Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 261: Chapter 261: The Attack on Swellow

After Swellow was tamed, this was the first time it had traveled alone, and it felt very excited about it. It sped towards Lavaridge Town like a gust of wind.

Because of Swellow's incredible speed, it often surpassed other flying Pokémon before they even realized it, leaving them staring at each other in confusion as it quickly disappeared.

After two hours of non-stop flying, Swellow finally reached the sky above Lavaridge Town.

After locating the herbal medicine store, Swellow dove down and landed directly in front of the shop.

This exhilarating flight had left Swellow in high spirits, but the non-stop speed had drained a lot of its energy.

Once it landed, Swellow went straight to the door of the herbal shop and began pecking at it, producing a sound similar to knocking.

"Swellow, thank you for your hard work!"

Hearing the noise, Flannery and her grandfather came to the door and spoke to Swellow.

Flannery removed the herb-filled package from around Swellow's neck. Seeing that Swellow was preparing to leave, she quickly called it back. Although Swellow was puzzled, it obediently stayed, curious about what Flannery wanted to do.

After a while, Flannery came out of the shop carrying a plate with what looked like pastries.

"These pastries were made by my grandmother. They have berries and some medicinal herbs mixed in. They'll help restore your strength. Eat these before you leave!"

Flannery gently placed the plate in front of Swellow and spoke kindly.

Swellow looked at the pastries, nodded to Flannery, and then started eating without hesitation.

As soon as the pastry entered its mouth, Swellow's eyes lit up. The taste was different from anything it had eaten before, but it definitely liked it.

Before long, Swellow had finished the entire plate and drank a few sips of water. Feeling much better, it immediately took off toward Rex's Farm again.

The pastries indeed had a restorative effect, as Swellow felt that much of its energy had returned.

With its spirits lifted by the delicious food, Swellow began flying in intricate patterns, showing off some fancy aerial moves.

If its trainer had been sitting on its back, Swellow wouldn't have been able to perform such stunts. Therefore, it felt that sometimes flying solo had its advantages.

When Swellow was about a quarter of the way from Rex's Farm, it encountered a Salamence in the sky.

Salamence was a Dragon-type Pokémon that walked on four legs. It had two large, blood-red wings and a long tail. Its body was primarily dark blue, with crimson coloring on the inside of its wings, neck, limbs, and tail. Its lower jaw and abdomen were protected by three shells, and its head had two blood-red crests above its eyes. There were also three small triangular wings on each side of its head.

It was said that Salamence had long wished for wings to fly, so much so that its body's cells underwent a mutation, granting it the majestic wings it dreamed of.

To express its joy, Salamence soared endlessly through the skies, rarely landing unless it was exhausted.

While Salamence found great pleasure in flying, once angered, it would lose control and wreak havoc, destroying everything in its path.

It would burn forests and mountains with its fiery breath, tear things apart with its claws, and continue its rampage until it was utterly exhausted. Sometimes, Salamence would engage in aerial battles with Garchomp over food.

The two Pokémon faced off in the air, their terrifying presence making them hesitate to make the first move. This was Swellow's first time seeing a Salamence, but its instinct told it that this Dragon-type Pokémon was incredibly powerful.

Without its trainer, Rex, by its side, Swellow decided it was best not to provoke a confrontation. It let out a cry towards Salamence and prepared to leave.

However, just as Swellow turned to leave, a terrifying blast of fire shot from Salamence's mouth, hurtling toward it.

Swellow's speed allowed it to dodge the surprise attack, and a high-speed chase began in the sky. Terrifying energy beams were fired from both sides as they clashed mid-air.

As they drew closer, Swellow noticed that there was a trainer riding on Salamence's back. Although it didn't know why it was being attacked, Swellow wasn't one to back down easily. It retaliated, and a fierce aerial battle erupted.

In terms of raw power, Swellow could sense that it was slightly weaker than Salamence.

However, since the trainer was on Salamence's back, the Dragon-type couldn't unleash its full strength. This made the battle more balanced, with Swellow even gaining a slight advantage.

The trainer riding Salamence was named Beach, from Santalune City in the Kalos region. He came from a wealthy family, with both parents holding high positions in the Kalos League. When he became a trainer, his parents procured a prized Bagon egg for him.

Beach's parents paid a hefty price and called in many favors to acquire the Bagon egg, which was said to be from the offspring of Elite Four Pokémon.

Grateful for the opportunity his parents gave him, Beach raised Bagon carefully, and over time, it evolved into the powerful Salamence. Now, Beach was a highly skilled trainer.

With Salamence's immense power, Beach had defeated many opponents and had even placed well in several regional tournaments. Unfortunately, he had never won the championship, with his best result being runner-up.

This time, Beach had come to the Hoenn region not only to compete in the Ever Grande Conference but also to catch some of the region's unique Pokémon.

The reason Beach had ordered Salamence to attack Swellow was because Swellow was unusually large for its species, about twice the size of a normal Swellow. Beach, who had a preference for large Pokémon, was determined to capture it.

What Beach hadn't anticipated was that this Swellow was so powerful that even his ace, Salamence, couldn't defeat it.

Of course, Beach realized that Salamence wasn't fighting at full strength because it was wary of him sitting on its back.

Beach knew that he couldn't let this continue. If Salamence exhausted itself, they'd never be able to catch Swellow, who was incredibly fast.

Resolute, Beach pulled out another Poké Ball from his waist, and soon a Noivern appeared in the sky.

Though Noivern wasn't as strong as Salamence, it was more than capable of helping to pin down Swellow. With a two-on-one advantage, Beach was confident that Swellow wouldn't be able to escape.

Seeing the new arrival, Swellow grew anxious.

It could handle one Salamence, but with a strong Noivern added to the mix, it couldn't hold out for long.

Following the principle that a wise hero avoids needless danger, Swellow decided to stop fighting and, with incredible speed, flew off toward Rex's Farm.
