Pokemon : Rewind

"The life responses of three suspected Legendary Pokémon have been detected..." 

A synthetic female voice echoed through the collection hall of the Sky Fortress, waking Lawrence from his deep contemplation as he stood gazing outside.

"Which one is closest to us?" Lawrence quickly made his way back to his seat in the otherwise empty hall, his heart racing with excitement.

A virtual screen flickered to life in front of him, displaying a 30x30 square map. 

It showcased three islands marked by distinct colors: red for Fire Island, blue for Ice Island, and yellow for Lightning Island. 

To the east of these, a larger green island loomed—Shamouti Island.

Underneath the islands, a triangular icon represented his spaceship, positioned just south of the four islands. 

According to the readings, Fire Island was the closest.

"Let's take action. They should be falling asleep by now…" A sly smile crept across Lawrence's face. 

The platform beneath his seat began to rise, transporting him to the upper level.

Upon arriving, he entered the command room, a hollow space devoid of any walls. 

Four paths branched out from the central platform, leading to various control panels. 

Lawrence settled into the central seat, facing north, where he commanded the spacecraft and plotted the capture of the gods.

"Prepare freezing bombs. We'll freeze the island to draw out Moltres," he instructed, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as he surveyed the screen displaying Fire Island's location.

"Yes!" came the prompt response from the artificial intelligence. 

The spacecraft's base descended, revealing three cannon barrels that aimed menacingly at Fire Island below. 

With a thunderous boom, one of the barrels unleashed an extremely low-temperature freezing bomb.

"Boom!" The launch created a soft thud, yet the freezing bomb travelled at blinding speed, covering the distance of thousands of meters in an instant.

The bomb struck the island, bursting forth an icy-blue light. 

Within moments, the area it hit was enveloped in a thick layer of ice, Impostering the once-vibrant landscape into a frigid wasteland.

But the assault didn't stop there. The base rotated, and before long, another cannon fired, followed by a rapid succession of seven freezing bombs in just two seconds.

"Boom—Boom—Boom!" The successive explosions turned the greenery of Fire Island into a realm of ice and snow, even encasing the central volcano in a layer of frost. 

The chill emanated across the island, while one of the bombs sealed the entrance to the volcano in solid ice.

As the map on Lawrence's console updated, it shrank down to a 15x15 grid. 

His spaceship now occupied a central grid position, with an orange-red bird-shaped icon representing Moltres situated above it.

"This should do it. It's only a matter of time before it comes out... the God of Fire," 

Lawrence said, eyes locked on the screen displaying the situation on Fire Island. 

Even in its dormant state, Moltres would sense the disturbance and awaken.

Moments later, a billow of steam erupted from the ice-covered cave entrance on the island, casting an orange-red glow across the frozen surface. 

Suddenly, a scorching inferno burst forth, melting the ice and revealing the legendary Moltres.

The majestic Pokémon emerged, its orange-brown feathers shimmering. 

With a long, pointed beak and flaming wings, Moltres was the embodiment of fury, angered by the invasion of its territory and the chilling assault that had disrupted its slumber.

"It's humans again…" Moltres narrowed its eyes, the anger simmering beneath its calm facade.

With powerful wingbeats, it soared toward the clouds above, unleashing a spiralling Flamethrower from its beak.

The intensity of the flames warped the air around them, creating a distortion that defied logic. Lawrence's eyes lit up with admiration at the display of power.

"Impressive," he conceded, but a smirk crept onto his face. "But you're merely a turtle in a pot right now!, high-pressure Hydro Pump, attack!"

"Understood!" The artificial intelligence's voice remained devoid of emotion as the cannon fired a highly compressed Hydro Pump, aimed directly at Moltres.

"Boom!" The Hydro Pump collided with the Flamethrower, producing an explosion of steam that filled the air.

Moltres's eyes widened in disbelief. It had not anticipated resistance to its attack.

The assault intensified, with a volley of fifteen Hydro Pumps launched in rapid succession. 

They spread out in a formation, strategically surrounding Moltres and forcing it to confront the onslaught head-on.

"How dare these humans!" Moltres screeched, its eyes ablaze with defiance.

Flames surged within its beak as it gathered Fire-type energy, Impostering into visible sparks. 

With a furious roar, it unleashed a massive blast of fire, engulfing the incoming Hydro Pump.
