Chapter 2 - Development technology
Chen Mo looked at the Dark Red Book on the table and walked over to open its cover gently.
Sure enough!
He was able to open the second page. Before he signed his name, he couldn’t turn to the book’s second page.
Seeing the available records within the book, Chen Mo’s eyes widened.
On every page, there were brief introductions to different types of technology. The full extent of the information dazzled Chen Mo.

…
While there were all kinds of technologies that were linked to a wide array of fields, there was still nothing above authority level [Trainee], Not even a hint.
Even so, it was more than enough to give someone a shock. All the listed technologies were more than enough to speed up the global pace of technological development and discovery.
Chen Mo struggled after seeing so many different technologies, and naturally didn’t know which one to choose.
Any of them could bring him a small fortune. It was like having so many dishes in front of him to the point that he didn’t know which one to eat.
“Mr. Shu, do you have any suggestions?” Chen Mo looked at Shu Lao as he asked.
“You are asking me to give you some advice?” Shu Lao thought for a moment and then posed a question: “Many of the technologies here can bring you vast amounts of wealth, right?”
“Yes, a lot of wealth.” Chen Mo nodded.
“Which do you think is more important: money or health?” Shu Lao continued to expand the question..
“Health.” Chen Mo did not hesitate to answer.
Everyone knew that no matter how much money you had, if you weren’t healthy you wouldn’t be able to enjoy it!
“Shu Lao, you’re not going to ask me to not pick one and instead go outside and workout…right?”
“Hahaha, you mentioned something interesting. ” Shu Lao smiled.”I asked you this because consider if you took technology from the Library and released it out into the world. For example, this lithium battery technology, have you studied it? If you bring it out all of a sudden, people will ask you where the technology came from. What would you be able to say? You stole it? ”
Hearing Shu Lao’s words caused Chen Mo to nod slightly.
“There are also dangerous people. If you haphazardly bring technology out, others will kill for it and steal it. On the other hand, if you are accused of stealing the technology, what will you do? You are an ordinary person. You have no power or background. Could you even keep it? ” Shu Lao said.
“No way.” Chen Mo shook his head. He didn’t doubt Shu Lao’s words. Sometimes life was bloodier than a TV series.
“So, keep a low profile and accumulate a lot of knowledge,” said Shu Lao.
“Then what? What should I choose then? ” asked Chen Mo.
“There are two ways. First, you can choose a technology that can make money, but hold off on selling it for a short while. Instead, learn the technique, settle down for a while, and really understand it. Second, you choose the technology that you can use now. ”
“Which one works?” Chen Mo turned over the books, looking depressed, it had too many technology options, and many of them were similar. He didn’t know which was the best.
“The one that is good for your health,” Shu Lao said mysteriously, “Look into technology related to biological science, ‘Low-level human potential development technology’.”
Following the guidance of Shu Lao, Chen Mo quickly went to the catalog of biological classification to find out what Shu Lao said about technology.
∆Low Level Human Potential Development Technology∆
Field: Biology
Authority Level: Trainee
Product Introduction: Develop basic human potential, improve vitality, immunity, strength, agility, endurance, and toughness.
“Surely I don’t have to explain how human potential development would be useful? Once you reach the most advanced version of this technology, which is most potent, individuals can develop the human body to its maximum potential, which would be the equivalent to having a superpower. The most influential people can destroy the planet, even more terrifying.” Shu Lao explained patiently.
“Hiss…” Chen Mo’s eyes widened as he processed the information. He had truly been shocked by Shu Lao’s words. “Isn’t that only a thing of fiction?”
“No, all of those wonders can be attained. Whether it be traveling through time and space, never growing old, being able to fly through the sky, the strength to move mountains, or to even live in the sea. These myths and legends from stories can be realized through the power of science.”
Shu Lao looked across the deepest parts of the library with profound expression as he imagined all the possibilities.
“The highest state of science is akin to divine miracles.”
“Are there any of those technologies in the Library of Science and Technology?” Chen Mo’s eyes feverishly swept over the bookshelves with a palpable passion. These things were a dream come true for many human beings; otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many myths and stories about such feats all throughout history.
Myths were the results of mankind’s desire for immortality and strength.
“Yes.” Shu Lao nodded. “If you want to learn it you must have the highest authority of the Science and Technology Library. But you don’t need to think about it at the moment. Just consider it as me wetting your appetite. Those things are more than 18000 miles away from you right now. Think about your current situation. ∆Low Level Human Potential Development Technology∆, which you can use right now.”
Chen Mo thought for a moment. As Shu Lao said, the potential development technology was indeed the most useful book he could use currently.
“Develop your physical potential and learn a bit about martial arts when you leave here. You will find yourself knocked unconscious by a bookshelf in a library. It’s not every day that you will be so lucky, heroes don’t always manage to save the beauty.”
“Okay, I will choose this.”
“Are you sure?” Shu Lao said.
“Sure, the body is the essence. Sooner or later, there will be a money-making technology, and I am not in a hurry,” Chen said
Shu Lao nodded with satisfaction and spread his hands wide open, a light fell from the library as a book appeared in his hand. The book shimmered a bit like a holographic projection.
With the book in hand, Supervisor Shu Lao moved his hand to gently pat Chen Mo’s head. When Chen Mo’s head was touched a tremendous amount of information entered his mind and became engraved in his memory.
“After this visit I won’t be able to get the next technology until next month?” Chen Mo asked while thinking about the information he gained regarding human potential development technology.
“Not necessarily. You can study science and engineering books outside. For every 100 books you learn, you get a new technology. After you read 1000 books on the subject you then can upgrade to the next level of authority.” Shu Lao said.
“1000 books?” Chen Mo almost burst out of the blood.
What is with this task of learning 1000 science and engineering books? Ordinary people can’t read 200 books in their entire lifetime. 1000 books? Wouldn’t his eyes fall out?
“Are the requirements for each upgrade even more difficult?”
“It’s not as hard as you would think. Your brain is different in comparison to ordinary people. It’s a super brain now. The science and technology library is not just for you. You need to keep on learning, to reach a higher authority level.” Shu Lao said with great emphasis.
“I see.” Chen Mo nodded slowly.
“Well, you’ve been in a coma for a while. It’s time to go out. An extended coma is not good for your health,” Shu Lao said, “the next time you return, open the book, and I will come out to see you.”
“How do I get out?” Chen Mo looked around and couldn’t see an exit.
“Close the book.” Shu Lao said as he pointed to the Dark Red Book.
Chen Mo reached out and closed the Dark Red Book. Supervisor Shu Lao’s body slowly began to disappear. And from the center of the library just in front of the desk, a three-meter high door with golden lights leaking from it emerged.
There was a black whirlpool in the middle of the light, while a blue light rotated a little bit on the edges. It was like a time and space transmission gate from many science fiction movies. Chen Mo approached the Golden light and paused to look back at the library before he stepped into the golden gate.
