Chapter 371: Chapter 53: The Fortress Arrives at the Orange Islands

Late at night, high above the waters north of the Orange Islands, something cut through the clouds, parting them like a curtain.

An invisible presence soared through the sky, a marvel of engineering known only to its creator.

This was the culmination of Lawrence's lifelong efforts, a spaceship he named "Sky Garden." After years of planning, he had successfully navigated it from the Kanto Region to the Orange Islands to enact his grand scheme.

Inside the spaceship's expansive control room, Lawrence sat in the driver's seat, engrossed in a virtual reality display that showcased a stone tablet inscribed with ancient characters.

The stone tablet's secrets had been deciphered by Lawrence, revealing prophecies that filled him with confidence.

"The God of Fire, the God of Thunder, the God of Ice... all sacred and inviolable," he murmured to himself, tracing the symbols on the screen.

His heart raced at the thought that, here in the Orange Islands, he could realize his ambition to collect the gods.

"Breaking the taboo will anger the Earthquake, and the world will teeter on the brink of destruction..." he continued reading, each word fuelling his resolve.

"The God of the Sea will appear to stave off the destruction, but even he cannot prevent it..."

He paused, pondering the implications. "Unless a capable controller emerges to quell the gods' rage."

"My hope lies not with the God of Fire, nor the God of Thunder, nor the God of Ice..."

Lawrence concluded, dismissing the impending chaos as inconsequential to his ultimate goal.

He was consumed by a singular desire: to collect the gods, regardless of the world's fate.

His extensive research had led him to discover that the God of Fire was none other than Moltres, residing around the Orange Islands and Shamouti Island.

As one of the legendary three sacred birds, Moltres was more than a mere Pokémon; it represented a fragment of divine power.

The same held true for Zapdos, the God of Thunder, and Articuno, the God of Ice. But Lawrence understood that not all three could genuinely be called gods.

As a genius in his field, he had uncovered a truth that few were aware of: only those who harnessed divine power could break the barriers of legend, stepping into the realm of myth and becoming true gods in the eyes of the world.

Moltres, residing near Shamouti Island, wielded part of the Law of Fire's power. This was knowledge hidden even from the generations of residents on Shamouti Island, who unwittingly revered a true god.

The four islands—Shamouti Island, Fire Island, Lightning Island, and Ice Island—functioned as the linchpins of ocean currents, influencing not just the Orange Islands but the entire world's ecosystem.

Any disruption in this balance would lead to catastrophic consequences, altering climates and throwing nature into chaos.

Lawrence concluded that such disturbances would invoke the appearance of Lugia, the God of the Sea. Only by creating a perfect storm of turmoil could he hope to capture this elusive deity.

"Now is not the right time..." Lawrence mused, resting his chin on his hand. Though he had arrived in the Orange Islands, even reaching Shamouti Island was not his immediate goal.

According to his extensive investigations, the three gods would soon enter a dormant phase, coinciding with Shamouti Island's upcoming celebration—a mere three days away.

Waiting for this dormant period was crucial to ensure nothing went awry.

Even Lawrence, with his vast intellect, understood the folly of challenging the gods at their peak. Instead, he planned to strike when their powers were at their weakest.

"So, I will wait…" he said with a sly smile.

---

The next day, after bidding farewell to Rudy, Ash and his friends set out from Trovita Island, heading toward their next destination: Kumquat Island, the location of the last gym in the Orange Islands.

To reach Kumquat Island, they would have to pass through Shamouti Island, making it their true next stop.

Before leaving, Ash learned from Rudy that he had decided to take his sister on a journey outside the Orange Islands once he handed over his responsibilities.

Rudy also mentioned his plans to participate in the Silver Conference, hoping to meet Ash again there.

"I'm really looking forward to our next match," Ash said, excitement bubbling in his voice.

However, beneath that anticipation lay a hint of worry, knowing that Shamouti Island held significant events that could lead to unforeseen consequences.

Shamouti Island was where a cataclysmic event had unfolded in the original movie.

Ash couldn't shake the fear that history might repeat itself, especially with his presence altering the course of events.

As Rudy mentioned, Shamouti would soon host a celebration, and they were eager to arrive in time.

However, traveling from Trovita Island to Shamouti Island posed a challenge. The distance was considerable, and with Lapras's current speed, they wouldn't make it in time.

Instead, they would return to Little Orange Island first, then take a boat to Shamouti Island.

Upon reaching Little Orange Island, Ash and his friends quickly discovered that their initial plan had been overly simplistic.

The celebration at Shamouti Island was renowned, drawing in tourists from far and wide, making securing tickets a daunting task.

"What should we do…?" Misty said, hugging Togepi as a frown crossed her face. She didn't want to miss out on such a rare occasion. The celebration was special, and who knew when the next opportunity would arise?

Ash and Tracey were left with no choice but to remain at the harbor, hoping to find someone willing to sell or refund their tickets.

Just as disappointment began to set in, a girl around eighteen or nineteen approached them, having overheard their conversation.

"Are you trying to get to Shamouti Island?" she asked, her voice curious and familiar.
