Chapter 41: Chapter 39: Jin Lee vs Eunsung Han
Jin lowered his leg, standing tall and composed as silence enveloped the rooftop. He glanced down at Seok's unconscious form before turning toward his team.
"It's over." he said simply, his tone devoid of any trace of triumph or relief.
Dowan leaned on a railing, relaxed, while Se-hoon straightened up from his stance after barely winning against Ji Baek. Yu stood off to the side, his expression as bored as ever. The tension seemed to drain from the air, but just as they began to relax, Jin's voice cut through the quiet once more.
"You can come out now." Jin said calmly, his eyes fixed on the staircase leading up to the rooftop.
The group turned toward the entrance, confused at first, but soon the sound of measured footsteps echoed through the stairwell. A man emerged, his composed demeanor exuding authority.
Eunsung Han stepped onto the rooftop, his gray eyes scanning the scene. He stood tall, his well-built frame a testament to years of combat experience. His tailored black shirt fit snugly against his muscular arms, the faint tension in his posture indicating he was ready to act at a moment's notice.
Dowan's eyes narrowed as recognition dawned on him. "That's… Han Eunsung, Sillim-dong's representative."
The air grew heavier, as if the sheer presence of the man added weight to the atmosphere.
Eunsung stopped a few feet away, his hands resting casually in his pockets. His gaze fell on Jin, calm but assessing. Jin returned the stare, his expression unchanging. Slowly, Jin began walking forward, his hands tucked in his own coat pockets. Eunsung mirrored the action, his strides confident and unhurried.
When the two stopped, they were only inches apart. Eunsung was slightly taller, his eyes bearing down on Jin's with an unspoken challenge. The rooftop seemed to shrink around them as their sheer presence consumed the space.
Eunsung broke the silence first. "You've beaten up many of my men. What do you have to say about it?"
Jin tilted his head slightly, his calm voice meeting his. "Guilty."
Eunsung closed his eyes briefly, letting out a soft hum. When his eyes opened again, there was a glint of something sharp, intent. Without warning, he moved.
In a fluid motion, Eunsung swept his leg, hooking Jin's ankle and flipping him off balance. His follow-up was immediate, a rapid uppercut aimed squarely at Jin's airborne form. The movement was so fast that a shockwave erupted from his fist, displacing the air around them.
But Jin wasn't a mere spectator. Twisting his body mid-air, he brought his fist downwards to meet Eunsung's strike head-on. Their fists collided with a thunderous impact, sending a massive shockwave rippling across the rooftop. Dust and debris scattered, and the others shielded their eyes from the force of the collision.
The two men distanced themselves, both landing gracefully. Eunsung flexed his fingers, his expression unchanging, while Jin adjusted his posture.
Eunsung calmly folded his sleeves up to his elbows, exposing his forearms, while Jin shrugged off his coat. Without a word, he handed it to Yu, who caught it lazily.
Yu looked at the opponent in front of them and muttered, "Not bad."
Jin cracked his knuckles, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Let's see how long you can keep up."
Eunsung didn't respond. Instead, he lunged forward, his movements precise and deliberate. His arms shot out in an attempt to grapple Jin, aiming for a takedown. Jin sidestepped and countered with a quick palm strike to Eunsung's ribs. But Eunsung absorbed the hit, twisting his body and locking Jin's arm in a vice-like grip.
With a sharp pivot, Eunsung threw Jin over his shoulder in a textbook suplex. Jin twisted mid-air, landing on his feet, but Eunsung was relentless. He swept Jin's legs again, forcing him to drop to the ground. Before Jin could recover, Eunsung mounted him, his fists raining down.
Jin crossed his arms in a defensive guard, deflecting most of the blows. His sharp eyes caught a brief opening, and he struck out with his elbow, catching Eunsung on the side of the head. Eunsung staggered slightly, giving Jin just enough room to escape the mount.
Rising to his feet, Jin retaliated with a flurry of strikes, his fists a blur as he activated Multi-Strike Destruction. Each punch carried precision and force, targeting Eunsung's ribs, solar plexus, and jaw. Eunsung blocked and weaved through most of the strikes, his footwork impeccable, but a few punches broke through, forcing him back.
Eunsung grunted, rubbing his side briefly before stepping back into the fray. He faked a high jab, drawing Jin's guard upward, and immediately transitioned into a low leg kick. The strike connected, momentarily destabilizing Jin. Eunsung capitalized, closing the gap and grabbing Jin by the waist.
In one fluid motion, Eunsung executed a belly-to-belly slam, driving Jin into the concrete with enough force to crack it. The shock made Dowan and Se-hoon flinch, but Jin wasn't done.
As Eunsung went for a follow-up, Jin activated Blind Spot Strike, shifting his body at an angle that left Eunsung momentarily exposed. His palm shot forward, striking Eunsung's temple with pinpoint accuracy. Eunsung staggered, his footing faltering for the first time.
Jin rose to his feet, his breathing slightly heavier but his expression still calm. "You're good." he admitted, his voice steady. "But you'll need more than that strength to beat me."
Eunsung smirked faintly, wiping a trickle of blood from his lip. "I was about to say the same to you."
The fight escalated. Eunsung's grappling skills came into play as he continuously attempted takedowns and submissions. He locked Jin in a guillotine choke, squeezing with immense force, but Jin used his raw strength to pry Eunsung's arms apart before delivering a devastating knee strike to his ribs.
Eunsung retaliated by spinning low, sweeping Jin's legs and transitioning into a ground-and-pound position. Jin rolled to the side, avoiding the worst of the strikes, and countered with a scissor kick that caught Eunsung's arm, forcing him to release the mount.
Both fighters stood once more, bloodied and breathing heavily. Jin's shirt was torn, exposing his toned frame, while Eunsung's once-neat appearance was marred by dirt and blood. Despite the state they were in, neither showed any sign of backing down.
Jin wiped a streak of blood from his cheek, a sadistic smile spreading across his face. His tone shifted, his voice carrying a sharp edge. "I think I'll loosen up a bit. Let's have some fun."
Eunsung's expression hardened, his calm demeanor giving way to a more serious intent. He adjusted his stance, preparing for the next round.
The rooftop seemed to hold its breath as the two fighters prepared to clash once more. The tension in the air was palpable, and the faint sound of distant city noise faded into the background.
