Rebirth: Leading Families to Survive in the Apocalypse

Chapter 101 - One Hundred and One: Who Are They?

Chapter 101: Chapter One Hundred and One: Who Are They?

“What should we do now?”

Under the basketball hoop, a young boy in a white T-shirt asked tearfully, his parents had both been bitten to death by zombies while protecting him, and he didn’t know what to do or where to go.

“The only thing you need to do now is to stand up and fight! Kill those monsters outside!” Su Jin continued.

“Kill zombies? But we don’t know how, they are so powerful,” came a middle-aged woman’s voice from the crowd.

“They are not powerful. They are foolish, just a group of mindless monsters craving flesh! All you need to do is to pick up a weapon and chop off their heads!”

After saying this, Su Jin turned to look at her family members behind her, slowing her tone as she continued, “These are my family, my teammates. Since the Apocalypse began, we have been fighting together. No matter their gender or age, they’ve all killed dozens, even hundreds of zombies, including this little girl, only eight or nine years old, who has already killed four or five zombies. Aren’t you ashamed?”

The people she addressed showed neither pride nor embarrassment; they just stood there with Su Jin, quietly watching the crowd below.

The crowd below quieted for a few seconds, then began to stir. Even that little girl could kill zombies?

“Think of those ugly monsters outside, think of your deceased family members. Are you willing to be helpless?”

“Don’t you feel resentment?”

“Don’t you want revenge?”

“Are you willing to just watch as you and your loved ones are devoured bite by bite?”

!!!

How could they not feel resentment, how could they not desire revenge? If they could, they too would fight the zombies like the people above!

“I’ll follow your lead, I want to kill all those beasts!” a middle-aged woman stood up excitedly. Both her son and husband had been devoured by zombies, leaving her alone, sustained only by despair and hatred.

“I also want to fight them to the death!”

“To the end, since we’re all going to die, I’m taking them down with me!”

“Me too!”

The hatred born of despair was stronger than any other power.

The originally quiet gymnasium erupted into noise, even Xing Taining and the soldiers behind him felt their blood boiling, the fire in their hearts seemed to reignite!

Su Jin handed the megaphone to Lu Hao; she had said all she wanted to say, confident that Lu Hao had words of his own to add.

“Quiet!” Lu Hao had not expected Su Jin’s speech to be so effective.

“Now I will teach you how to kill a zombie. You need to ensure you aren’t caught or bitten, and aim to destroy the brain inside their heads, as attacks on any other part are ineffective! They lack vision, possessing only smell and hearing, which you can use to your advantage to protect yourselves as much as possible. Start now by gathering anything in the gymnasium and nearby that can be used as a weapon. Those who are old, sick, or disabled without weapons, group together; we’ll try our best to protect you. Also, anyone with awakened Special Abilities, come to this side!”

As soon as Lu Hao finished speaking, the crowd below erupted, groups of people started searching the gymnasium for anything that could be used as weapons; basketball hoops, metal frames, and rows of benches from the stands and railings were dismantled to make metal rods, along with baseball bats from the storage room, and even badminton rackets…

Xing Taining also led some people to a nearby construction site to gather weapons, followed by Guo Yang and Liao Yifan, who also helped to store the collected weapons in the Space and bring them back.

Meanwhile, Su Jin stood at the assembly point for Special Ability Users that Lu Hao had mentioned, registering everyone’s abilities.
