Chapter 290: [3rd of the 7!]
Silence covered the entire area as Neptune held Laplace's body by his horn. Each and every person present on the battlefield couldn't believe what they had just witnessed. They couldn't fathom what was going on in front of them.
The Higher Gods looked at Neptune with a shocked expression. They knew what Laplace was capable of, they had seen what he could do and the kind of power he held. And knowing all this, it made it even more difficult for them to understand what was going on in the battlefield.
Especially Castellina, Hecate and Helios, who had worked in the Neptune's Clinic. They had all seen Neptune in their day to day life in the clinic. A normal doctor who had some expertise regarding healing methods without using any mana. A skill that was rare among the mortals of this age.
And given how he had no mana within his body before and the way he never used his skill, it made them believe that the reason Neptune uses such rare methods of manaless healings by manual bandages and such, was because he had none.
But now, looking at him desplaying such prowess, they realised how wrong they were. How naive they were.
"Impossible…" The silence was broken by the blue haired boy, Zero. His eyes were especially shocked since he still couldn't find even a single trace of mana within Neptune. But clearly, Neptune was powerful. If not then how else was he doing these feats right now?
But even then… he still couldn't bring himself to agree that the enemy that he deemed as invincible just a few moments ago was now beaten so badly by a guy with barely any mana in him.
-Whoosh!
Laplace teleported again, this time a few dozen meters away from Neptune, before he looked at him with a serious gaze. The previous non chalant look was no more, as he now analzed Neptune even more.
Though the more he did, the more flabbergasted he got. Naptune still didn't show any mana signature at all, deeming him manaless. And given his physique, he should be barely stronger than your average mortals. Yet here was… standing tall, unfathomable.
Laplace's scars slowly healed as he narrowed his eyes, trying to analyze this guy in blue even more. But then again…
"Do you not know how to speak?" Neptune appeared right behind him, making him widen his eyes as he was ready to teleport again.
-BOOOOM!!!
Yet, he was pushed with a strong kick, unable to activate the teleportation.
"SIR LAPLACE!!!"
"YOU BASTARD!"
"SIRE!!"
"YOUR HIGHNESS!!"
Laplace's generals all shouted before they moved towards Neptune, each of them ready to kill him without wasting any moments. And Neptune observed them with a single glance before he mumbled,
"Kneel."
And then they all stopped in their tracks before they all fell on the ground, unable to move a muscle. Their eyes widen at their acts as Neptune began walking towards Laplace ignroing the generals, while they had their head down, unable to do anything at all.
Laplace stood up again, his scars healing rapidly, while his eyes failed to understand what was going on.
"I haven't injured your tongue. Your vocal chords aren't hurt either. So, why can't you talk?" Naptune reached closer to Laplace with a flash as he looked at him. His eyes, a bit angry, a bit bored, they deepened at that demon.

"Who… are you?" Laplace asked.
It was a question that everyone had in their mind right now. Iris and Harik knew that he was powerful, but to think it would be to this extent… that's something that they hadn't thought even in their wildest dreams.
"[SPIRIT CALL!]"
Spiritus, the Titan, called about a thousand sprits surrounding the entire city, as he focused his eyes on Neptune. Even the Titans had deemed Neptune as dangerous, and along with Adam, he was someone that needed to be killed.
If not, no matter how much they prepared, if this monster grew stronger, there was no hope of conquering Zarraf for them. That is why, they had to give their all to defeat him. Right here and right now.
But Neptune didn't spare even a single glance at those spirits forming in the air as he simply spoke in a commanding voice,
"Begone!"
And all the spirits vanished before they could even form. It was a spell similar to what Quitnellia, the Goddess of Space used. It didn't kill the spirits but stopped their descent into the mortal realm, cutting off their connection from the root.
But it was easier said that done as she was the only one who had succeeded in doing that. Or at least that's what everyone believed till now…
"I am Neptune. 3rd of the 7 Brothers of Salvation," Neptune spoke out as he looked at Laplace with a prideful expression. He then observed Laplace as asked again,
"So, young demon. Have you decided to answer my question? Or should I decide on my own?"
Neptune's sword glowed blue as Laplace looked at it, before he focused on Neptune again. Waiting for an answer, he gave Laplace a few seconds to decide, but since Laplace was still silent, observing Neptune, Neptune ended up sighing before saying,
"Then I will be the judge of that."
And then raising his blue glowing sword in the air, he focused an insane amount of mana in it.
All those who noticed that sword, could feel the chilling energy that it contained. The sword seemed as if it could cut apart the heavens and hells with a single slash. And now, it was aimed at Laplace.
The mana created waves in the area, making everyone take a step away from Neptune, while Laplace was ready to escape from there as well, but something bound him. He took a glance at Luciana blocking his teleportation again, which made him gulp before he focused on that sword that Neptune was holding.
Given Neptune's speed it was impossible to run away, so the only thing which he could use right now,
"[Command: Cancel!]"
He focused on that sword attack and… nothing happened.
"Gulp"
