Chapter 339: End of Second Round
While Carmen was having doubts whether Xu Feng truly treated her as a real member or not, back on the stage, Victor was currently dropping beads of sweat.
If Xu Feng had just ended him on the spot, then he wouldn't have even felt fear.
However, Xu Feng purposely conjured such a deadly spell, only to delay his launching of it.
It was as if he was teasing him for his earlier exclamation in demanding Xu Feng.
As Victor made a side eye to check for his fellow contestants who were supposedly on the same side as him, he realized they had long abandoned him.
In fact, the other contestants had decided to forfeit the competition on the spot. After witnessing the change from Xu Feng, followed by Crimson Heart already in the final phase of the forging, they realized their effort was futile.
Their preparations and many dedications were ruined not just because of Xu Feng, but because of Yaren's arrangement of the ridiculous competition.
Since the chance of passing was no longer viable, they would rather forfeit in advance and save themselves a few broken bones.
"I want to forfeit as well." Victor gnashed his teeth and raised his hand, choosing to forfeit. The Nether Blast on Xu Feng's hand was still increasing in terms of power.
Just imagining himself receiving that kind of blast face-on made him nearly pee his pants.
"Forfeit?" Xu Feng finally spoke after closing the distance between them. "Those contestants managed to forfeit because they exited the stage."
"..."
His voice was rather soft, but with the stage's arrangement, nearly everyone was able to hear him clearly. In fact, some of the clever folks also began to understand Xu Feng's hidden meaning.
If the other contestants forfeited because they were able to exit the stage, then what about Victor who was still currently face-to-face with Xu Feng?
Could he exit the stage in time before getting bashed?
"Y-You don't have to do this, Lin Feng." Victor panicked and said, "We are here for forging from the start, and not a fighting competition. As long as you let me go, I promise that I won't seek revenge whatsoever. We can even sign a contract if you don't believe me."
"Let me ask you a question. Do I look like a fool?" Xu Feng smiled lightly and asked.
Victor unconsciously shook his head.
"Then did you think I would let you go easily?"
"I-I can pay you for compensation."
"How much?"
"10 gold coins?" Victor gritted his teeth and offered.
"Razor, Brutus, tell them how much I hired the two of you for?" Xu Feng shouted loudly.
Meanwhile, Victor was confused by these two names.
However, he soon came to an understanding when Razor stood up from the seat, "I was paid 15 gold coins by Lin Feng for a trivial task."
Not willing to lose out to Razor, Brutus patted his strong chest and exclaimed, "I was also paid that much for a small sparring session."
After their exclamation, Xu Feng asked Victor once again, "How much did you say you were going to compensate me for?"
At this moment, Victor felt as if he had swallowed a mouthful of maggots. His previous compensation offer looked no different than a drop in the ocean when compared to Xu Feng's wealth.
"P-Please not in the face, Lin Feng." Victor requested, knowing he had no way out. If it wasn't for his spendthrift behavior, then he would have enough gold coins to compensate.
Alas, it was a little too late for regret.
Nodding his head, Xu Feng unleashed his Nether Blast. "Rest assured, I will definitely hit it in your face cleanly."
"Noooo—"
As the scream of horror echoed throughout the stage, Victor's beautiful face was bashed thoroughly and flew off the stage, white foam appearing in the corner of his mouth.
Clearly, the blast was powerful enough to strike him unconscious, as well as multiple broken bones in his jaws and face.
After his ruthless strike, Xu Feng's Divine Wrath also disappeared due to the duration of the skill having reached the end. His aura returned to normal, and currently, within the stage, only Crimson Heart was still busy forging.
The unexpected twist of the competition had caused nearly most of the audience to be stunned.
What was originally supposed to be a bland and boring forging process between contestants, turned into an all-out brawl and sabotaging moment.
To make things more chaotic, all the potential blacksmith contestants the audience had in mind were actually eliminated, leaving only two unknown dark horses.
One was Crimson Heart, and the other one was Xu Feng.
Time went by and just before the two-hour timer ended, Crimson Heart successfully forged a Veil Breaker.
"The second round is officially over." From out of nowhere, Yaren appeared on the stage, and with a snap of her finger, the Frozen Field had vanished.
"I've already inspected the item forged by contestant numbers 69 and 88. Their items are satisfactory to pass." She continued, directly announcing their passing.
Normally, the items would be shown to the audience, with a clear explanation of their passing and why the item was great.
However, knowing Yaren's behavior and her actions so far, none of the audience complained about the procedure going off-mark yet again.
"Are they going to start the final round?" One of the audience inquired.
Initially, the competition was going to last two to four days due to the complicated process, but thanks to Yaren's arrangement, the blacksmith section only had two contestants left.
In other words, unless Yaren decided to pass a few of the eliminated ones, there would be no point in prolonging the competition any further.
Yaren turned to the person who asked the question and smiled.
"You've asked a good question. Although somewhat unexpected, those who could last till now under the Frozen Field meant they are capable." She responded and turned her attention to Xu Feng and Crimson Heart.
"For the final round, I plan on forging a new item, but I'm still missing some materials. These materials are located in the Abyssal Rift. Whoever gathered them for me, will win the competition."
