm: Keeping his voice even but firm, with a hint of seriousness "I'm aware of your power, SCP-9743. And I'm aware of your frustrations. But threatening everyone in this room, including those who are only here to ensure your safety, won't solve anything. I understand that you didn't ask to be here, that you didn't choose this situation. But you need to understand that you're not the only one who has responsibilities. You may not know why you're here, but I do know one thing—I'm not the one who brought you here, and I can't change that. What I can do, though, is try to find a solution that doesn't involve destruction."
He pauses, allowing the weight of his words to settle in. He then glances at the guards, signaling them to lower their weapons but with caution, making sure they remain alert.
Dr. Grimm: Carefully but with authority. "Mutual benefit, yes. But we also need trust. I'm not going to pretend I can just give you everything you want. However, if you're willing to work with us—if you're willing to stay here without further threats of destruction—then maybe we can start to understand each other. But you need to make the choice. You can either continue down this path, and we'll treat you as a threat, or we can try to find a way to make this work."
He then gives SCP-9743 a moment, watching his every move, as if testing whether he'll follow through on his threat or if there's a chance for dialogue.
SCP-9743: "Well, how about starting to stop aiming at me because wanted? Because if is for who is a threat, you all were a threat for me, and I didn't react like how you did. If you're expecting me to be like a dog, no. I don't know how many threats I felt here against me, and yet, I remained without threatening anyone. Well, I don't care. If you want something, gain it. If you want me to be helpful, be helpful with me." SCP-9743 opens big his mouth, and quickly eats a slice of pizza, and after some moments, he swallows, and opens his eyes again, but now has no pupils, and his voice sounds deeper. SCP-9743: "I won't say it twice. Stop threatening me already, either with guns, or either having to deal with weird stuff or fighting and killing."ChatGPT PlusChatGPT
The atmosphere becomes even more charged. The moment SCP-9743's eyes change, the tension in the room escalates. The lack of pupils, paired with his deeper voice, is an unmistakable sign that his threat is far from idle. The skulls behind him flicker ominously, a reminder of his ability to unleash destruction at a moment's notice. The guards hesitate, their hands twitching near their weapons but unsure whether to act.
Dr. Grimm watches carefully, his face hardening as he processes the situation. He takes a deep breath, carefully considering his next words. He knows that he's walking a fine line—SCP-9743's words have made it clear that he's not to be treated like a prisoner or a pet, and any further escalation could lead to disaster. But Dr. Grimm is also aware that the situation requires a level of diplomacy, something that SCP-9743 might not fully understand or appreciate yet.
He takes a step forward again, his posture rigid, but his expression softer, as if trying to find common ground with SCP-9743.
Dr. Grimm: Calm but firm. "I'm not here to threaten you, SCP-9743. I'm here to make sure we don't escalate things further. No one is trying to treat you like a dog or a prisoner. But you need to understand that there are boundaries, and there are rules that everyone must follow. We're not your enemies, but you can't continue to behave as though there are no consequences. If we're going to have any sort of cooperation, there needs to be a mutual understanding. Your threats won't get you the cooperation you want. If anything, they'll force us to respond with force."
Dr. Grimm pauses for a moment, his gaze steady and unwavering.
Dr. Grimm (softer, almost in a tone of explanation): "We've been trying to find a way to help you. But we need you to stop acting as though we are the ones who caused your pain. You're here now, and while that may not be fair, we can try to work through this. But it has to be a two-way street. If you want us to stop treating you as a threat, you need to start treating us with some level of respect and cooperation."
He steps back slightly, still observing SCP-9743's every move, waiting to see how he reacts. There's a moment of silence, and then Dr. Grimm continues in a more measured tone.
Dr. Grimm (tentative but understanding): "If you want your rights, we can talk about that. But there are processes in place. You don't have to feel like you're being ignored or mistreated. But if you want help, you have to let us help. Let's try to work together instead of against each other."
