Chapter 112: Chapter 112

**Chapter 112: How to Slap Yourself in the Face?**

The next afternoon, Zhao Ling and Ah Yin stepped out of their room, hand in hand, and strolled outside the cabin.

To their surprise, they saw Bo Saixi slumped against the cabin door, her face filled with despair. Her eyes were bloodshot, her eye sockets hollowed, and heavy bags hung under her eyes, as though she had been punched twice.

Her disheveled appearance startled Zhao Ling and Ah Yin.

"What happened here?" Zhao Ling wondered.

Did the Sea God Douluo encounter a formidable opponent last night, exhausting her vitality in battle?

No, that didn't seem right. At present, only Tang Chen and Qian Daoliu were capable of matching Bo Saixi in combat power, but neither would have any reason to fight her.

Or could it be that she simply didn't sleep all night and was now in a bad mood? But that didn't seem plausible either. As a dignified Extreme Douluo, even a week without sleep wouldn't leave her in such a state.

As Zhao Ling and Ah Yin approached, Bo Saixi's silver teeth ground audibly.

Her mind seethed with irritation. 'These two… talking about such disgusting things in the middle of the night is one thing, but must they also engage in activities that are clearly unsuitable for children in a poorly soundproofed cabin?'

Recalling the events of last night, Bo Saixi's heart sank.

She felt as though she had never been more miserable. She had been content with her solitude, yet now, her peace was shattered by the antics of these two beasts next door.

All night long, she had been tormented by the noise from the adjacent room. The thought of banging on their door and shouting, "Can you two please keep it down?!"*had crossed her mind more than once.

But she held back, knowing the Cloud Piercing Shuttle belonged to them. Their generosity in letting her stay was already a significant favor.

Of course, Bo Saixi could have left if she wished. She wasn't without resources or connections and could easily go elsewhere.

Yet she stayed, driven by her need to uncover Tang Chen's whereabouts from Zhao Ling. Leaving prematurely would make her task significantly harder.

'Patience. Endure the storm, and calm will follow. Take a step back, and the horizon broadens.' Bo Saixi repeated this mantra to herself, clinging to the hope of her ultimate goal.

Even so, her bloodshot eyes unnerved Zhao Ling and Ah Yin. Her intense glare made them feel as though she was seconds away from attacking.

"Sister Bo Saixi, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Zhao Ling asked with genuine concern.

Ah Yin added, "Sister Saixi, did you not sleep well last night?"

Bo Saixi rolled her eyes and snapped, "It's all your fault! Don't you realize how poor the soundproofing is in a wooden cabin?"

Ah Yin's cheeks turned scarlet at her words. Embarrassed, she hid behind Zhao Ling, burying her face in his back and muttering, "I can't show my face anymore. It's all your fault, you big meanie! I told you to behave last night..."

Zhao Ling pulled her from behind, wrapping an arm around her waist. He kissed her forehead gently and comforted her with a soft smile.

"Silly girl, it's just the three of us in the forest. No one else heard anything, so there's no need to feel embarrassed. As for Sister Bo Saixi… it's not fair to accuse us of eavesdropping."

Bo Saixi nearly exploded. Eavesdropping?

Were they serious? She didn't need to eavesdrop to hear their antics. Even a deaf person would have heard them! And now, this man had the nerve to shift the blame onto her?

Bo Saixi glared at Zhao Ling, ready to unleash her anger. But as her gaze met his, something peculiar happened.

The fury bubbling within her dissipated. Instead, she felt a strange warmth toward him—a faint admiration she couldn't explain.

It wasn't the first time she'd experienced this. From the moment she met Zhao Ling, her eyes seemed unable to leave him, and an inexplicable fondness had begun to grow.

What disturbed her most was that this budding affection for Zhao Ling was slowly replacing her longstanding feelings for Tang Chen.

Desperate to break free from his spell, she pinched her waist hard. The pain snapped her out of her daze, and she quickly looked away.

Her thoughts churned. 'Did Zhao Ling use some kind of "charming" soul skill on me?'

Yet she immediately dismissed the idea.

As a Level 99 Extreme Douluo with the protection of a Wisdom Soul Bone, she was highly resistant to mental manipulation. Moreover, she had sensed no soul power fluctuations from Zhao Ling.

This growing admiration for Zhao Ling was entirely instinctive. Just being near him drew her in—a feeling both strange and alarming.

Bo Saixi frowned, troubled by the realization. If this continued, her affection for Tang Chen might vanish entirely, leaving Zhao Ling to take his place in her heart.

She began to question whether staying aboard the Cloud Piercing Shuttle was wise. The longer she remained, the more she felt herself falling for him.

Her gaze shifted to Ah Yin, nestled happily in Zhao Ling's arms, laughter dancing in her eyes. For a fleeting moment, Bo Saixi envied her.

And then the unthinkable happened: she imagined herself in Ah Yin's place, wrapped in Zhao Ling's embrace.

Bo Saixi jolted upright, horrified by her thoughts. 'I'm losing my mind. Yes, that must be it. How else could I have such absurd ideas?'

She raised her right hand and slapped her cheek hard, then did the same with her left hand.

The sharp sting snapped her back to reality, but her actions startled Zhao Ling and Ah Yin.

"What's wrong with her now?" Zhao Ling muttered, perplexed.

"Doesn't that hurt?" Ah Yin added, worried.

Bo Saixi, ignoring their concern, silently vowed to keep her emotions in check. Yet deep down, she knew this battle with herself was far from over.
