Chapter 9: Chapter 9
At the start of the battle signal, Jin and Kyouka moved swiftly.
The two were so fast that Himari's eyes couldn't follow their movements.
In a matter of moments, the two had left marks all around the training ground.
Himari, who was supposed to determine the winner, was left confused.
The current situation was beyond anything she could have imagined, even in her wildest dreams.
As for Jin and Kyouka, they were both at the peak of their excitement.
Although Jin had an idea of Kyouka's approximate strength, he had to admit that her power surprised him.
Her physical strength and sword movements were among the best Jin had ever seen.
"Aren't you going to use your Peach Power, Kyouka?" Jin asked while parrying her sword, but she gave no reply.
Instead of responding, Kyouka used her sword to create distance between them.
At that moment, she grabbed Shuuki's beast from the outside and enslaved it using her power.
Jin was astonished by Kyouka's ability, and Kyouka felt a slight pride when she saw that look in Jin's eyes.
However, Jin quickly regained his composure, his eyes burning with enthusiasm as he looked at Kyouka.
It was time to finally use his new power.
Jin's eyes began to shine, and geometric patterns appeared in his pupils.
Kyouka, who was standing on Shuuki's beast, was slightly surprised to see the strange patterns in his eyes.
Her surprise deepened when he grabbed Shuuki's beast and rode it, using it as a combat tool just like she did.
"Kyouka, let's see who's the better master."
Using his Peach Power, he fully analyzed Kyouka's ability.
He could even confidently say he became better at using it than she was.
As soon as he gained the ability to control one beast, he immediately brought a second under his command.
"An army of Shuuki." The second beast followed, and soon, Jin had three Shuuki beasts under his control.
He stopped at three for the time being, wanting to explore the maximum strength he could grant them.
Jin's Peach Power also allowed him to amplify the abilities of those under his command, enabling him to distribute tremendous power to each Shuuki beast.
Under normal circumstances, he would be too exhausted to even lift a finger. But thanks to his [Limitless Energy], he wouldn't tire even if he controlled over a hundred Shuuki.
By sharing a portion of his power and establishing a stronger connection with the Shuuki beasts, the three under his command became immensely powerful.
Their skin turned black, their muscles swelled, and they grew so strong that the ground cracked beneath them as they moved.
"How... is this even possible?!" Kyouka shouted as she saw the enhanced version of her own ability, noticing that Jin didn't just replicate her power—he made it a hundred times better.
And yet, he showed no signs of fatigue.
Kyouka dared to say that the three Shuuki beasts, which were initially mere training monsters, had become fiercer than any Shuuki she had encountered before.
Moreover, they weren't in a frenzy but calmly awaited Jin's commands.
"Let's try something else now."
If Jin remembered correctly, Yuuki, the original world hero, derived his power from Kyouka's ability to alter the essence of the creatures he enslaved.
Thus, their forms changed depending on the person they were linked to.
So, Jin wondered—if he became the link connecting everyone's powers, would they share traits and abilities? Could he transfer them freely among them?
He channeled a fraction of his sacred power into one Shuuki beast, gave another comprehensive martial arts knowledge, and infused the last with as much raw strength as possible.
The Shuuki infused with sacred power exploded and died instantly. The one with martial arts mastery became an expert in an instant, eliminating a swarm of Shuuki in one swift move.
The last Shuuki, which received the raw power, delivered a blow capable of obliterating an entire mountain.
However, it didn't last long before it too exploded and died.
Observing the final Shuuki, which only received martial arts techniques and still had immense strength, Jin understood his current limits.
The connection with Shuuki was limited, and his power exceeded what a normal Shuuki beast could handle. Most importantly, sacred power was still lethal to Shuuki beasts.
However, if the ability were compatible with the species he controlled, the possibilities would be endless.
Kyouka was at a loss. From her perspective, the battle ended the moment Jin distributed her power among multiple Shuuki. She stepped down and stood beside him, curiously observing the remaining beast.
The last Shuuki stared at Jin quietly, awaiting orders. But Jin stepped back and instructed everyone, "everybody, keep a safe distance."
Kyouka wanted to protest, but seeing the speed of the two figures moving like blurs in an instant, she fell silent.
This battle was in an entirely different league , an out-of-control Shuuki at its peak strength and Jin experimenting with it to understand its limits.
