Chapter 389: Slaying the Black Snake, Primordial Gourd
Bang!
A loud explosion echoed as scales shattered, and the Black Snake let out a piercing, sorrowful wail. A deep gash appeared on its body, blood pouring out in torrents.
How terrifying!
It was filled with dread, completely disregarding the injuries it had sustained. With a furious roar, it gathered the power of darkness, forming a massive black orb of dark energy. The orb surged toward John with a howling force.
It aimed to destroy the World-in-Hand and escape from this place.
"Hmph, do you think you can destroy my World-in-Hand?" John sneered, his expression full of disdain.
This creature's attack was nowhere near strong enough to cause the same level of damage to World-in-Hand as John's strike with the Immortals' giant sword. The aftermath of that attack alone had caused more harm than this dark orb ever could.
"Fool! Explode!" The Black Snake, confident in its own power, roared with fury. It unleashed the full force of the Dark Orb.
Boom!
A violent roar shook the World-in-Hand, and a small black hole appeared. The space itself cracked open, and the chaotic, devouring force of the black hole began to consume everything around it.
However, John remained completely unperturbed. The United Sword appeared in his hand.
"Creation and Destruction!" he shouted, his voice cold as ice. The United Sword slashed through the air, and a terrifying beam of sword light streaked out, carrying with it the power to destroy everything. But instead of destroying the world, it began to repair the broken space.
Even the Immortals' giant sword could perform Creation and Destruction, though the cost was immense.
"It's impossible!" The Black Snake stood frozen, its eyes wide with disbelief.
It had seen John use this move to destroy its World-in-Hand before, but now, this sword beam was actually repairing the shattered space.
It had never seen such a bizarre skill before.
Whum!
The air hummed as the sword beam passed through. The broken space was swiftly restored, becoming even more stable than before.
Even the small black hole was obliterated.
"Die!" John's voice was icy as he coldly declared the fate of the Black Snake.
Whoosh!
The giant sword swung once more, the wind howling around it as it slashed down toward the Black Snake's previously inflicted wound.
Splurt!
Blood splattered everywhere, and a heart-wrenching scream echoed through the space. Half of the snake's tail was severed in an instant.
It had already been gravely injured, and this blow had nearly taken its life.
The sky was filled with black blood, which splattered onto the ground, sizzling as it touched the surface. The small amounts of vitality that had just been restored in the World-in-Hand withered away in an instant.
The Black Snake's blood was also highly poisonous!
"Human, even if I die, I will destroy your World-in-Hand!" it howled in furious anguish. Its broken body writhed, with black blood spraying out everywhere.
"Bastard, how dare you!" John's expression shifted slightly. He realized that even the roots of The Tree of Life recoiled from the black blood, retreating rapidly. Find adventures at empire
The Black Snake's blood was strange and sinister, so much so that even The Tree of Life couldn't neutralize it.
"Die!" With a furious shout, John swung the giant sword, driving it forcefully toward the Black Snake's vital spot, right under its head.
Pchhh!
The black, tough scales shattered as the giant sword pierced deep into its body.
The Black Snake's eyes widened in shock, its body writhing slightly before it fell still, lifeless.
However, the two segments of its snake body continued to twitch and struggle, black blood pouring out unstoppably.
[You have slain the Eight-Star Magical Beast Black Snake. Plunder Talent Activated.]
[All four basic attributes +10000, Magic Critical Hit +10, Poison Resistance +10, Space Law Insight +1%]
John felt a surge of joy. "It even increases Space Law insight by 1%," he thought, guessing that this was related to the Black Snake's World-in-Hand ability.
He canceled his Heaven and Earth Transformation state and, without pausing to examine the loot on the Black Snake's body, he sent the two severed segments of its snake body out of the World-in-Hand with a thought.
Boom!
The two halves of the snake fell into the swamp below, splashing into the already murky waters. The swamp was instantly dyed black with blood, and the air was filled with the stench of blood. The swamp churned violently, and a few corpses of Two-headed Black Dragons and Swamp Giant Crocodiles floated to the surface.
It seemed that other magical beasts had been hiding here.
"Master really killed the Black Snake?" Xayah swallowed nervously, her eyes wide with disbelief.
However, Sini and the others were not surprised.
At this point, John, holding Spoorate's hand, floated above the World-in-Hand, having exited the realm.
The Black Snake was dead, but the two snake halves continued to twitch, causing the swamp within a radius of several thousand miles to become utterly muddled, now shrouded in pitch-black darkness.
"Big brother, can we eat the snake meat?" Spoorate suddenly asked.
John was momentarily stunned. Looking down at the swamp, tainted with black blood and heavy with the scent of death, he said, "Do you think you can eat that?"
Spoorate furrowed her brows, disappointed. "It seems it's really not edible."
After a long moment, the two halves of the Black Snake's body grew still, no longer struggling, though black blood still seeped from the wound.
John made a face of disgust and waved at Avis, "Take out the magic core and see if there's a Primordial Gourd."
"Understood!" Avis replied excitedly.
He dove toward the water's surface, his dragon claws grabbing hold of the lower half of the snake's body.
Rip!
