Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Potential Husband
After Riser and his peerage returned to the underworld, Grayfia told me she has something private to speak. "Riser-sama doesn't know that you are a god, Alexander-sama."
"I figured as much," I replied. "He let me participate in the Rating Game, after all. If he knew what I was, he wouldn't even consider the possibility of fighting me much less allowing me to participate in the Rating Game."
Grayfia's expression remained serious. "There are significant political implications if it comes to light that you are from a different faction and are participating in a Rating Game. The underworld is very sensitive to external influences, especially from beings of your caliber."
"Even with those risks, you didn't tell Riser that I am a god," I said. "If my guess is right, even if I don't do anything, you still wouldn't allow Rias to marry someone she doesn't love, right?"
Grayfia's eyes softened slightly. "You are correct, Alexander-sama. My loyalty to the Gremory family, especially to Devil King-sama, runs deep. I would not let her be forced into a marriage against her will. However, it is crucial to navigate this situation with care. The political landscape of the underworld is delicate, and any misstep could have severe repercussions."
"And You know how Civil war can change the whole topography of rule."
I nodded, appreciating her candor. "I understand. I'll make sure to be cautious. My priority is to support Rias without drawing too much attention. But I will deal with Riser my myself."
"Do what you think is necessary, but I request you to focus on supporting Rias and her peerage without revealing the extent of your power. Let them shine in the forefront. I know this is too much to ask from you, but Sirzechs has promised you to give anything within his power for your help."
"Anything, huh?" I said, stepping closer to her.
Grayfia involuntarily took a step back. Her eyes widened slightly, and I could tell she was anticipating something indecent.
"Yes, I support his decision," she said, meeting my gaze with resolve.
Now that's a look I've seen before—the eyes of a maid in Nazarick ready to sacrifice themselves for a greater cause.
"Then tell him, I'd like to go on a date with his maid and queen of his peerage, who's past her wedding age and is keeping her virginity like a trophy."
A tick mark appeared on Grayfia's forehead as she processed my words. "I am not past my wedding age," she murmured to herself.
Yeah, I have to disagree. The reason why she still didn't get married was likely due to interference with the plot. Otherwise, who wouldn't want to marry her? She is top wife material after all.
Grayfia's stern expression returned. "Alexander-sama, your comments are inappropriate and unnecessary. This is a serious matter with significant consequences."
"I get it," I said, raising my hands in mock surrender. "But you have to admit, the situation is a bit absurd. Besides, if Sirzechs promised anything within his power, then he must have anticipated I might ask for something unexpected."
"Nevertheless, I urge you to reconsider your request," Grayfia replied, her tone firm. "Focus on the task at hand and on supporting Rias."
"I will," I assured her. "But let's be real, Grayfia. You're an amazing person, and if there's been interference keeping you from happiness, then it's only right that someone steps in to make things right."
Grayfia's eyes softened just a fraction. "Alexander-sama, your concern is noted. But the priority now is ensuring Rias's success in the Rating Game. Your personal feelings must take a backseat to the greater good."
"I understand," I said. "I'll support Rias and her peerage without drawing too much attention. But after all this, I will hold Sirzechs to his promise."
"Very well," Grayfia said, inclining her head slightly. "For now, focus on training Rias and her team. Help them reach their potential without overshadowing them."
With that, Grayfia bowed slightly and left me.
After Grayfia leaving, I opened my system and looked at Grayfia Meter.
[Grayfia Lucifuge, The Strongest of Queen]
Potential Husband: 26%
Now that's a improvement.
Now for the main subject, Training Rias and her peerage would be a challenge, but it was one I was ready to take on. Their potential was immense, but it needed to be fully realized for them to stand a chance against Riser.
"Alright," I muttered to myself. "Time to come up with a plan."
First, I needed to assess each member's strengths and weaknesses. I already had a good idea from watching their previous battles and with canon knowledge, but I needed a more detailed understanding.
