Rebuilding Uchiha By Removing Fugaku

Chapter 72: Chapter 72

Hearing the screams coming from the mist,

Koharu and Mitokado Homura finally snapped back to reality.

Both instantly released their elite jōnin-level chakra, blowing away the water vapor.

However, in that brief moment, nearly half of the dozen or so jōnin had already been wiped out.

Koharu and Homura stared at Toku in shock, their faces betraying panic as they shouted:

"How do you have this kind of power?"

Ninja strength in the shinobi world is not as clearly categorized as it is for anime viewers.

To those like Koharu and Sarutobi Hiruzen, a "Kage-level" ninja is just that—whether it's someone like the Third Hokage or the legendary Hashirama Senju. For them, the difference between the two isn't particularly relevant since they wouldn't stand a chance against either.

When it comes to jōnin, however, they rely on numbers. One jōnin may fall, but two or four will eventually succeed. This is why Danzo sent two squads to eliminate the Uchiha clan during the coup—believing strength in numbers would prevail.

In the minds of Konoha's elders, Toki, despite his feats, was "just a jōnin." Even if he had singlehandedly defeated nearly a thousand chūnin, they believed numbers would overwhelm him.

But now, reality shattered that illusion.

In mere moments, Toki had eliminated nearly half of their elite jōnin without breaking a sweat.

This wasn't just a difference in strength—this was a completely different realm.

To make matters worse, Sarutobi Shinnosuke, their strongest trump card, had been rendered useless in seconds.

A cold dread began to creep into Koharu and Homura's hearts.

Yet Toki gave them no time to recover.

In an instant, he appeared in front of another jōnin.

"So fast!"

Clang!

The jōnin managed to block with a kunai, but just as relief began to form on his face, a massive crimson skeletal arm materialized, smashing him into a bloody pulp.

Everyone's eyes widened in horror as Toki stood there, half-formed Susano'o surrounding him like a wrathful demon.

Even Koharu and Homura, seasoned shinobi, gasped at the sight.

"This... this is—!"

The civilian onlookers stared at the skeletal figure in confusion, mumbling amongst themselves:

"What kind of jutsu is that? I've never seen anything like it."

But the members of Toki's Bow Team gazed upon the spectacle with reverence and awe.

"This is the divine power of the Uchiha clan!"

Koharu, trembling with fear, suddenly shrieked like a madwoman:

"Look! This is the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan! It was this power that controlled the Nine-Tails and killed the Fourth Hokage on that fateful night!"

Hearing this, the remaining eight jōnin, all of whom had lost loved ones during the Nine-Tails' rampage, erupted with fury.

"It was you! You're the one behind that night!"

Their rage reached a boiling point as they unleashed a flurry of powerful jutsu:

"Water Release: Water Dragon Jutsu!"

"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"

"Earth Release: Earth Dragon Jutsu!"

"Wind Release: Vacuum Wave!"

Countless elemental techniques collided, converging into a massive explosion, drowning Shiyu in destruction.

Koharu and Homura exchanged a hopeful glance, their hearts trembling with anticipation.

"Did we succeed?"

But as the smoke cleared, their hopes crumbled.

There stood Toki, completely unharmed, with a thoughtful look on his face.

In truth, Toki had always been cautious, often overestimating his enemies.

As a reincarnated individual without inherent talent, he believed in meticulous planning and braced for the worst-case scenario.

He had thought Susano'o's defense to be weaker than portrayed, referencing Danzo's Wind Release, which could cut through Sasuke's Susano'o.

But now, it was clear he had overestimated this group of jōnin.

Compared to the elites seen in the Shippuden era, these Konoha jōnin were a far cry in strength—little more than cannon fodder.

Most seemed no stronger than Tokubetsu Jōnin like Genma Shiranui or Anko Mitarashi.

It was clear to Toki now that these jōnin were chosen not for their strength but for their loyalty—mere background figures, doomed to fall to powerful opponents.

Toki chuckled, a smile playing across his lips as he turned to Koharu and Homura.

"Any more tricks up your sleeve?"

Both elders paled, sweat dripping down their foreheads.

Unlike Danzo or Hiruzen, who had their clans' support, Koharu and Homura had been civilian shinobi elevated by Tobirama. Their strength had long been eroded by age.

Koharu's face twisted into a pleading smile:

"Patriarch Toki, this attack... it wasn't our decision! You know how Sarutobi is—he gave the kill order!"

Homura nodded frantically in agreement:

"Yes, yes! It's all Sarutobi's fault! We were just following his orders! Please spare us!"

Toki tilted his head slightly, his expression unreadable.

Then, his voice rang coldly:

"Wood Release: Hell Chaos!"

With a sickening splurt, sharp branches erupted, piercing through Koharu and Homura.

The two elders turned back in disbelief, only to witness a sight that made their eyes widen in shock:

---

Land of Hot Springs

The terrifying figure of the Two-Tails Matatabi loomed, its massive form now doubled in size.

Troy, a Yūnin from the Hidden Cloud, cried out:

"Something's wrong! Matatabi is out of control! Scatter!"

A deafening roar echoed across the battlefield as a tailed beast bomb began forming in Matatabi's mouth.

Uchiha Yatsushiro and Uchiha Inabo, positioned on a mountain ridge, looked on in horror.

"Don't let that thing hit!"

The two members of the Hidden Cloud's elite team, X and Y, charged desperately toward the beast, but they were too far away. The tailed beast bomb was fully formed.

BOOOOM!

The monstrous attack obliterated everything in its path, pulverizing rocks and trees alike.

X and Y stared at the destruction in disbelief, their faces pale.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Yatsushiro and Uchiha Inabo shouted commands:

"Charizard X, use Slash to deflect it!"

"Charizard Y, assist with Fire Spin to push it away!"