What had once been a mere training Shuuki had become a black, dangerous beast, formidable enough to challenge team leaders. What would happen when Jin controlled an even stronger Shuuki?
He could crush the world.
Every inch of the training ground bore marks from the explosive power released by Jin and the beast.
Fifteen minutes later, the fight ended with the Shuuki exploding.
All the members of the seventh squad stared wide-eyed at Jin, who dusted his hands off as if he'd been on a leisurely stroll.
"What do you think of your ability's limits, Kyouka?" Kyouka snapped out of her daydream when she heard him call her name.
"My ability's limits? Wait, how do you even have my ability?"
"Copying, merging, and breaking that's my Peach Power."
"But Peach Power is exclusive to women. How do you even have it?" Kyouka was utterly confused. She was certain the Peach Power was granted only to women, so how did Jin possess it? And why was his power so broken?
"The organization I work for gave it to me," Jin lied without hesitation. He certainly wasn't going to explain anything about the system—it was a secret he intended to take to his grave.
Kyouka nodded and stopped questioning him. She wasn't foolish; she knew it could be a lie or the truth, but what difference did it make?
She was confident he wouldn't harm them as long as they respected his boundaries.
Thinking about it, she recalled a domineering figure at the top who wanted everything for himself.
If she set her sights on Jin... not even Kyouka could predict the chaos that might ensue within the Mato.
Shaking her head, she dismissed such distant, hypothetical problems.
"Jin." Kyouka approached him, asking the most important question now.
"What is it?" Jin, lost in thoughts about his abilities' limits, turned to her.
"You said these are the limits of my ability. Now that you have it, can you train me?" Seeing her eager eyes, Jin didn't mind at all.
For two reasons: first, the ability wasn't truly his, and he didn't mind helping Kyouka improve her own power.
And second, he originally wanted to find a reason to train everyone, not just Kyouka.
Training everyone would allow him to acquire their abilities and, in return, make their powers far better than they were now.
It was a win-win situation, so he didn't object.
He also wanted to experiment with connecting to non-Shuuki species. What would happen if he linked with Kyouka, Shushu, or even Himari?
He was sure their powers would shine brighter, and they'd grow stronger. His own power was still unfamiliar, giving him ample room for exploration.
He still had at least a month before returning, and since one day in the real world equaled a month in the Mato, there was no need to rush.

After finishing up, Jin planned to start Kyouka's training. However, she insisted on letting him rest even if he wasn't tired. So, he simply soaked in the hot springs to relax a bit before sleeping.
He hadn't realized how high the living standards in the Mato were—hot springs, excellent sleeping quarters, and vast training grounds. He had to admit the organization put significant effort into maintaining the units' comfort.
To avoid any awkward situations, he informed everyone he'd be using the hot springs to ensure no one ran into him.
As he submerged his body completely, he felt the soothing warmth of the hot springs flow through him.
Maybe he was more exhausted than he realized?
As he quietly soaked, he sensed someone approaching the door. Thinking it was Kyouka, he was surprised to discover it was someone else.
Glancing at the head with deep blue hair fumbling near the door, Jin realized it was...
Himari Azuma.
Jin was puzzled. Despite his interactions with them, his contact with Himari had been minimal compared to Kyouka.
If anyone were to visit him, he would have expected it to be Kyouka, not her deputy, Himari.
On Himari's side, she had been conflicted before coming here.
His ability bore some resemblance to hers—copying and utilizing power—which made her eager to train with him.
Their abilities were similar, and she felt comfortable being near him, not to mention the disappearance of any disdain she once held.
Fighting the Chief while relaxing and expending no effort highlighted the sheer strength in his body.
So, when the topic of training each member with Jin came up, her excitement soared.
Unknowingly, her thoughts led her to meet him and have a brief conversation before tomorrow's training began.
But as soon as she regretted the foolish idea and wanted to turn back, the door opened to reveal an incredibly well-sculpted body.
Eight-pack abs and muscles in every inch of his body without being overly bulky.
His physique was meticulously crafted by the best designers in this world.
Jin, intending to greet her, saw for the first time in his life steam rising from someone's head and a face flushed to the extreme.
Jin was oblivious to his own charm, especially to someone who hadn't had much interaction with the opposite gender since childhood.
"I-I'm sorry!!!" Himari ran off quickly and slammed into the wall behind her.
"..." Jin.
"..." Himari, bleeding from her nose on the ground.
