Chapter 16: Chapter 16 - Perfection
Some days have passed since your arrival at Camp Half-Blood, and a lot has happened in the meantime.
Ikki got used to a routine that seemed almost normal, excluding the fact that he had classes with satyrs, nymphs, and a centaur.
Every morning he studied Ancient Greek with Annabeth and even Latin, which he found he learned faster. The two talked about the Gods and Goddesses in the present, which was a bit strange since many of their stories were slightly different in reality.
Due to having cured his dyslexia, he had no trouble reading anything, and because of this, in this class, he performed even better than any child of the Goddess of Wisdom.
For the rest of the day, he alternated between outdoor activities, looking for something he was good at. And to the perplexity of the immortal centaur, he was good at practically everything. In archery, his accuracy was perfect.
In races with the instructors, nymphs of the woods, he was even better than they were, who had centuries of practice running from lovesick gods; in fact, he was easily the fastest demigod in Greek history, or at least he was on par with Achilles, who could cross the battlefield in an instant.
And in combat, he was practically a master, and the other campers were his students. It was easy for him to defeat them in any type of combat due to his physical and mental superiority. He also learned a lot from each fight he experienced.
He quickly discovered one thing he loved to do. That was spending his time with Silena in the stables.
The Daughter of the Goddess of Love taught him to ride a Pegasus and he was able to fly around the camp, one of the best feelings in the world.
Aside from the beginning of his journey as a camper, there was one incident worth mentioning.
The kidnapping attempt that the Aphrodite cabin made in the dead of night.
They tried to kidnap him and take him to their cabin, intending to use him as a sex toy or something like that, but it didn't work out due to the various demigods who had good senses and noticed their presence. He also didn't sleep at night and stayed meditating, so this was bound to fail.
The good thing was that the punishment for these campers was to do their chores for the next three months.
The bad thing was that despite their failed attempt, the campers of Aphrodite didn't give up so easily. For the next few days, they launched a heavy offense, using their magical powers of love, [Charm], to try to win him over for themselves. The exception was Silena, who was very livid with her brothers and sisters for trying to do something like that – she felt jealous and possessive of their target and didn't want anyone to get close to him.
Determined to get back at the campers who pursued him like moths, Ikki teamed up with two boys from the Hermes cabin; the twin brothers, Connor Stoll and Travis Stoll, who loved to pull pranks. It was on these two that Luke was giving a good lecture on the day he arrived at the Hermes cabin.
The two tried to play one of their tricks on him, but they were unsuccessful, and after that, they became somewhat of his friends and helped in his revenge. They came up with a pretty mischievous prank.
The three of them replaced hair products like shampoo and conditioner with colored dye, and the twins also mixed in a liquid that had a smell combining sulfur with rotten eggs. As soon as this "liquid crap" was mixed with the dye, the smell disappeared and the original color of the dye looked just like those hair products, with no noticeable difference.
Travis and Connor said this dye would act like a normal hair product for an hour, and after that hour was up, the dye would take effect, instantly coloring the hair and then after a few minutes releasing the foul smell.
The children of Aphrodite cared more about their appearance than about their lives. So, it was a good way to get revenge.
He had to admit, his two new friends were geniuses at pulling pranks. Unfortunately, both didn't want to tell him where they got the dye and the smell, according to them, it was a trade secret.
After the three prepared the legendary prank, they waited to watch the show. The prank was perfectly timed for when the vast majority of the campers from the Goddess of Love's cabin would be taking showers.
An hour later, the entire camp heard terrified screams coming from cabin number ten. Calling all demigods over there expecting an attack from some enemy or something like that.
But when they got there, every camper started laughing.
The sons and daughters of Aphrodite had hair colors ranging from red, blue, orange, and even mixed colors like one particular hair that looked like a rainbow. Particularly the terrified faces of the campers were very funny.
Suddenly, people smelled something that made them want to vomit.
The campers of Aphrodite fainted from disgust and horror, and the rest of the campers quickly left the area.
Chiron came to see what was happening, and after seeing the state of the campers of Aphrodite, even he had to hold back his laughter.
But Ikki, who was "drawing closer to the commotion," noticed that his lips were trembling. To be honest, he who watched everything from afar thanks to his supernatural vision, was also having difficulty holding back his laughter.
