CHAPTER 8: FINAL PREPARATIONS
Two weeks had passed since the unexpected visit from Zane and Alexa, and the apocalypse was now imminent, expected to break out within the next 48 hours. Derick called a meeting in his study to discuss their next move.
"Good morning, Dad, Mom," Elise and Madison chimed in unison.
"Good morning, babies," Derick and Anita replied together, smiling.
"Elise, Madison, take your seats," Derick instructed, his expression turning serious.
"The apocalypse is 48 hours away from now, and we are still making further preparations on how to get to the safe base early," Derick explained. "And if you have any suggestions, you are free to give us."
Elise spoke up, her eyes shining with determination. "Dad, we can pass through City S to City Z by bypassing City A, which is a shortcut to City G, where the safe base is located. And we can also get supplies and practice our abilities while driving to the safe zone."
Madison nodded in agreement. "Dad, we can also contact Grandma and Grandpa to stay with my aunties and uncles together with our cousins in one of the mansions we bought. Since little sis said that as far as you are the owner of the building, the president of the safe base won't allocate people into your property without your permission."
Derick's face lit up with pride at his daughters' suggestions. "That's wonderful, Madison and Elise. I will contact Grandpa."
Anita smiled, already making her way to contact her brothers. "And I will contact your uncles too."
The family's close-knit relationship and respect for one another were evident in their discussion. With their plan in place, they were ready to face the impending apocalypse together..
