Chapter : Some Facts About North
Firstly, North is elongated a little, so it is literally half the continent and Bravos is almost opposite of the city White Harbor of Manderly's.
Stormlands lie opposite side of Tyrosh, Myr and Disputed Lands with arm of Dorne being elongated a little more in a diagonal line. Other than that, the geography of Westeros is almost same.
Winterfell lies on a tall hill with two curtain walls, a moat and tall towers on the wall as opposed to canon. It is a very defensive fortress which can hold back an army more than 10 times the size of the garrison without counting the advantage of terrain, meaning higher ground, needing to climb hill to assault it etc.
The land under direct control of Starks are the second most fertile lands in the North after the lands of Gift, called Winterlands. Winter town as opposed to canon is situated half an hour ride away from Winterfell on the banks of Wolf Knife, the tributary of White Knife. The other tributary is called Cerwyn Knife flowing through Cerwyn lands.
Some parts of wolfswood and mountains where mountain clans reside fall under Stark control. Those mountains are very rich in resources. Not only that but all the mountains in North are filled with natural resources other than gold and silver which is found few and far between like the silver mine in Manderly lands and Stark lands. Mountains in the North are also filled with precious stones, gems, diamond etc.
Westeros also have different seasons, it's like every year has normal seasons along with great seasons where whole years pass in it. For ex: In summer there are summer months, autumn months, winter months and spring months where temperatures change slightly. But in great seasons temperature changes much more drastically like a decrease of 10 degrees in winter months of great winter as compared to great summer in a few months.
