Chapter192-You Got Here Too Fast. I Could’ve Held Out a Bit Longer.
"This actually worked?!"
Hearing Justin's words, Velen was completely stunned.
Was this the legendary "hang around taverns too much and you're bound to get screwed"?
Justin's mentor was at least a decent powerhouse, yet he still got targeted and kidnapped by a succubus. One could only imagine how twisted that succubus had to be.
"No time to lose—let's move!"
"But we need to bring Iron Cub along. That succubus is at least supreme rank!"
With that, Velen took Justin and rushed toward the back of the fortress.
Moments later—
"Master's here!"
"Master actually came!"
"Could Master really hear my call from the heart?"
"Are Master and I really this in sync?"
Seeing Velen rushing over, the rabbit was so touched he was nearly in tears.
"Lunatic, I'm borrowing a spellbeast for a quick errand."
"Iron Cub, come with me!"
Velen gave a quick nod to the one-eyed red-haired man before calling out to the Ironback Centipede.
"Master, you're only taking me?"
???
Hearing that, Velen was confused. "Who else would I take?"
"Master, then I can't go with you."
"Brother Rabbit is still trapped—I can't leave him behind alone!"
For the first time ever, the Ironback Centipede defied Velen's command, his eyes filled with determination.
"Brother Centipede, your heart means the world to me!"
"Go! Do what Master needs you to do. If one of us can get out, that's already good enough. Don't worry about me—I'll hold the line!"
The rabbit, clearly moved, shouted back.
What the hell?
When did these two spellbeasts become such tight brothers?
What is this—some alternate world soap opera about parting brothers and tragic sacrifice?
…
Velen activated a Spatial Portal, and together with Justin and Ironback Centipede, he instantly arrived at the town where Justin and his mentor had first encountered trouble.
"System, use one charge of Fate's Trojan to locate Nepal's current position!"
Soon, a navigational map appeared before Velen—visible only to him.
"Iron Cub, keep piloting the Tier-9 flying device. I'll guide the way!"
With two humans and one spellbeast aboard the device, they pushed it to full speed and rushed toward Nepal's location.
Justin looked worried.
Mentor, you have to hang in there!
Inside a certain palace—
"You dared summon help while I was meditating? You think I won't kill you?"
"Or did you mistake our fleeting pleasure for something deeper?"
A voluptuous woman in a black skintight mage robe glared coldly at the pale-faced Nepal.
"Kill me if you want—dead's dead either way."
"Haven't you killed enough already?"
Nepal pointed at the countless bones scattered around them, completely unafraid.
"Hahaha!"
Lilith laughed out loud. "Dying at my hands is an honor. Better to go out with a bang than a whimper, right?"
"Can't argue with that," Nepal admitted sincerely. "Better to go out with a bang!"
"You… you…"
Nepal's agreement completely threw Lilith off. She had killed tens of thousands of 'furnaces,' but never met a cheeky rogue like Nepal.
In fact, she started to feel like if she really did kill Nepal, she might actually be the one getting shortchanged.
"You bastard!"
"You're trying to corrupt my pure heart!"
Suddenly realizing the danger, Lilith cursed at Nepal. If she hadn't snapped out of it in time, he might've become her inner demon!
???
What the hell did I do?
Who corrupted your "pure" heart?
You're a freaking succubus! You have a pure heart??
You're about to kill me, I agree with you, and you still yell at me?!
Nepal was utterly dumbfounded.
"Hurry up! You comin' or not?!"
Snapping out of it, Nepal got pissed and shouted at Lilith.
You serious right now?
You're about to be drained dry and you still have the energy to talk back?
Seeing Nepal's cocky attitude, Lilith was livid. She had killed tens of thousands of people, but never met someone this shameless!
"Almost fell for it again!"
"You? Shake my Dao Heart? Ridiculous!"
She yanked off one of her socks and stuffed it into Nepal's mouth. If he kept talking, she might actually start thinking she was the one getting scammed—and that would seriously mess with her cultivation!
But she couldn't bring herself to kill him just yet—this guy was a sculptor who had withstood eight thunder tides, and the magical energy he offered was just too precious to waste.
"Succubus! Let go of my mentor!"
Justin's voice echoed from outside the cave. Nepal's eyes lit up!
A powerful energy surged outside.
"Supreme-rank spellbeast?"
Lilith's expression turned serious as she moved toward the entrance.
Huh?
Hearing this, Nepal was completely stunned!
He didn't expect his good-for-nothing disciple to actually bring a supreme-rank spellbeast!
"Jackpot!"
"I knew that Velen guy wasn't ordinary. Letting Justin go with him was the smartest decision of my life!"
Nepal felt smug satisfaction.
"Who are you people?"
Lilith emerged from the cave, eyeing the two men and the spellbeast with suspicion.
Velen gave her a quick once-over and was stunned—gotta say, for a succubus, she was smokin' hot.
"Hmph, doesn't matter who you are. Since you came to me on your own, I'll just suck you all dry along wi—"
"Eye of Doom!"
Before she could finish, Velen activated Eye of Doom.
Ironback Centipede had just readied his twin furnaces to charge into battle, but froze mid-step as Lilith disappeared before his eyes.
Turning in confusion to Velen: "Master, if you were gonna do that, why'd you bring me?"
"You think I was gonna pilot the flying device myself?" Velen muttered.
Like I'd tell you I forgot the Eye of Doom had refreshed today.
Moments later, the two men and one spellbeast walked deeper into the palace. When they saw the mountain of bones, they all sucked in a sharp breath.
"This succubus was seriously hardcore…"
Velen was utterly shaken.
"Don't throw that!"
Justin was about to toss the sock he'd pulled from Nepal's mouth when Nepal stopped him.
"Undo the binding curse first. I'm keeping this sock as a souvenir!"
Nepal snatched it, balled it up, and stuffed it into his pocket.
Hearing that, Justin almost lost it.
This mentor is beyond saving.
"Dude kinda deserved to get caught," Velen muttered behind them, floored by Nepal's shamelessness.
"This guy's even more flamboyant than I imagined…"
"Where's the succubus?"
After the curse was lifted, Nepal quickly asked.
"Dead."
"Not even a body left."
Justin answered truthfully.
"Dead?"
"What a pity!"
"I didn't think you guys would get here so fast. I honestly could've held out a bit longer!"
Nepal muttered, a bit disappointed.
