Chapter 353: The Willow Family, Unknown Number, and the Establishment of the Global Federation

As expected, Sky James finally agreed to the collaboration. The generous reward promised by Luca left him with no reason to refuse.

Moreover, Sky James had already put all his chips on the table, leaving no way back. He sighed and said, "I'll find a way to get you into Dragon Gate Mountain, but if things go wrong, I hope you'll have some conscience and not drag me into it. I don't want to be your accomplice."

Luca chuckled and said, "Don't worry, I can handle my own business. I've got enough responsibility for this."

Upon hearing this, Sky James' expression softened slightly.

With his goal achieved, Luca had no reason to stay any longer. He extinguished his cigar and stood up, preparing to leave.

Just then, Sky James suddenly remembered something and called out to him. "Wait, I just remembered I still haven't told you something."

Luca paused and glanced over at him, listening as Sky James continued, "You killed Zahilter and Zadownlow before. They've gathered their family to prepare for revenge."

"To relieve some pressure from above, Glennmountain even specially invited people from the Mingwhel Family. You should be careful recently."

Luca's gaze narrowed slightly. "Don't worry about them. The Willow Family is nothing to worry about. If they dare come after me, I'll make sure they don't return."

With that, he turned and left, not taking it seriously.

"The Willow Family..." Sky James remained seated on the couch, staring at the half-burned cigar in his hand.

His expression was complicated.

This guy really is as arrogant as ever.

...

The night was dark, with stars scattered across the sky.

By the time Luca stepped out of the villa, it was already 8 PM.

He got into the car and took out his phone.

There were two missed calls, both made while he was in the villa.

One was from Drumph, and the other was from an unknown number.

Luca's gaze lingered on the unknown number for a moment before he decided to call Drumph back first.

The call was answered quickly.

After a brief exchange, Luca learned that Drumph had called to inform him about the ceremony tomorrow.

The establishment of the Global Federation was a significant event. Not only had wealthy elites and dignitaries from Summer Country come to attend, but even diplomats from other nations had been sent to offer their congratulations. Luca was among the first group of people to be awarded honors, so he couldn't afford to be careless.

He reassured Drumph that he would be there in advance.

After the call ended, Luca dialed the unknown number.

The glow from the screen illuminated his face in the dark.

The phone rang for quite a while before it was finally picked up.

The other side said nothing.

However, Luca could hear faint breathing on the other end.

He frowned and immediately hung up.

He had too many things to do and no time to waste on some mystery caller.

Less than two minutes later, the phone rang again.

Luca hung up once more.

After a moment of silence, the phone rang again.

This time, he answered.

A hoarse voice came through the phone.

"Dragon Gate Mountain is not a place you should be going. If you don't want to lose your life, I suggest you stay in line," the voice warned immediately.

Luca's eyes flickered. He had only just planned to head to Dragon Gate Mountain, and yet the other party had already received word. If Sky James wasn't involved in this somehow, then things were starting to get interesting.

He directly asked, "Who are you?"

The person on the other end clearly didn't want to reveal their identity.

Calmly, the voice replied, "You don't need to know who I am, you only need to understand that the matters in the Imperial Capital are not something you can interfere with. If you don't know your place, I'm sure the consequences won't take long to show."

This was an outright threat.

Luca sneered. "Is that so? Well, I appreciate your concern, but I'm a bit of an odd person. The more you don't want me to go, the more I'll make my way to Dragon Gate Mountain. I'm curious to see what kind of 'consequences' you're planning to make me pay."

The person on the other end snorted coldly. "You're courting death. If you really want to die, don't blame us for not playing by the rules."

With that, the phone line went silent, and the call ended.

Luca glanced at the phone, the call already disconnected.

He frowned.

Had this person called just to threaten him a couple of times?

Unfortunately, the person hadn't revealed much in their words.

He couldn't deduce their exact identity.

However, Luca had some suspicions.

It was highly likely that this person had some connection to Zenith. Otherwise, they wouldn't have specifically called him.

It seemed that either Sky James or someone from his side had let something slip, allowing the other party to learn about his plans.

Luca didn't take it seriously. Whether it was for Sophia's resurrection or to investigate Zenith Technology Company, he had to go to Dragon Gate Mountain. This was his only chance to find any leads on Zenith Technology Company, and there was no way he would give up because of a couple of threats.

Luca then drove back to Haven River Hotel. By the time he arrived, Donald and the others had already gone to bed. He quietly closed the door behind him without making a sound.

When he opened the room, he noticed a bulge in the bed. Susie's pale arm was sticking out, her long hair scattered across the pillow, and her face was covered by the blanket.

As Luca turned on the light, she was startled awake. She stirred and slowly opened her eyes, muttering, "I thought you weren't coming back tonight..."