The snake's body was torn apart. With the Black Snake's death, its scales fell off, its defenses significantly weakened, and they no longer offered any resistance to Avis's attacks.
The flesh scattered across the ground, but there was no magic core to be found.
Avis, looking displeased, discarded the lower half of the snake's body and turned to the other segment.
Bang!
The scales on the Black Snake's head remained tough, and it took considerable effort for Avis to break through them. From the head, he extracted a jet-black magic core.
Next, he rummaged through the murky, dark swamp waters, his massive dragon claws emerging with a few items.
A purple gourd, a Heart of the Continent, and a black jade stone.
Shaking off the dirty blood on his body, Avis quickly flew to John's side.
"Master, can I have these items? I feel like they'll greatly enhance my strength," he asked, handing John the purple gourd and other items, while holding the Black Snake's magic core in his hand, eagerly awaiting his answer.
The Eight-Star magic core was quite valuable, and the Black Snake, being an Eight-Star peak magical beast, was just as powerful as a Nine-Star being. The magic core it contained was even purer and stronger.
John, however, wasn't concerned about it at all. He simply said, "It's yours."
"Thank you, Master!" Avis exclaimed joyfully, immediately swallowing the magic core, beginning the slow process of refining and absorbing its power.
John turned his attention to the other items in his hand.
[Primordial Gourd: A powerful treasure born from Chaos Force, containing an independent space. Those who possess the Chaos Force and are The Overseers can refine it to reinforce World-in-Hand.]
"Born from Chaos Force?" John stared at the gourd in his hand, astonished. He could clearly sense the immense Chaos Force within the Primordial Gourd.
He had some control over Chaos Force, though not a great deal, but it was enough to refine the Primordial Gourd. This treasure seemed tailor-made for him.
Moreover, the Primordial Gourd could also strengthen his World-in-Hand.
"It really is a treasure." He wasn't in a rush to refine it. He casually placed it into the World-in-Hand and turned his attention to the black jade stone, his eyes lighting up.
[Dark Heart of Elements: Can be refined when comprehension of the laws of dark elements reaches 100%. Upon refining, it will transform into the Body of Dark Elements.]
As expected, the powerful creatures of this world dropped the Heart of Elements!
His comprehension of the laws of dark elements had already reached 100%, allowing him to refine the Dark Heart of Elements and transform it into the Body of Dark Elements.
More importantly, he still had a Black Magic Crystal in his possession, which contained the powerful Dark Heaven laws. It could only be refined and absorbed if he had the Body of Dark Elements.
He was eager to discover what kind of power the Dark Heaven laws really were.
"Spoorate, let's go back." John glanced at the little girl, who was still staring blankly at the Black Snake's corpse. He called out, gently holding her hand as they both landed on Avis's back.
"Big Brother, is the meat of this big black dragon good?" The little girl stared at Avis and suddenly asked.
Whoosh!
Avis flinched, nearly falling from the air. He hurriedly replied, "Not good at all, my meat is stinky."
He quickly spoke up, unsure why, despite Spoorate's clearly weak cultivation, he felt a dangerous aura emanating from her.
John was speechless. He had no idea why the little girl suddenly took an interest in dragon meat. He answered, "The meat of those Two-headed Black Dragons should be edible."
"No." Spoorate immediately refused without hesitation. "Those guys are too weak."
As she spoke, she didn't forget to pat the hard scales on Avis's back.
Avis felt a chill run down his spine and quickly sped up, soaring toward the sailboat.
"Little girl, get off my back." He spoke up immediately, fearing that Spoorate might bite him.
"Tch, so stingy. How much meat would I get from one bite of your big frame? It wouldn't even be fatal." Spoorate looked displeased.
Avis wobbled and promptly shook her off. A strong gust of wind howled as he shot into the air, flying as far away from her as possible.
"John, did you get the Primordial Gourd?" Sini walked over and asked.
John nodded. A thought passed through his mind, and the purple gourd appeared in his hand.
Xayah's eyes lit up, then dimmed again.
She really wanted to take this Primordial Gourd as a reward, but she knew how powerful and rare it was. It would also be of great help to John.
"I'm going into World-in-Hand to enter closed-door cultivation. You all be careful." John noticed the change in Xayah's expression but didn't pay it much attention. He gave a few words of caution and decided to go into seclusion to refine the Heart of Elements and the Primordial Gourd.
"Master, take me with you." Avis landed on the deck and immediately spoke up.
It seemed that Spoorate had truly frightened him.
John didn't refuse. A thought passed through his mind, and he took Avis into World-in-Hand.
"So stingy." Spoorate grumbled unhappily.
She then turned her gaze toward Xayah and asked, "Mature sister, are there any strong black snakes in this swamp? Preferably black dragons."
Xayah looked confused and shook her head. "There should be, but I'm not very familiar with this place."
Her cultivation was weak, and she didn't dare venture deep into the Dead Swamp. The information about the Black Snake came from her father.
Sini looked puzzled and asked, "Little girl, why are you looking for black dragons?"
Spoorate tilted her small head seriously and replied, "I feel that powerful dragon-type magical beasts can enhance my strength."
"Dragon-type magical beasts? Is that for real?" This was the first time Sini had heard of such a cultivation method.
The other girls also looked equally confused.
