Powers Against The World

Chapter 89: Jamal Vs. Youden And His Army - Part One

Youden stood there in shock and flexing his arm, as he watched his ball of energy instantly evaporate into a cloud of light, causing dust to block their view from the wind. Letting it clear, he saw Jamal standing in front of him, already in some type of stance. This kid was looking for a fight.

"I killed Boom, I doubt you'll be harder." he confidently said, until he quickly gasped in pain.

He could feel his abs burning as Jamal was already in his face with his fist right in his stomach. Instantly, he went through multiple tarrs and divisions of troops before crashing into a hill beside the road.

"Who's next," Jamal asked around, to which everyone aimed their weapons at them.

Already leaping out the way, he watched as they missed their shots or not even firing at all, before some began to get the idea to aim at the town again.

"This guy is barely eighteen and yet he just saved us!" Swern said in surprise, the others still cowering below from the attack earlier, while a few began firing their attacks on the approaching army.

Jamal made a temporary wall of fire to slow them down and to prevent them from shooting at the town, as he rushed above to find Youden. Looking around, he could see a small crater with nobody inside. Eying around the place, he couldn't find him, until Jamal turned around to get blasted right through the walls of the city in seconds.

Stumbling back up, he felt the ground shake as multiple spikes were being raised from the ground and through houses. Jamal moved through a small courtyard, as he began climbing up to the roof of a tiled house. Getting a grip, he concentrated as much energy as possible between his hands.

A fireball quickly fitted snugly between his hands, as Jamal began roof-hopping from one home to another, dodging multiple attacks from Youden who destroyed homes behind him. He quickly hopped back onto the gates, where Tren and the others watched in surprise as he fired the attack straight at the army. The ball quickly expanded to the height of a two-story house as the ground continued to shake from the attack.

Youden formed a similar attack and fired a ball of bright light towards his blast. The ball began pushing through the blast as it slowly crept onward. Satisfied, he floated himself down in front of the broken gates and was greeted by multiple guards. Continue walking and without any eye contact, the guards didn't even advance him any further, as multiple shards of saltwater were impaled through their weak armor as they quickly collapsed.

Now inside the town, Youden looked around as Jamal was gritting his teeth to hold the attack off.

"People you care about, huh?" Youden jumped up to look Jamal in the eye, who was slowly beginning to have smoke come off his back.

"Shut up," he said, as the ball of energy was approaching the walled gate.

Smirking, he got right in his face, as he jabbed his stomach, causing his blast to falter and allowing the ball of light to come closer.

"Say it again." he urged him.

Jamal remained silent, as he was slowly running out of energy. He was using all he had to focus on the attack ahead. Youden just grinned at the struggling boy, as he punched him again, causing Jamal to hiss again and bring the ball of light to the gate's edge. Welp, I guess this town won't serve its original purpose, Youden laughed off, as he was about to punch him again until he felt a searing pain in his back.

Feeling blood drip from his back, he turned around to see Zim, Tren, Swern, and several other guards facing him. Grimacing, Youden looked at his army who was now slowly advancing ahead to the gates, only a few minutes away around the final edge of the one-way road. Looking back at the guards, he put his hands up.

"I give up." he simply announced.

The guards looked at each other but quickly got back into the trained stance. He was trying to bait them.

"Good, you all aren't as dumb as you look. Now you should probably leave and just accept your fate of being occupied, or die here and now. Your choice."

But the guards weren't persuaded by the lackful offer and moved towards him.

"Any closer and I'll blast him away," he said, creating another ball, with the other larger ball illuminating around them, with Jamal's smoke getting real bad.

At the moment, Youden didn't even notice what happened, but instantly he felt a burst of pain everywhere as he crashed through the ball of energy and into his own army, again. The guards looked around in shock, to see a young teen standing where Youden was, and with Jamal slowly moving his hands back and ending the blast, before getting out the form.

"Can you still fight?" the young teen asked.

Jamal recognizing the voice, snickered lightly but was sucking in deep breaths, "I still got a bit left in me, Hops."