For a moment, SCP-9743 focuses on finish the pizza, and then gets up, and with a sudden move, moves his left hand and throws the table to his left, crashing it against the wall and going through. Then, turns and takes steps towards Dr. Alexander Grimm, while his eyes are still empty, and his voice deep.
SCP-9743: "Human, let me be straight with you. You're asking me for be submissive and docile, doing anything you say and want me to do. I already helped, even considering everything a threat, and yet, I don't see anything in return. YOU should be the one begging me to help, not me having to even work extra harder to gain your trust!"
SCP-9743 rises his right hand and with a finger, points at Dr. Alexander Grimm, and does slight pushes at Dr. Grimm's left shoulder each time he says a sentence.
SCP-9743: "I destroyed my world. I got my free will. I got my freedom. I'm not going back to how it was. For the good side, I can be the most kind you could ever think or need, but on the bad side, I'm the worst and most sadistic demon that will make you pray to kill you. I'm not going to continue talking, it's either fight, or you start begging me to help you, because for me... I don't need any of you, or your cooperation with me. I don't need anyone, YOU need me. I killed your so supposed God, I killed a huge reptile, and I killed a megalomaniac that revives unlimited time for what I think. If will be by rules, it will be different, because those rules are for your benefit and make me submit to you. I'm not going to neither accept that, or even think that as option. Decide, human. Fight me. Or spare by begging. Because what comes next, is not a fight, but a massacre..."
SCP-9743 lowers down his right hand, and remains staring at Dr. Alexander Grimm.
Dr. Grimm: "You're right, SCP-9743. We do need you. Your strength, your abilities—they're unmatched. But let me ask you this: if you destroy this place, if you kill everyone here, what then? Will you wander endlessly, fighting and killing until there's nothing left? Is that the freedom you want? Or do you want more? We can give you more. But only if you meet us halfway. I'm not begging, and I won't. But I am offering you a choice. Work with us, and we'll work with you. Refuse, and the chaos you unleash will only bring you back to square one. Think about it."
SCP-9743: "... Then I'll simply have all of your souls, and simply take everything I want from this place. If you're expecting me to do the first step, you're very wrong. I'm tired of that, I'm tired of humans like you, and in general. You know why in the first place I became the demon I am? Let me tell you, because is very simple."
Suddenly, the door of the cafeteria opens and some guards enter, they brought SCP-999 as always work to calm but... SCP-9743 by hearing the sound of the door, does a quick turn to the left, raising his left hand, taking the few guards along SCP-999 with a blue aura, and crashing them against the wall of their right after entering, and then, blue bones pierced them. For everyone's surprise, except SCP-999 because doesn't understand anything basically, the few guards relax as are fine, but unable to move, but alive.
SCP-9743 slowly turns back to look at Dr. Alexander Grimm, still with no pupils and an expression of deep menace.
SCP-9743: "BECAUSE. OF. Y O U.. Because of humans I became who I am right now. Because of humans I did what I did. Because of humans I KILLED THEM ALL ENDLESS OF TIMES! BECAUSE OF HUMANS I HAD TO GO THROUGH THE HELL YOU PLACED ME IN! YOU WANT ME TO COOPERATE? GAIN ME! DESERVE ME!"
Dr. Grimm: "I hear you, SCP-9743. I truly do. You've been wronged, forced to endure things no being should have to. But this? This won't get you what you want. You want us to deserve you? Fine. Let us try. But first, you need to let us live long enough to make things right. Put the power down, and let's start over."
SCP-9743 examines for a moment Dr. Grimm's face. SCP-9743's breath is deep and slightly shaky, but Dr. Grimm can easily notice the anger in SCP-9743 breathing.
SCP-9743: "And what do I get? I have everything I want and need in my void. If you want me to cooperate and stay, what I get? Because I know what you would get."
Dr. Grimm: "What you get, SCP-9743, is respect—genuine, earned respect. Not fear, not control, but an acknowledgment of your power and your individuality. I'm not asking you to be something you're not. I'm asking you to give us a chance to prove we're not like the humans who wronged you before. Isn't that fair?"