The two dragons roared in unison. Charizard X dove in, translucent blue energy forming around its claws as it slammed into the tailed beast bomb.

Charizard Y followed up, spewing a massive vortex of flames that helped redirect the attack skyward.

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted in the distance, forming a towering mushroom cloud.

Despite their efforts, Matatabi roared furiously, lunging at Charizard X.

"Dragon Claw!" Yatsushiro shouted.

But as X tried to counter, its energy claw shattered under Matatabi's overwhelming strength, sending it flying.

Uchiha Inabo's expression changed drastically.

"Charizard Y!"

Y let out a deafening roar, and ferocious flames engulfed the tailed beast, Matatabi.

Uchiha Inabo watched the massive fireball nervously and muttered, "Did it work?"

But a chilling roar answered him.

"Roar!!"

Matatabi unleashed its full tailed beast chakra, the flames surrounding it scattering like dust in a windstorm.

Uchiha Yatsushiro and Uchiha Inabo stared wide-eyed at the unstoppable force that Matatabi had become. Their faces turned pale as they gritted their teeth.

"Damn it... too strong," Yatsushiro muttered. "If Patriarch Toki was here..."

At the foot of the mountain, Troy watched the scene unfold with excitement and shouted, "Well done, Yugito! Wipe them out!"

But his cheer was cut short as an enormous fireball shot straight toward him.

Matatabi had gone fully berserk, now acting purely as a tailed beast without Yugito's control.

"Water Formation Wall!"

Dozens of Kumogakure's water-style ninjas hastily formed a barrier to block the incoming fireball.

Troy's adjutant swallowed nervously and asked, "Sir, what now? Should we retreat?"

Troy glared at the adjutant and barked, "Retreat? Idiot! We've already released the tailed beast! If we don't secure a victory, we'll all be dead anyway! Let the others fall back for now. Once Konoha's forces are dealt with, we'll strike!"

The adjutant quickly nodded, "Understood, sir. I'll order the retreat."

With that, the Kumogakure's ninjas began pulling back. Meanwhile, Matatabi began to form another tailed beast bomb, even more terrifying than before. It hurled the attack toward the Konoha ninjas.

Yatsushiro and Inabo watched in despair.

"Is this it? Are we done for?"

"Patriarch Toki... we've failed you," Inabo lamented.

Just then, a weak but commanding voice rang out from the sky:

"Get out of the way!!"

From above, a fire-breathing dragon descended, carrying two figures. One of them stood at the forefront, gripping a massive, round shield.

The pale Uchiha Setsuna stepped forward and roared:

"Konoha City Wall!"

With a deafening crash, an enormous defensive structure rose, blocking the path of the tailed beast bomb.

---

Valley of the End

Koharu Utatane and Mitokado Homura turned in shock, their bodies riddled with countless wooden spikes.

Toki stood over them, a cold, merciless aura radiating from his body.

Mitokado Homura coughed up blood, struggling to speak, his trembling finger pointing behind Toki.

"Hiruzen... Sarutobi..."

Before he could finish, the wooden spikes withdrew from his body.

The two Konoha elders, once powerful and influential, collapsed lifelessly to the ground.

Toki coldly completed Homura's sentence.

"Sarutobi Shinnosuke... it seems you're the only one left from those involved in Danzo's experiments with Hashirama's cells."

A figure rose shakily from the ground, Sarutobi Shinnosuke, who had been teetering on the edge of mental collapse.

He sneered disdainfully at the corpses of Koharu and Homura.

"My father always said those two were worthless—useful only for taking orders. To think they would surrender so easily."

Bow One and the others quickly gathered around Toki. Bow One hesitated and asked nervously:

"Lord Toki, is that... really Mokuton?"

The Uchiha clan held an almost instinctual fear of Mokuton, passed down from those who had fought Hashirama Senju, the God of Shinobi.

But Toki wasn't afraid. Instead, he was filled with pure rage. His voice was a low growl, laced with fury:

"Shinnosuke Sarutobi... you deserve nothing less than death!!"

---

Shinnosuke sneered, his hands forming seals.

"Hmph. So, this is Susanoo? Let's see how long you can sustain it! According to the Second Hokage's research, this technique drains chakra rapidly, doesn't it?"

He unleashed a barrage of attacks.

"Earth Style: Moving Earth Core!"

The ground beneath Toki rose, forming a trap. Spiked stone walls closed in from all directions, leaving only the sky as an escape route.

"Earth Style: Stone Spears!"

Sharp stone pillars erupted from the ground, aiming directly for Susanoo's vulnerable points.

The Uchiha squad looked on in horror.

"Lord Toki!" Bow shouted.

But Toki's roar echoed through the battlefield, shaking the earth itself.

"Get out of my sight!!"

A crimson Susanoo burst through the stone trap, shattering it to pieces.

Shinnosuke's eyes widened in disbelief.

"What... what kind of power is this?! How is it getting stronger?"

A massive chakra blade formed in Susanoo's hands, slicing through the earthen defenses with ease.

Toki's cold, mocking voice boomed from within Susanoo.

"Tell me, Shinnosuke... that Mokuton of yours—whose chakra is it from?"

Shinnosuke smirked.

"Isn't it obvious? It's the First Hokage's, of course! Perfect for dealing with scum like the Uchiha!"

But Toki's rage erupted, his voice shaking the heavens:

"Shut your mouth! That's the chakra of the Senju Nawaki!!"

"Yasaka no Magatama!!"

Toki unleashed a barrage of spiraling chakra projectiles, obliterating the ground beneath Shinnosuke. The sheer force of the attack sent shockwaves rippling across the battlefield.

Shinnosuke barely managed to erect a wall of earth to shield himself, but even he couldn't hide the fear spreading across his face.