The immortal centaur tried to find the culprit... In fact, everyone knew it was Travis and Connor, as they had a reputation. However, the lack of evidence made it impossible to accuse any of them, and that meant no one would be punished for the wicked prank.
Remembering all this, a laugh escaped from his lips.
Ikki looked up at the starry night sky, whose stars and the moon illuminated the entire camp. The waves of the sea lapped gently against his bare feet on the sand.
Everyone at the camp had already gone to sleep, only a few stayed behind to patrol, but they were easy to bypass.
Observing the sky, feeling the cool breeze, and feeling the water and sand under his feet was something he had done in recent days since he arrived at this place.
"Well, Percy would love to see this landscape. Since he loves the sea..."
He murmured to himself.
His best friend still hadn't woken up. Grover was luckier and woke up three days ago. The satyr immediately came to meet him and apologized for his failure to fulfill his duty to protect Percy and him.
Counting today, it would be almost five full days since that night when he got careless and his best friend's mother died...
In the past few days, he tried not to think about it. However, it was a somewhat recurring topic in his mind, ways to bring someone back to life, to take revenge on the King of the Underworld, and to become stronger. Besides the constant longing for his mother.
Yes, he had a lot on his mind...
But he managed to distract himself a bit through the constant practice of his Qi and the refinement of his body. He avoided using the [Nameless Mantra] for a while because he felt he was on the verge of another breakthrough again and, because of that, was mentally preparing himself, as he felt it would be very exhausting. Since the amount of his 'Source' reflects on the amount of his other energies, he could only increase his myriad of different energies through the obscure Mantra in his mind, which was the only way he knew to increase his 'Source'... Somehow it was a complex and simple energy mechanism that only he had.
During the days he spent at the camp, besides training his body through Qi, he also accidentally created a very powerful ability. After fighting several times against demigods who were much weaker than him while controlling his physical capacity to their level, he decided to elevate that capacity to the next level, trying to generate specific energies to control his body with his 'Source,' something that wasn't very difficult. Learning to do this, he spent the rest of the time making it a natural part of his existence, like [Presence Manipulation], which was basically his own superpower; it took him a few days to achieve that desire.
And that's how his [Artificial Divinity] was born, an ability with almost unlimited potential. With it, he essentially has complete and total control over the biological and systematic capabilities of his own body, literally everything was under his control now, from muscles, bones, veins, neurons to reflexes, instincts, coordination, and psychomotor movements in all their potential. Being able to move athletically and acrobatically with remarkable grace, along with the voluntary enhancement of his biological systems to maximize his performance.
Although it is a newly created ability, he has already developed some effects, for example, 'Instructive Muscle Memory' perfectly imitating other actions or movements after direct and indirect observation, from visual information of stunts and gymnastics to the implicit visualization of a lecture on juggling. In other words, he just needed to see any type of use of the human body and could imitate it with surgical precision. To enhance that capacity, he reconfigured his own brain capabilities to increase and modulate intellectual ability, thus focusing this capacity to remember various martial arts he had seen in manga or obtained in his imagination while reading some description in a novel, downloading that information to his body.
He was now a genuine martial arts master who was constantly evolving.
Aside from these two uses, he also learned to manipulate the Telomere: controlling the process by which genes and cells expire, allowing for stagnation, acceleration, or reversal of physical age, becoming someone whose age was basically irrelevant at that moment, as he could choose to never age if he wanted or to instantly age to the age he desired and then regress back at the same instant.
As for the unexplored remainder of this ability, he was still in the process of developing it...
The only problem with his [Artificial Divinity] was that it relied heavily on his 'Source,' so he could not become someone with an invincible physique due to a lack of enough 'energy' for that. In other words, although the method he had created was basically divine, he was still limited by the fuel provided to execute its effects. But even so, it remained his most terrifying ability at the moment...
Ikki looked at his hand, and while thinking about the ability he had created, a slight smile appeared on his lips.
He looked up at the night sky, who would have thought that one day he would be reborn in another world that he always considered mere fiction, see his mother who had died of cancer, and have the opportunity to grow stronger through fantastical powers? Life really takes unexpected turns...
