Overlord: Ancient one

Chapter 111: Chapter 104: Good Man

[Arthur's Pov]

After my light 'exercise' with both Aurora and Albedo, I stepped outside the principal's office, feeling a mixture of satisfaction and weariness. Sona was waiting for me, her expression a blend of curiosity and impatience.

"Took you long enough. What were you doing till now?" Sona asked, adjusting her glasses with a gaze.

"Principal Albedo was really curious about me," I said, keeping my tone was casual.

Sona raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. "Weird. She's not actually the type for long conversations. In the last five years, you are the only student who has talked to her for more than two minutes."

I shrugged, offering a nonchalant smile. "What can I say? I must have made a strong first impression."

Then I continue "Guess I'm just special," I replied lightly, trying to downplay the situation.

Sona studied me for a moment, her analytical mind clearly at work. "Well, considering your unique transfer circumstances, I suppose that makes sense. Still, it's unusual."

I shrugged, maintaining my casual demeanor. "Maybe she just wanted to make sure I was settling in okay."

Sona nodded slowly, though she still seemed a bit skeptical. "Perhaps. Just be aware that the principal doesn't usually take a personal interest in students. It's best to stay on her good side."

Oh, I am always on her 'good sides'.

"Noted," I said, giving her a reassuring smile. "I'll keep that in mind."

"Anyway, you are in class 3-B," Sona continued, her professional demeanor returning. "Let's head there now. Your homeroom teacher is Mrs. Esdeath. She's strict but fair, so try to be on time."

"You must be thinking what kind of name Esdeath is," she added with a slight smile. "In fact, I thought the same when I first heard it. But you should be careful; she once broke the nose of a teacher who made fun of her name."

Someone made fun of Esdeath's name? He's truly lucky to see the next day, I thought to myself. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if the guy who mocked Esdeath ended up in Demiurge's farm.

As we approached the classroom, Sona's expression turned more serious. "Mrs. Esdeath demands respect and discipline from her students. As long as you follow the rules and show her the respect she deserves, you'll be fine."

My only wish is that Esdeath keeps the respect and discipline between student and teacher and won't do any 'extracurricular' activities like what Albedo and Aurora did. And then there's also Rory.

Esdeath and Rory were both my wives—Esdeath acting as a teacher and Rory as a student. The situation was complicated, to say the least.

We arrived at the door of class 3-B, and Sona knocked before opening it. The room fell silent as we entered, and all eyes turned toward us. "Good morning, Mrs. Esdeath. This is Arthur, our new transfer student."

Esdeath stood at the front of the classroom, her icy blue eyes scanning me with a piercing gaze. She exuded an air of authority that commanded immediate respect.

She wore a black top and a white skirt with black lace stockings. She was hella sexy. Why wasn't she wearing that when we were back in Nazarick?

"Welcome, Arthur," she said, her voice cool and commanding. "I was expecting you. Principal Albedo did tell me that a 'special' someone was going to join my class."

I maintained my composure, despite the sudden and intimate familiarity of her words. "Thank you, Mrs. Esdeath. I look forward to being in your class," I replied, keeping my tone respectful.

Esdeath's eyes held mine for a moment longer, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Why don't you come in and introduce yourself to the class, Arthur?"

I nodded and stepped further into the room, facing the curious and expectant gazes of my new classmates.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Arthur Pendragon. I'm a transfer student, and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you."

"Good Lord, another handsome boy. I was hoping for a girl with nice jugs," said a boy with average height with short spiky brown hair, with two short locks of hair behind his head, and light brown eyes, his tone was disappointed.

But nobody laughed at his joke. In fact, most of the girls looked at him with a frown.

Esdeath's eyes narrowed at the boy, her icy gaze silencing the room almost instantly. "Issei Hyoudou, if you have nothing productive to add, I suggest you keep your comments to yourself," she said, her voice sharp.

"Sorry," Issei apologized, looking sheepish.

Well, at least he apologized, I thought. But judging by Esdeath's expression, it was clear that Issei had just narrowly avoided a much harsher reprimand. She was looking at him like a dead man walking.

Esdeath's gaze shifted back to me, her expression softening slightly. "Arthur, you may take your seat. Let's continue with our lesson."

I nodded and made my way to the designated seat near the window, the protagonist seat.

As I settled in, I glanced around, taking in the faces of my classmates. Some looked friendly, others indifferent, but all seemed intrigued by my presence.

Esdeath resumed her lesson with characteristic efficiency, her sharp voice cutting through any lingering chatter.

I focused on her every word, determined to make a good impression and avoid any unnecessary attention.

I am good, kind man, who doesn't hurt even a fly after all.