SCP-9743: "Nah. You want time to prepare against me, but let me tell you. I didn't showed you all I can do. Bones, blasters, teleport, and telekinesis by manipulating anyone's gravity... It's just basic I have. I don't know how many things you have obtained from me by what you saw, but is not enough for all I can do. Besides, for me, neither life is fair, neither any of you is. You ask me to give you time... But I know for what you want that time. I don't want respect, because I know from you it doesn't have any value."
Dr. Grimm: "Fairness, value, respect—your words show you've already decided what we are and what we can offer you. But let me make one thing clear: whatever power you have, you're here now. And if we were truly as valueless as you claim, you wouldn't even entertain this conversation. So, let's stop the pretense. What is it that you want, SCP-9743?"
SCP-9743: "You know what? You're right in that. You all are worthless, and seem very useless."
In an instant, everything suddenly is just darkness, and the next instant, Dr. Grimm sees how all the cafeteria is covered in blood and death, bones shattering from the walls, ground and ceiling, piercing through everyone as scientists and guards. Then, Dr. Grimm looks at SCP-9743, who is taunting him by holding a Level 3 Keycard.
SCP-9743: "Better start running. I'll be on shopping, but before that..."
Then, SCP-9743 raises his left hand, and from all the bodies leaves a trail of different color from each body, and each trail becomes a heart. SCP-9743 then moves his left hand and a portal with glitch effects and particles opens. Once SCP-9743 moves back his left hand, the hearts are no longer floating up of his left hand, and the portal closes.
SCP-9743: "Call for reinforcement. Entertain me, human."
Then, all goes black in an instant, but in the next, Dr. Grimm now doesn't see SCP-9743 in the cafeteria, but SCP-999 seems to be the only thing alive, apart of himself. Quickly, Dr. Grimm grabs SCP-999, and it makes him feel better.
Incident Report: SCP-9743 "Pizza Day Containment Breach" (Final Correction)
Compiled by: Dr. Alexander Grimm and Dr. Sophia Adler
Date: 03/16/2022
Incident Location: Site-19 Cafeteria
Overview of the Incident
The "Pizza Day Containment Breach" highlights SCP-9743's unbridled destructive potential, psychological dominance, and its ability to manipulate time to enact catastrophic scenarios. This incident underscores the need for immediate reevaluation of containment protocols and a deeper understanding of SCP-9743's behavior and capabilities.
The event resulted in significant loss of personnel, as SCP-9743 used its anomalous abilities to wipe out a large portion of the cafeteria's occupants. This carnage was carried out during a paused timeline, ensuring no chance of retaliation or resistance.
Timeline of Events
1. Initial Containment and Impatience SCP-9743, relocated to a reinforced containment chamber, became visibly impatient and agitated when left unmonitored. The lack of interaction exacerbated its aversion to isolation, prompting it to teleport out of its cell.
2. Encounter with Guards SCP-9743 encountered guards while wandering the Site-19 hallways. By fabricating a false identity as a new researcher, SCP-9743 successfully deceived the guards and continued exploring the facility undetected.
3. Arrival at the Cafeteria SCP-9743 entered the cafeteria, blending into the crowd of personnel and acquiring a slice of pizza. Dr. Alexander Grimm and his Research Team identified SCP-9743, triggering an alarm. This caused widespread panic, drawing attention to SCP-9743, who expressed frustration at the disruption and the perceived unfairness of its treatment.
4. Outburst and Escalation SCP-9743 accused the Foundation of imprisoning and exploiting it while providing no compensation or acknowledgment of its contributions. It summoned a swarm of horned skull constructs, which hovered menacingly, escalating the situation further.
5. Dr. Alexander Grimm's Attempt at De-Escalation Dr. Grimm attempted to defuse the situation through calm dialogue, acknowledging SCP-9743's grievances while emphasizing the importance of cooperation and safety protocols. SCP-9743 dismissed Dr. Grimm's arguments, asserting that the Foundation needed him more than he needed them and accusing them of failing to respect his autonomy.
