Chapter 105: The Little Spirit in the Egg
Su Feng immediately checked the door lock—no signs of tampering. His room was on the ship's top deck; no one could've climbed in through the window. A sudden realization struck him. He rushed to the incubator, where shattered eggshells confirmed his suspicion.
"Combusken! Haunter! Find the little one!" Su Feng ordered.
The room was sealed. Unless the newborn Pokémon could phase through walls like Haunter, it had to be hiding somewhere inside. The downside of a sprawling presidential suite quickly became apparent—Combusken and Haunter scoured the bathroom, dining area, and living room but found nothing.
Only one possibility remained.
Su Feng pushed open the bedroom door. The room was pristine, exactly as he'd left it—except for a conspicuous lump in the center of his bed.
Su Feng: "…"
Tiptoeing to the bedside, he gently lifted the blanket. A pure white, cotton-like Pokémon with sky-blue eyes peered up at him curiously. The creature resembled a tiny fox, its six fluffy tails gathered into a snowy cluster, delicate ice crystals shimmering around them. A tuft of curly white fur crowned its head, amplifying its charm.
"Alolan Vulpix…"
Relief washed over Su Feng as he finally met the hatchling. The Vulpix, spotting him, leapt excitedly toward his arms. Su Feng caught the playful bundle, its body cool but refreshing, like a breeze in a summer room.
"Vulpix, why were you in my bed?" Su Feng asked softly.
"Vuu?" The Vulpix tilted its head, confused.
"Never mind." Su Feng chuckled, ruffling its fur. Newborn Pokémon couldn't understand human speech yet. Like all infants, it likely sought the scent of its "parent." Since Su Feng had carried the egg close for days, the Vulpix had imprinted on him.
"Sorry I wasn't here when you hatched," he murmured, stroking its back. "You must've been scared."
"Vuu~" The Vulpix nuzzled his chest, eager to soak in his scent.
Combusken and Haunter, hearing the commotion, entered the bedroom. Their stern expressions softened at the sight of the dozing Vulpix. Su Feng signaled for quiet and gently laid the pup on a pillow before settling beside it.
One question lingered: What "special gift" had Kyurem bestowed? Su Feng saw nothing unusual—Maybe it's too young to manifest? He shrugged, drifting into sleep with his team.
Chapter 106: The Pokémon in the Mysterious Realm
The semifinals of the Beauty Contest began. Three standout contestants remained: the Butterfree trainer, the martial artist with Hitmonchan, and the violinist with Kricketune. But today, an unregistered star stole the spotlight—Su Feng's snowy Vulpix.
"What Pokémon is that? So cute!"
"Those fluffy tails! It's like a cloud!"
"I need to pet it! Please!"
A brave girl approached the judges' table. "Mr. Su, may I… touch your Vulpix?"
Su Feng offered an apologetic smile. "She's shy around strangers."
The girl blinked. "That's a Vulpix? But Vulpix are supposed to be red…"
"Regional variants exist," Su Feng explained. "I'll cover this in a future stream."
As the girl retreated, Mick leaned over, grinning. "Why not get her number? She was adorable."
Su Feng deadpanned, "Is she cuter than my Vulpix?"
"Vuu~" The Vulpix chirped on cue.
Mick: "…" How is this guy so dense?
The Semifinals Begin
First up: the martial artist and Hitmonchan. To everyone's shock, they wheeled out a massive stone slab.
The man lay on the stage, Hitmonchan placing the stone on his chest.
Su Feng's eye twitched. Is he… attempting chest-breaking a stone?!
"Hitmonchan, Mach Punch!" the man shouted.
Hitmonchan's fist glowed white, but hesitation froze it mid-swing. Its trainer's body was fragile—one wrong move could shatter ribs.
Just then, a crewmember burst into the hall, panic-stricken.
"Emergency! A mysterious realm has appeared ahead of the S.S. Anne!"
