Resurgence: eternal evolution

[Do you want to become stronger?]

The words appeared again, as though challenging him.

Kael clenched his fists, confusion and disbelief swirling in his mind. "What kind of question is that?" he muttered under his breath. He glanced around the room again, searching for cameras, speakers—anything that could explain this.

But there was nothing.

The voice from the void replayed in his mind. The darkness, the endless silence, and that same question. It wasn't a hallucination.

Kael shook his head, laughing bitterly. "If this is some kind of prank, fine. I have nothing to lose," he muttered. Then louder, his voice cracking, he shouted, "Hahaha! Yes! Yes, I want to become stronger!"

For a moment, nothing happened. Kael felt a pang of regret, his laughter dying out.

[Acknowledged.]

Before he could react, the black screen shimmered, shifting into something new. Kael's eyes widened as strange symbols and numbers began to materialize.

Available mana is being converted into speed,strength,stamina.

Kael blinked at the glowing letters in confusion. "What… is this?" he whispered, his eyes scanning the screen.

He couldn't believe what he was seeing. His stats… they were all at 10.

"Speed? Strength? Stamina? Is this some sort of joke?" he muttered, his voice shaking.

His gaze dropped to the bottom of the screen. HP and MP. His health was full, but his MP—his mana—was completely empty.

"Zero…" he murmured. "I'm no different from a normal human."

Kael leaned back on the bed, his heart pounding. The words on the screen glowed ominously, offering no answers, no explanations.

His mind raced as the realization settled in: whatever this was, it wasn't normal. This wasn't something anyone had ever experienced before.
