Chapter 461: Joking
But she could understand everything he meant, and, wanting to joke a little, she spoke again.
"I didn't think I'd ever get a marriage proposal as unique as that one." She said jokingly but didn't hesitate to take his hand.
Matthew smiled slyly after feeling the touch of her hands and then pulled her quickly towards him, scaring her. But he hugged her gently then and smiled closely at her. "Marriage proposal? So, you don't know me yet, but you're already thinking of marrying me. I see, I see." He said, as he teased and then moved one of his hands to touch her lips gently.
"I wouldn't be against it if it were you. A woman this good, you don't get twice."
Emma was stunned after this. She never thought Matthew would know how to make that kind of joke, so she soon started laughing. "Hahahaha, maybe it's true. Still, I didn't know you liked to joke around like that, Matthew. You seem to have become more sociable since you've been back." She replied as she held onto him so she wouldn't fall.
Somehow, the two of them were unknowingly embracing.
Still, Matthew didn't do or say anything else. They both stopped joking, and Matthew hugged her around the waist. "Let's go inside. Since you decided to come help me and intend to stay with me, you'll be leading the team. I hear you're quite the military strategist," he said, and he started to fly over the city.
Emma frowned as she felt his aura and looked at him from the side. "You've become much more powerful than before. It seems I wasn't wrong when I chose you, " she said, and Matthew smiled.
"Slowly, you're going to realize that choosing me was your best choice." He said and gave her a sidelong glance. "Of course, if you want to give me children as good as you, then the choice you made will have been better." He said, getting a laugh out of Emma once again.
"Hahaha, well, we can talk about that later. If I do that, Alice and that little girl will surely point their swords at me."
"Hahaha, maybe. Right, I hear Charles Relish is after you. Won't he be mad at your choice?" he asked, and she shrugged.
"Well, surely. Why? Are you afraid of him?"
Matthew smiled. "Charles Relish, uh. I'm interested about his skill, so I'd like to fight him." He replied.
"Oh? Fight him, uh... He's a weird guy. His hat is his weapon, so if you ever face him, be careful of that. That hat is a perfect Saint Weapon. Regarding his ability...
I honestly have no idea. He doesn't get titles like the rest. Some call him 'The Playful One'. But I once saw him kill people with his weapon, as if they were scattered mosquitoes" She replied, leaving Matt amazed.
"His hat is a saint weapon? Wow, looks like he's good then."
Still, they couldn't talk any further, as they soon came to one of the Allens' buildings. Emma looked below her and frowned.
"You expect me to lead a platoon of such powerful people?" She asked, and Matthew nodded.
"They're not that powerful; it's the Fifth Regiment of the Allens. I wish it was the Third, but that one is in the City of the Bloody Dawn." He replied, and she sucked in sharp air.
"Tsk, even though I've grown stronger and more confident leading more powerful people, these are Allen, you know? It doesn't matter if they're the First Regiment or the Fifth; they have Dietrich Blood in their veins. My military skills may not work on them, and they may not respect me." She sighed, but Matthew gave her a few pats on the head.
"It's okay; even if your blood doesn't work, mine will. They will be afraid of you, so be confident and show your skills on the battlefield. You must know that I am entrusting a part of a very important plan."
Emma stared at him and smiled, "If you trust me with something like that, then I can't do anything but complete it. Don't worry; I'll do it to the best of my ability. But I will need a good city map for my military strategies." She replied, and Matthew nodded.
Shortly after, they both went downstairs and entered the building.
Inside were waiting Gray Allen and his companions, with Jack Allen and Isla Moore.
"Matthew looks like you brought some good military help this time." Gray joked.
Emma leaned a little toward him. "Greetings, Lord Gray. It's been a while since the last time."
Gray nodded at her. "I've already been told what happened. While I am surprised that my successor has such good charisma to attract so many beautiful women to his side, I can say that your vision is astounding. Much better than I thought."
Emma smiled with some embarrassment but nodded.
After this, they all began to speak regarding the Plan.
The first to speak was Matthew.
"The Plan is actually about to culminate. I have prepared several things that will unleash war between the Clans. Everyone is wounded at the moment, and those wounds seem to be healing; this makes one believe that the waters have calmed down, but in reality, everyone is preparing. The last thing I'm missing is..." Matthew looked at Emma.
"I need you to disperse the people of the Fifth Regiment around the city and direct them to create chaos at the various battle points that will form. Still, stay away from the Clan Mansions. I have prepared some things to create more discord, and they are there."
Emma frowned. "You want me to use military tactics to create chaos? You mean hit and run away?" She asked, and Matt nodded.
"More precisely, kill and get away. You will all wear various uniforms I have procured, which represent, in a way, certain branches of those clans, and I have also prepared escape routes, so you will be safe." He replied and then began to explain the total plan to her.
After a good while of boring explanations, they heard an explosion outside. Matthew looked out the window and immediately knew what it was about. "They've already destroyed most of the land that belonged to us here," he said, and Gray Allen stood up, smiling.
"That's a sign that we're already in the final stage. I have managed to infiltrate the Leaders' Mansion successfully. Thanks to that, I learned that they are going to be sending powerful individuals to help them. I wonder who will be coming, although I've already surrounded the entire city, and I don't think they'll get in, but it's curious." Gray smiled.
Matthew looked at him. "Do you think you win in a match against the Three Leaders? That those so-called Advisors didn't come out leaves me with a bad taste."
Gray nodded. "The Advisors could be the most dangerous, according to my research. As for those Leaders... Heh, well, let the war begin, and you can understand why they call me the Most Powerful Man in the World."
Matthew smiled. "I hope you can live up to expectations." He said and looked back through the window.
The smoke from the explosion that had occurred a moment ago rose to the clouds quickly.
"It's about to start already."
...
