Chapter 57: Chapter:57

Satoshi carried Misty to the Pokémon Center. Thanks to the advanced technology in this world, she was quickly treated and discharged within an hour.

Despite her fainting earlier, Misty's injuries turned out to be superficial. The real reason she collapsed was due to sheer exhaustion and energy depletion.

"You mean to say that Gyarados is your Pokémon? It was stolen a week ago, and after spending all this time searching, you found it only to discover it had gone berserk?"

Misty nodded, her expression tired but relieved. "Yes, I've been looking for it tirelessly. When I finally found it, I thought I could bring it back easily. But it attacked me, and I didn't stand a chance."

Satoshi listened attentively as she continued. "It was my fault for not being cautious enough. I didn't expect Gyarados to lose its mind like that. Still, I couldn't abandon it..."

"Fortunately, you came to help. I don't even know how to thank you. My name is Misty, a Trainer from Cerulean City. I owe you my life."

"It was no trouble," Satoshi replied with a warm smile. "Anyone who came across a situation like that would step in to help. I'm Satoshi, a Rookie Trainer from Pallet Town."

"Rookie Trainer?" Misty raised an eyebrow, looking at him curiously. "You're far stronger than the usual Rookies."

Her words held admiration but also intrigue. She was trying to reconcile his apparent strength with his self-proclaimed inexperience.

Satoshi shrugged modestly. "Well, I've had a bit of luck along the way. By the way, what will you do about those who stole your Gyarados?"

Misty's expression turned serious. "I've been thinking about that. I can't let them get away with it. Satoshi, would you help me track down the thieves?"

"Ding! Cerulean City trainer Misty seeks your help. You have triggered the hidden task: 'Misty's Request.'"

Task: Find and identify the thief who stole Misty's Pokémon!

Satoshi accepted the task without hesitation, though he already knew the answer. "Of course. Pokémon thieves like that need to be stopped."

Misty beamed. "Thank you, Satoshi! Let's go find them right away!"

As she spoke, a system notification appeared in Satoshi's mind.

"Ding! Because of your behavior, Misty's favorability towards you has increased! It is now at 'Friendly.'"

"Hold on," Satoshi said, his tone calm and measured. "We don't know where they are right now. Rushing off blindly will only waste time and energy."

Misty blinked, surprised by his logic. "Then what should we do?"

Satoshi smirked knowingly. "Let's ask Professor Oak. He's an expert on Pokémon and has a lot of resources. If anyone can help us find a lead, it's him."

"Professor Oak?" Misty's eyes widened. "You mean the famous Pokémon researcher? Of course! You're from Pallet Town, so it makes sense you'd know him."

She seemed reassured by the suggestion, and her enthusiasm grew.

Satoshi took out his Pokégear and made a call to Professor Oak. Before dialing, he also used the Pokémon Center's PC to transfer the extra Pokémon he had caught back to Professor Oak's lab for safekeeping.

"I'll explain the situation to him. With his help, we'll get to the bottom of this," Satoshi assured Misty.
