Eugene didn't want to fight with Kaizer.

Fortunately, the emperor and the princes already arrived as they pay respect and take their sit, listening to the emperor's speech of honoring the soldiers and keeping their loyalty to the empire. Eugene glances at the second prince who is so manly and exudes strong male hormones and turns to the crown prince who looks so delicate like a pampered princess.

He couldn't help but fell into a deep thought.

Is Lincoln so beautiful? He can't remember much about the face of his love rival in the past but seeing Lincoln made him doubt how such a beautiful man fight him for a woman. With that face, Lincoln deserved attention from a man but fell in love with a woman instead.

He also doesn't know what happen with Lincoln when the second prince Maximillian ascend but he does hear a rumor that Lincoln was imprisoned to be tortured.

Eugene claps his hands with the others.

The first person who was called was the grand duke who lead the army. Second is Duke Del viltaria who is in charge of security and protection and third is Marquis Shradinza who becomes the source of information.

The three walk in the middle one by one and bow toward the emperor.

Their contribution was announced and the apportionment of territory was also officially declared making the nobles and officials gasp in surprise. How to say? Is there an emperor throughout history who will give power to nobles that can threaten their position as royalties? They're afraid the current emperor is the first one.

Duke Del Viltaria and Marquis Shradinza had all ugly faces.

This made the crown prince's face turn pale as he realize that he was really in danger as he watch his brother kneel in front of the emperor, being put on a badge that represents merits.

Crown Prince Lincoln's eyelashes trembled as he met the second prince Maxmilian's sharp gaze.

After the second prince, Kaizer was called.

The hall fell into silence as they watch the son of the grand duke walk in the middle.

Eugene lowered his gaze and grinned.

As expected, Kaizer's authority is useful for his plan.

Kaizer receives the reward and goes back to his seat. Rasiel stood next then Casimin until it was Eugene's turn everyone also turn their attention in front. Who didn't know that the unfavor son of the Marquis awaken as a dualist? This made them scoff and look at the Marquis mockingly.

Now that the unfavor son was valued by the emperor, Shradinza Household who is rumored to mistreated Eugene Shradinza will be punished.

The emperor smile warmly at Eugene and said, "What a beautiful child, you don't look much like the Marquis, certainly you didn't even get the Marchioness's beauty. It is as if you are carved perfectly by someone."

Eugene's expression turns dull as he faces the emperor.

Of course, he is specially carved by his father the duke who made him through the means of magic. Judging by the eyes of the emperor who is looking at him, he guesses that the emperor had an idea of his origins. Really, what a mess, even a powerful emperor couldn't do anything to stop the evilness of his subordinates.

"Your majesty is joking."

The emperor just laugh and patted his back, "I'm thinking what do you think of grand duke Kasrten?"

"His excellency is an admirable man."

Eugene talks to the emperor with a low voice and goes back to his seat after receiving his badge.

The volunteer soldiers' reward is delivered to their houses while the reward of the soldiers under the authority of the four pillar family was given to the head to be distributed to their army.

After the long event, the emperor starts a short gathering.

Eugene talks with Casimin and Rasiel about the academy while Kaizer left his seat and walks toward the emperor. Grand Duke Kasrten who saw his son walking toward them motioned the emperor to see his son.

Kaizer: "Please excuse my rudeness, your majesty."

Kaizer stood beside his father and smile at the emperor.

"As expected of the grand duke, even your son can compare to you."

Grand Duke Karsten smiled: "Of course, my son is my successor, if he is not strong like me, I'm afraid some beast will just devour him. It's necessary for our blood to produce an excellent generation to continue our noble family's legacy."

The emperor just laugh.

"Does the little grand duke have some business with me?"

Kaizer smiled and said, "Well, I wanted to have a request and I hope his majesty will grant it for me."

The emperor kept the same expression but deep inside he's been expecting the grand duke's son: "Well, I'm planning to give a separate reward for you and now that you mention your request, you can state it so I can make an early preparation."

Kaizer look at his father who patted his shoulder.

"Well, your majesty I want to have a marriage."

The emperor show a surprised expression and glances at the grand duke who just shrugged.

"Well, can I know who is the object of your interest?"

Kaizer glanced at Eugene through his peripheral vision and grinned: "It's Eugene Shradinza. I wanted to marry Eugene Shradinza and make him my duchess."

The emperor's smile turns stiff.

"You took a fancy to the son of Marquis Shradinza?"

"Yes, I fell in love with him and I can't get him out of my mind. My father didn't object and even wanted to hand over his title for me to make my beloved the duchess. I hope just like my father, his majesty can approve of my request and support me to make the Marquis agree with the marriage of the two families."

The emperor frown.