Shaking his head negatively, he returned to his Cabin silently, manipulating his presence to make himself practically invincible so that no one would suspect his departure; he had placed his presence on the mattress, making everyone who looked in his direction see him sleeping peacefully.
...
"Let me ask you. Would your brothers be able to get the dye out of their hair after that prank?" Ikki asked the girl beside him.
It was around three in the afternoon, and as always, he followed his routine at the camp. In this case, during the first half of the afternoon, he was spending time with his best friend.
They were feeding the Pegasi, each of them had a bucket of special hay that the winged horses loved in their hands, and they were sitting on individual wooden boxes, a few centimeters apart. In front of him was a white Pegasus and in front of her was a gray one.
"Some were lucky, and others who weren't are obsessed with getting revenge on the 'monster' who did that to their beautiful hair and ruined their perfect appearance..." said Silena, offering some hay to the winged horse in front of her.
An ironic smile appeared on his lips when she finished her words.
Although she was used to him by her side over the past few days, the excitement that had blossomed since she first saw him grew stronger, making it almost impossible to calm her heart, whether from happiness, nervousness, or even excitement. It was a whirlwind of emotions so wonderful that it nearly made her dizzy.
Being honest with herself, she had never thought she could be so happy with someone's company.
"Considering that they haven't come to the dining pavilion in the last few days, I can imagine what their mood is like... But I think that's good! After all, I don't need to worry about them anymore..." Ikki said with a certain relief in his voice while feeding the Pegasus in front of him with the remainder of the hay he had in his bucket.
Silena laughed and asked provocatively, "Another camper would be thrilled with all the attention he would receive from my sisters. But you don't like it?..."
"You know how annoying your brothers and sisters are? They have no shame. Some of your sisters came up to me and ran their hands over my body, and some even took certain opportunities to show me their 'sexy bodies'... I've never seen so many bare butts in my life. Those girls were thirsty!"
Ikki sighed while bewilderedly recounting what he had been through in the past days. Of course, he forgot to mention the boys who wanted to shower with him in some lake or in the public shower. And some erections here and there from them that got excited watching him fight or doing some camp activity.
"Did it really come to that?..." Silena said, somewhat perplexed by what she heard. Were her sisters undressing in an attempt to seduce him?
Nodding, Ikki stood up stretching and said, "Yeah, but it's not that important. Blame the teenage hormones..."
"Even so, I will have a talk with them." Silena said with a slight frown on her beautiful face. She was jealous! Giving a sidelong glance at Ikki, she bit her lip.
Wasn't she pretty enough to catch his attention?
Since after the past few days, the two had become best friends who knew almost everything about each other. But he had shown no romantic interest in her... Her heart trembled with pain and anguish at the possibility that this would last forever.
"Thank you, Silena." Ikki said with a smile. A smile that chased away all her negative emotions, making her lose herself and forget where she was, even forgetting to breathe.
With a blush on her cheeks, she nodded and watched him turn and head toward the exit. On the way, he gave her a wave and said.
"Well, I have to go for my archery training with Chiron. See you tomorrow! Take care and be well."
After he left, Silena felt the same sense of loss as always and became distracted feeding the winged horse in front of her.
Meanwhile, Ikki, who had just stepped out of the stables, ran into one of the demigods from the Apollo cabin. The bronzed blonde boy approached him with a fearful and nervous demeanor, as if heading toward an inevitable and horrible fate!
"Chiron is calling you to the Big House..." said the boy, swallowing hard and looking in his direction.
At that moment, he froze and was in a state that made it impossible to tear his eyes from the masterpiece in front of him.
"Thank you..." Ikki thanked, giving a wave of farewell and walking toward the Big House.
The son of the Sun God followed him with his eyes, looking like a fool staring at his crush.
"You're welcome, you're welcome." The camper stood rooted to the spot, laughing foolishly. He kept waving his hand in a trance and didn't stop even when Ikki had long since disappeared...
After a while...
Fuck, wasn't he a man?!
The boy finally came to his senses. He quickly placed a hand on his chest.
His heart was racing.
Jesus, am I swaying like this?!
Another camper... What do they call it nowadays? He found out...
