Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 285: Defeat

Xu Feng truly despised the Divine World after getting hit by the piercing spell, and his health plummeted to the remaining 60%.

Just one spell alone had dealt 40% of his health and he could tell it was done casually as well by the opponent.

This was no longer a fight, but a one-sided bully. Read new chapters at empire

And this time, the bully was not him, but from the despicable generated opponent from the system.

As Xu Feng stared at his opponent, he noticed that they were preparing for another spell.

Clenching his staff, Xu Feng knew time was running out and he resisted the chillness running through his flesh. Instead, he dashed ahead, hoping to close the distance between them.

Unfortunately, his movement speeds were just too slow. With a distance of 3 meters, his opponent already finished casting the spell and directed it straight at him.

Psst!

Like a slithering snake, the spell launched toward him in the blink of an eye, dealing another whopping 50% of his health.

Now, Xu Feng only had 10% of his health remaining, but before he could even make another step. The chilling AoE field unleashed its deceitful effect.

The chillness removed the remaining 10% of his health, resulting in his defeat.

From the very beginning to the end, Xu Feng had dealt 0 damage to his opponent, much less hindered it at all.

As he respawned outside of the Colosseum, a solemn expression appeared on his face. He was not disheartened by his overwhelming defeat, but was in fact, smiling very coldly.

Indeed, if the Divine World wasn't this perverted in terms of difficulty when it comes to bountiful rewards in return, no players would bother to improve themselves.

Thus, Xu Feng was actually exhilarated by the immense difficulty this time.

For the first time since his return, this was the hardest obstacle that he had to face.

With one opportunity wasted, and two remaining left. He didn't dare to rush it again like the previous time.

Instead, he began to ponder over a method to counter the chilling AoE field and the casting time by his opponent.

'When it unleashed its spell, it took approximately 3 seconds. This meant that at each interval, I got 3 seconds to make a move.' Xu Feng thought to himself.

If he first utilized his Abyssal Phantom to tank the first spell, he would technically gain himself 6 additional seconds.

However, the problem now was… how would he utilize those 6 seconds?

His only offensive spell was Sacred Fire, followed by an ineffective scroll.

Opening his inventory, Xu Feng glanced at the remaining two Tier 1 scrolls, namely: Scroll of Earthquake and Scroll of Poison Cloud.

"These two aren't offensive like the Scroll of Meteor Shower, but they also had their advantages." He murmured, rubbing his chin softly.

Shortly after, he shut his eyes and began to visualize the battle outcome in his mind, trying to see the most effective moves.

His concentration reached its peak as he seemed to have ascended to a whole new level. It was similar to a person playing chess against three people at once, but instead of that, Xu Feng was simulating over 10 different scenarios.

Each one was more complicated than the other.

Beads of sweat started dripping down from his forehead from the intense concentrated battle.

Finally, after an unknown amount of time, his eyes reopened, filled with clarity and determination.

Not speaking a word, Xu Feng merely stepped onto the Colosseum and used his second opportunity.

Soon, the countdown appeared once again, and once it reached zero, Xu Feng summoned the Abyssal Phantom.

Afterward, he swung his staff at the ice field unleashed by his opponent.

BANG!

As his staff collided with the ice field, Xu Feng analyzed the cracks it had created. A small fissure was formed on the ice upon being smacked hard by his staff.

With the small opening, Xu Feng proceeded to cast Sacred Fire on it, sending the fire straight down the pit. When he witnessed the small but illuminated fire still active, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

And during his actions, 5 seconds had already gone by, meaning the Abyssal Phantom had long been one shot killed and he got pierced by the following spell unleashed by his opponent.

What followed next was the chilling bite effect, causing his health to drop to zero as he lost the battle.

By the time he reappeared, he was already outside the Colosseum. The system prompt also indicated he now had one opportunity left to challenge.

"The taste of defeat is surely bittersweet." Although expecting to be defeated again, experiencing it and expecting it were two different feelings. Even though the loss was inevitable, the pain remained, and recalling it only brought back emotional damage.

Scratching his head slightly, Xu Feng grinned menacingly.

"Now that you defeat me twice, it's only right that I make you suffer in the final bout." He exclaimed, gazing at his opponent, who still had a nonchalant expression on his face.

It was as if the previous two battles could not even be considered a warm-up for him.

That nonchalant expression of his opponent.

Xu Feng would remind himself to look at it again during their final battle.

After all, he truly wondered if that stoic face of the opponent would remain or not once his plan was implemented.

As he calmly stepped onto the Colosseum for the third time, Xu Feng stretched his neck and clicked on "yes".

Soon, the countdown timer appeared, counting from 3 to 0.

Once the countdown timer reached 0, Xu Feng summoned the Abyssal Phantom.

Meanwhile, the opponent seemed to be bored to death, having seen the same trick over and over again.

It didn't even bother to pay attention to what Xu Feng was trying to do. Instead, he once again prepared his piercing spell to kill the Abyssal Phantom in one shot and damage Xu Feng heavily.

'Yes, let that ego continue to fester in you. I can't wait to see you cry later on.' Xu Feng inwardly sneered, clearly pleased that his opponent was rather lax.
