Yaeger could practically feel the players' shock and excitement radiating through the forums.
"Did I just become the new world boss?" She sighed in exasperation as she scrolled past a flood of trending posts, all focused on hunting her down.1 Then again, on second thought, it all made sense.
After all, the bounty on her head rivaled the rewards for landing first blood on a world boss. The only difference was that the latter came with a one-time use of the coveted [Saint Demon Roulette].
"The thing is… I’m way harder to take down than any world boss." Yaeger smirked and tapped on one of the trending posts.
Hunt Down the Black-hearted Princess — Twice the Thrill, Double the Loot!Posted by: [Carefree Bro] | Good evening, my fellow adventurers! This is your dashing and endlessly charismatic host—Carefree Bro! |
Let’s skip the fluff and get straight to business.
As we all know, the universally hated and reviled demoness, the Black-hearted Princess, is now a fugitive of the Jade Empire.
Relieving!
Thrilling!
Utterly satisfying!
That’s right—I feel amazing! Utterly euphoric!
As the saying goes: you reap what you sow!
Justice may take its time, but it never fails to arrive! And now… that time has finally come!
The Black-hearted Princess is as good as dead!
Soon, the skies above Jade City will be clear of her blight, and the glory of the Empire shall be restored to its rightful owners—us!
But back to the main point, my friends—what a blessing it is that the Empire has officially placed a bounty on the Black-hearted Princess!
Now, why am I calling it a blessing?
Well, that’s because… This quest is practically tailor-made to encourage us to hunt her down!

Just take a look at this madness!
She’s required to stay online for no less than fourteen hours a day. In other words, the Black-hearted Princess can’t simply hide offline and wait it out.
What’s more, if she’s killed, she must log back in within an hour—or start losing her gear! Now that… is just glorious!
And we all know how ridiculously stacked her gear is, don’t we? She’s loaded with Epic-grade gear that dominates the Equipment Rankings—and let’s not forget that absurdly overpowered Artifact she has.
Anything you manage to loot from her could bring you generational wealth!
And if—just if—you manage to grind her down until she loses all her levels and drag her back to Jade City for the quest hand-in? That’d be legendary!
Double the loot, double the joy!
Of course, the chances of pulling that off are pretty slim. After all, every major guild on the Linhnan server is gunning for her—it’s nearly impossible for solo players to get a piece of the action.
But hey, as long as we’re breathing, we’ve got dreams, right?
Even if the odds are paper-thin, there’s always a chance to turn a dream into reality!
So I strongly recommend all freelance players here to join a large guild—preferably one with real firepower and reach.
Like, for example, the greatest guild in the Linhnan server—one of the top dogs in Cathay:
[Death of Love]!
Yaeger squinted at the post, her expression twitching slightly at the overwhelming number of exclamation marks. It came across like an advertisement—and a rather terrible one, at that.
As she skimmed the comment section, it was clear she wasn’t the only one who thought so.
[***]: This ad is way too obvious, right?
[***]: How much did [Death of Love] pay you? Double Dragons will match and double it!
[***]: Do you feel good making money in such a shameless way?
[***]: Yeah, as one of the top forum posters, this is just sad.
Totally sold out. Disappointing!
[White Cloud]: He just made a suggestion—did he force anyone? What’s wrong with selling out for cash? I’d do it too!
[Burn My Mana]: Not gonna lie, [Death of Love] offers great perks. Tempting for sure.
But I’m not about to make an enemy of the Black-hearted Princess.
[Chicken Too Musty]: Lemme guess—you’re from Novice Village 101? I heard everyone there’s terrified of the Black-hearted Princess!
[Burn My Mana]: Exactly! Haha, it’s clear less than five people here have working brains. Can we really afford to mess with her?
[George Tank]: I won’t provoke her either, but saying we can’t is a stretch. Everyone knows she’s crazy strong—an Artifact, tons of Epic gear, and strength on par with a world boss.
But no matter how powerful she is, she’s still just one person. People die when they’re killed! If the major guilds team up, she’s toast. As the saying goes—teamwork makes the dream work. United we stand, stronger than iron, harder than steel~!
[***]: Damn, this dude really broke into a song!
[***]: That ad was cringe, but [Death of Love]'s perks sound solid. Might give it a shot—no more grinding for mats if I make it in!
[***]: For real! Never seen a guild this generous before.
[***]: Core members get ten grand a month and full benefits? I’m seriously tempted!
[***]: Feels like I’m applying to an S&P 500 company—I’d brag about that on my resume!
[***]: Exactly! Couldn’t agree more!
[***]: Rumor is, if someone actually takes down the Black-hearted Princess, the guild master’s handing out a massive bonus!
[***]: Honestly? Even I’m tempted now.
Yaeger closed the forum window, expressionless.
"Taurus and S.K.Y… Relentless, as always."
[Death of Love] Guild had kicked off an aggressive recruitment drive, and even a fool could see their real target—her. But why should Yaeger concern herself with these ants? A swarm was still a swarm—no matter how big, they were nothing but ants. She’d just wash them away like dirt on her boots.Right now, only someone like Richard posed a real threat to her in the Jade Empire. The players didn’t worry her in the slightest. Let them come—she’d cut them all down.
The elegant Beast Carriage sped forward, the scenery blurring around her. Yaeger gazed ahead, calm and unbothered. To her, this bounty quest was nothing more than background noise.
Meanwhile, deep in the sewers…
"I finally made it out…" Rosalina’s already pale face turned even whiter. "Master is incredible… That tunnel was packed with traps, and she only triggered one! And even that was because her spatial magic shifted the distances… As expected of Master. You're amazing. I love you so much!"
Just as she finished, a deep rumble echoed behind her. The secret passage sealed shut rapidly, leaving only fresh scratch marks etched into the stone wall.
"It’s time to head back." Glancing at the now-closed wall, Rosalina turned and strode away on long, graceful legs.
With Yaeger no longer around to purify the air, the sewer’s foul stench became unbearable.
‘It’s so smelly! I’m going to pass out… Wait—Master held me for a long time. Her scent must still be on my robes!' Without hesitation, Rosalina peeled off her white robes and buried her face into the spot Yaeger had touched.
Sure enough, a faint, clean scent lingered there.
‘Ah… Master’s scent~'
Blushing furiously, she took a deep breath. Her thoughts melted away as her body trembled in bliss. For a moment, she completely forgot she was still in the sewer.
Back in the real world, inside a sleek hotel suite… Vera One’s fingers flew across the keyboard, data flashing rapidly across her screen.

- Silva: What's there to be exasperated about? You should have expected this when you have been so highhanded from the start to end.