6. Display of Power and Temporal Manipulation
In a sudden escalation, SCP-9743 plunged the cafeteria into complete darkness for an instant. When the lights returned, the room was transformed into a scene of carnage: blood covered the walls, and bones erupted from the ground, ceiling, and walls, impaling every individual present except Dr. Grimm and SCP-999.
SCP-9743 taunted Dr. Grimm, holding a Level 3 keycard and delivering the chilling line: "Better start running. I'll be on shopping, but before that..."
SCP-9743 raised its left hand and extracted visible energy trails from the bodies of the fallen personnel. These trails manifested as hearts, which SCP-9743 absorbed into its void via a glitching portal.
SCP-9743 concluded with a menacing declaration: "Call for reinforcements. Entertain me, human."
7. Aftermath The deaths caused by SCP-9743 were genuine and irreversible. The personnel present in the cafeteria at the time of the incident were confirmed deceased, their bodies left impaled by SCP-9743's bone constructs. SCP-9743 utilized its temporal manipulation to pause time, enact the massacre, and then resume normal time flow. From Dr. Grimm's perspective, the event appeared instantaneous, with no opportunity for prevention or retaliation. SCP-9743 vanished from the cafeteria after delivering its final taunt.
Dr. Grimm, left alive alongside SCP-999, quickly secured SCP-999 for comfort and stress relief. The cafeteria was sealed, and emergency containment measures were enacted as a search for SCP-9743 commenced.
Psychological and Behavioral Analysis
1. Aversion to Isolation
SCP-9743 demonstrates an extreme impatience and aversion to being left alone without stimulation or interaction. This impatience drives its defiance of containment measures and contributes to its willingness to breach containment.
2. Manipulative Behavior
SCP-9743 exhibits a high degree of cunning, using deception and psychological tactics to evade detection and dominate its environment. Its ability to fabricate identities and exploit social cues highlights its understanding of human behavior.
3. Relentless Hostility Toward Humanity
SCP-9743 harbors deep-seated resentment toward humans, stemming from past experiences that it perceives as betrayal and exploitation. This animosity drives its willingness to inflict mass casualties as a form of retribution.
4. Psychological Dominance
The cafeteria massacre serves as a stark example of SCP-9743's psychological warfare. By sparing Dr. Grimm and SCP-999 while slaughtering everyone else, SCP-9743 asserted its superiority and instilled fear, leaving no doubt about its power and control.
Anomalous Capabilities Demonstrated
1. Temporal Manipulation SCP-9743's ability to pause time and enact significant events while time is suspended represents one of its most dangerous capabilities.
2. Soul Manipulation SCP-9743's extraction and absorption of "souls" from deceased individuals further emphasize its metaphysical capabilities and its utilitarian view of souls as tools or resources.
3. Tactical Destruction SCP-9743's precise use of bone constructs to devastate the cafeteria highlights its ability to weaponize its surroundings with lethal efficiency.
4. Psychological Domination Through calculated carnage and taunting, SCP-9743 effectively destabilized its opposition without needing prolonged conflict. Containment Recommendations
Enhanced Monitoring and Anti-Teleportation Measures
Real-time surveillance is mandatory, with automated alerts for anomalous activity. Containment chambers must be equipped with temporal stabilizers and anti-teleportation fields.
Personnel Limitations and Training
Limit direct interaction with SCP-9743 to trained personnel. Guards and researchers must undergo specialized training to resist psychological manipulation.
Controlled Engagement
To prevent impatience-driven breaches, SCP-9743 should be provided with structured activities or controlled interactions to maintain mental stimulation without compromising containment.
Final Analysis
The "Pizza Day Containment Breach" highlights SCP-9743's unrelenting hostility, overwhelming power, and manipulative tendencies. While its destructive capabilities pose an existential threat, its willingness to engage in dialogue presents an opportunity for limited cooperation—provided the Foundation respects SCP-9743's autonomy and addresses its grievances.
Balancing containment, engagement, and safety will remain a delicate challenge as the Foundation continues to study and manage SCP-9743.