Luca placed his coat on the nearby hanger and said, "I came back once I was done with things. By the way, why aren't you sleeping in your own room?"

Susie turned her head slightly. "What's wrong with me sleeping in your room? You don't want me here?"

Since their affair had become known, Susie had grown bolder, and now she didn't even bother hiding it. She openly slept in Luca's room without any pretense.

Though Darabont and the others were somewhat helpless, they didn't stop them. While it was a bit early for the two of them to be living together, Luca's maturity and capabilities had eased their concerns. After all, the essence of parents' opposition to young love lay in their worry about immaturity and irresponsibility. So, aside from a few necessary reminders, they hadn't interfered much in the young couple's relationship.

"Just as long as you're happy, go to bed early." Luca, understanding the situation, didn't argue with Susie on the matter. He walked to the side of the bed and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead. It was foolish to reason with women, but even more so to reason with your own woman. After all, no one wants to spend a lifetime with a rigid, boring, lifeless soul—unless, of course, that person is very rich.

...

The next day, just as the sky was beginning to lighten, Luca and the others left the Haven River Hotel early.

The streets were crowded with people, bustling with activity. Many ordinary citizens and social elites were dressed formally, making it impossible for vehicles to navigate through the crowd.

On both sides of the streets, golden flags had been hung up at some point. Upon closer inspection, the flags displayed a starry pattern, with the national emblems of the four seasons—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter—surrounding Earth at the center, forming a unique symbol. This represented the soon-to-be-established Global Human Federation.

From a distance, the golden flags formed a straight line, like a golden avenue leading directly to the central square not far away.

Drumph and his group were already waiting outside. After exchanging a few words with them, Luca and the others were about to head toward the central square when they saw Zovland and his group pass by.

"Hope you don't embarrass us Morning Star people when you get on stage," Zovland said with a sarcastic tone, and several members of the Eastern Territory Morning Star group threw them disdainful glances.

Quagmire immediately clenched his fist, stepping forward with the intent to teach these arrogant individuals a lesson. Luckily, Luca grabbed his arm and stopped him.

"Don't cause trouble," Luca said, shaking his head. He nodded toward the group of guards standing by the roadside and added, "Today is a special day. We'll deal with them later after the ceremony."

Drumph also tried to calm the situation. "Don't worry. I've already reported what happened in the Eastern Territory. Once the ceremony here is over, the higher-ups will give you an explanation."

"Guess they're lucky," Quagmire said, forcing down his anger. Not far off, Zovland's eyes flashed with a hint of disappointment.

If the people from the Northern Territory had dared to make a move against them here, he would have had a hundred ways to make sure they never got back on their feet. Unfortunately, they hadn't taken the bait.

Time was running short, and the group didn't waste any more time there. After leaving the hotel, they followed the dedicated route toward the central square.

The closer they got to the city center, the more people they encountered. By the time they reached the final stretch, the crowds were so dense that it was nearly impossible to move. Luckily, Yugoscav had already arranged a dedicated path for them, or they probably wouldn't have been able to even get in. However, due to the limited time, the ceremony was somewhat hastily organized. Neither the ceremonial procession nor the stage was as grand or elaborate as in the past. Luca and the others hadn't even had a rehearsal; Yugoscav had only briefly briefed them on the process ahead.

It was worth noting that the number of people attending the ceremony was overwhelmingly large. If viewed from the sky, one could see that people were packed everywhere—on the streets, in alleys, on rooftops, even on utility poles.

They gathered in all sorts of unexpected places, their expressions a mix of excitement, fatigue, weariness, and sorrow, but all of them focused on the high platform at the city center, their gazes shining with a unified light.

The establishment of the Global Federation was like a beam of light in the darkness for them, faint yet representing hope.

Today was destined to be a historic moment.

Luca and the others continued on without stopping, following Yugoscav to the back of the stage, where they could see many people already waiting. Among them were high-ranking government officials, military bigwigs, business magnates, top scientists, and other elite members of society. Members of Morning Star from all four regions—East, South, West, and North—were also present, with Zovland and his group among them.

As soon as they arrived, everyone turned their gaze toward them, especially lingering on Luca. The young prodigy from the Eastern Territory was already well-known to them, and many were curious to see him in person.

Luca didn't pay much attention to their stares and sat down with the rest. Drumph, however, took a seat at the front, where many of the bigwigs greeted him first, showcasing his impressive social skills and influence.

Luca couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration. Despite Drumph's eccentricities, his connections were undeniably vast. He made a mental note that once they had some time, he'd have to take advantage of Drumph's resources and connections—after all, it would be a waste not to.

While Drumph had been cheerfully chatting with the various bigwigs, he noticed Luca's gaze. His smile faltered, and a sense of unease crept over him.

Why did this kid look at him like that?
