Reincarnated into a New World As a Vampire

Chapter 141: An Unrefutably Invitation

The night covered the camp in its quiet shroud as Orven stood by the ridge, his crimson eyes narrowed as he knelt, placing one hand on the ground. From his shadow, a grotesque form began to take shape, a birdlike figure with tattered wings and hollow eyes, its body seemingly woven from darkness itself.

"Deliver this," Orven murmured, his voice steady despite the eerie sight. "Let my master know everything I've experienced here."

The shadow bird gave a faint, hollow screech before dissolving into his own shadow and vanishing into the ether. Orven rose, brushing off his hands as he glanced back at the bustling camp.

'This Aldritch…' he thought, his expression contemplative. 'He is unlike anything I anticipated. In fact, I don't think even my master could anticipate this.'

Far from the camp, within the opulent halls of his castle in the Vampire Society, Lord Vaelios sat alone in his chamber. His fingers drummed rhythmically on the armrest of his throne-like chair, as though waiting for something which he was sure would come.

The shadow bird emerged from the floor, taking form briefly before disintegrating into nothingness. Its essence seeped into Vaelios's mind as a stream of mana and onformation flowed into his labela, delivering Orven's detailed report in vivid clarity.

Vaelios's expression shifted from curiosity to astonishment. "A Vampire Lord… not merely in title, but in presence as well." He rose from his seat, pacing slowly as his thoughts churned. "If this is true, he could be a force to rival even the eldest among us. This is… fascinating."

Without hesitation, he summoned a servant with a sharp snap of his fingers. "Send this message to the other elders..." he continued to explain.

After that, he immediately made his way to meet with the ruler of the vampire society, the queen. He had no time to wait for the others. Their discussion could follow up later.

Vaelios walked into the throne room with measured steps, carrying purpose. The queen reclined on her throne. Her gaze was sharp, piercing through the seeming darkness as Vaelios entered the chamber, bowing deeply before approaching further.

"Your Majesty," Vaelios began, his voice carrying both respect and urgency. "The envoy has sent his report. This Vampire, he is no ordinary vampire. His power rivals that of our greatest Lords, yet his origins remain a mystery. Adding to that, he has built a force of considerable strength, maybe, rivaling a fraction of our own army. The interesting thing however, is that he shouldn't be more than a hundred years old from my divination." He explained.

The queen tilted her head slightly, her eyes gleaming with interest. "A Vampire Lord who appears from obscurity, defies tradition, and gathers strength so quickly… intriguing."

After a brief silence, she spoke. "Bring him to me. I wish to meet this vampire personally. If he is what you say he is, he may become either an invaluable ally… or a formidable adversary."

Vaelios bowed deeply. "As you command, Your Majesty. I will dispatch another envoy to deliver your decree immediately."

The following evening, Aldritch's camp stirred as the sun dipped below the horizon. Orven stood the tent he had been given, his gaze fixed on the sky briefly, before it shifted forward as a faint ripple of magic heralded the arrival of someone, someone familiar.

A tall, robed vampire materialized from the shadows, his entrance silent but commanding. His deep crimson cloak shimmered faintly, and an air of authority surrounded him.

"They sent you, huh? That urgent I supose," Orven said as he greeted his brethren.

"Orven," the robed figure replied, his tone formal. "I bring a decree from the Queen herself. Take me to Lord Aldritch." He said, cutting to the chase.

Word spread quickly through the camp, and soon as Aldritch emerged from his tent, the robed envoy bowed deeply before speaking.

"Lord Aldritch," he began, his voice resonating with practiced authority, though innately respectful. "Her Majesty, Nahila Ven'dralis, ruler of the Vampire Society, extends her invitation. She wishes to meet with you and your people at the heart of our domain." He said.

Aldritch's crimson eyes narrowed slightly. "An invitation from the queen herself," he said, his tone thoughtful. "And how does she propose we make such a journey?"

The envoy gestured to himself, a faint smirk crossing his lips. "I am a master of spatial magic. I am capable of transporting your entire group across any distance. The journey will take but moments."

Aldritch studied the envoy carefully, his expression betraying no emotion. Finally, he spoke, his tone measured but firm. "Impressive. But I cannot help but wonder… what guarantee do I have that this is not a trap? I have no reason to trust anyone, not even the queen."

The envoy stiffened slightly, clearly taken aback by Aldritch's bluntness. Even Orven's expression betrayed a flicker of surprise.

"Lord Aldritch," the envoy replied carefully, "Her Majesty's invitation is not a request lightly made. Few in this world would dare to defy her."

"Few, perhaps," Aldritch said, his voice cold, "but I am not most. If she wishes to meet me, she will understand my caution. Tell her I will consider the offer, but I will not act in haste."

The envoy's shock was evident, though he quickly masked it. Orven, however, could not contain his thoughts. "You realize, Lord Aldritch, that even the great dragon families and covens that have existed for centuries act with caution to her will. Do you truly mean to risk her wrath?"

Aldritch turned his gaze to Orven, his crimson eyes burning with quiet intensity. "Isn't that frightening."

Adritch's seeming lack of caution left him even more shook.

As the second envoy prepared to leave, Orven watched him intently. "He defies the queen's decree, yet there is no ignorance in his words," Orven said quietly. "Only… certainty. I've never seen nor heard anything like this."

The envoy nodded grimly. "Ignorance or arrogance, time will tell. Either way, the Queen must be informed."

With a flick of his hand, the envoy summoned a portal, stepping through it and vanishing into it, not using the same means he used to come to them.

"Why do I still have to stay here?"