He plan to make the grand duke adopt Eugene but he didn't expect the grand duke's son to request a marriage. Though it's in his favor, he can't help but feel dissatisfied with how women noble women are losing their chance to get married in a noble house.

Just why do most of the noblemen end up liking the same sex?

It's going bad since the noble women are being leftover as they can't marry commoners.

Grand Duke Kasrten saw the emperor's hesitation.

"Your majesty, is my son's request absurd? If so how about I discuss things with Catharis? I bet they are ready to help my son proceed with the marriage talk."

The emperor's face turned pale, "N-No, I'll write letters after the gathering and send it to the Shradinza Household."

Kaizer breathes, this time, he can finally marry Eugene.

"Well, I thank his majesty for his benevolence."

——After the ceremony, Eugene left the palace with his father.

Eugene fell into a deep thought wondering what has gotten to Kaizer and what kind of conversation he made with the emperor. Until he arrived at the Shradinza Household, he couldn't help but feel restless and feel like something is going to happen.

"Young master, welcome back."

Eugene enters the room: "How is it? Did Timber arrive at the Rozans Household safely?"

"Yes, I escort him as you order."

"Who receive him? Is it the count or the young master?"

Raphael shook his head, "It's the head butler."

Eugene sat on the chair of his study and tap his fingers on the table while resting his cheeks on his palm: "Did Timber rely any message for me?

"Well, he just says that he believes you and will wait for you."

Eugene raises his eyebrow: "Did you two have a talk?"

Raphael nodded: "Well, it's a nice talk."

Eugene hummed: "It's good. After all a time will come that you will serve him."

Raphael breathe. He knew it, Timber is probably his young master's lover. If so then he might really serve Timber in the future. It's good, after all when he had a talk with Timber, he realize that Timber and he are the same. They are aware of the abnormalities of this world. Talking with someone with the same view is just gratifying.

"It will be my honor."

Eugene dismissed Raphel and take a shower.

He then take a rest and woke up for dinner. It's a routine that he will visit his little sister and go together in the dining room. The whole atmosphere hasn't changed since the Marchioness is still absent. Eugene suddenly realizes why his days are quiet than he expected.

"Father, is Mother still sick?"

Euric's hand shook and even the Marquis frowned in dissatisfaction.

"Your mother refuses treatment, I don't know what's happening to her."

Eugene click his tongue, "Did she want to die?"

Marquis Shradinza slam his hand on the table and shouted: "Watch your mouth! She's your mother!"

Eugene chuckled, "Mother huh?"

Just what would happen when his father learns that he [Aison] is his figure mother? The one who gives birth to him. Can he [Aison] still say that the marchioness is his mother?

Funny.

Eullian grab his father's hand and said softly, "Father, calm down. I'm sure brother didn't mean it."

Euric snorts, "That woman deserves it? Someone who will sacrifice her son for her own gain. She is not qualified to be a mother."

Marquis Shradinza gulped and couldn't cover up his wife's mistake.

"Euric, she's still your mother, at least show some respect."

Euric gritted his teeth and said in a heavy voice, "A mother is someone who is selfless. How do you expect me to respect such a person who wouldn't bat an eye to hurt and sacrifice her own children according to her wishes?"

"Euric!"

"Father! Do you think I know nothing? That woman is abusing my siblings! How do you expect me to respect her when she couldn't even control her rapacity?! Is Eullian and me her only children? How about Eunice and Eugene?! Do you think I will remain innocent of what's happening in this household?! That woman, your wife is a vile person who doesn't deserve to be called a mother!"

Marquis Shradinza held his head when he heard the word abuse.

"E-Euric, what do you mean?"

"You don't know?! Are the estate affairs and your job the only priority that you didn't even know what's going on with your wife and children?!"

Eugene put down his fork and spoon.

Eunice and Eullian shrink in their seat while trembling from the sudden dispute.

He can't help but intervene.

"I think it's not suitable to discuss such a thing in front of a meal."

Marquis Shradinza and Euric stiffen.

Eugene grabs the napkin and wipes his mouth: "There's no need for me to persecute my mother but if my little sister also experiences violence, then that's not something I would easily accept. So Father, let's do have an in-depth talk about how the marchioness abused my little sister. I want to know what's happening under my nose."

Marquis Shradinza's face turns pale.

Eugene stood up from his seat: "I lost my appetite, please do help yourselves."

Eunice panicked and immediately leave her seat, following her brother.

She knew what they are arguing about.

Eunice is not an innocent child anymore, she is aware of how her brother Eullian and Euric is favored by their mother but it's just she didn't expect her brother Eugene to be the same as her so her dependence on her brother Eugene deepens.

"My little princess, can you tell brother how mother treats you?"

Eunice reluctantly nodded while pursing her lips.
