Chapter 60 - Demon Cultivator, Not a Demon
Chapter 60: Demon Cultivator, Not a Demon
Gu Liuyun furrowed his brows. Though he knew Fan Banruo didn’t understand the meaning behind the words, his gaze couldn’t help but be drawn to her enticing red lips.
Perhaps due to the intense gaze, Fan Banruo touched her face and curiously asked, “What’s wrong? Is there something on my face?”
Gu Liuyun quickly shook his head and asked, “Since Senior Sister can play the flute, are you also knowledgeable in techniques of mental attack?”
Fan Banruo nodded and replied, “I have some knowledge. Would you like to see it?”
Gu Liuyun clapped his hands lightly and said, “Very well, then I’ll watch Senior Sister’s skills.”
With a light smile, Fan Banruo led Gu Liuyun to a high peak. She then gracefully took out a flawless jade flute. She touched her red lips lightly, and the musical sound of the flute began to fill the air. Unlike the fierce roars from the lion’s side, Fan Banruo’s flute produced a soft and enchanting melody, like the gentle scent of sandalwood drifting from an incense burner.
As Gu Liuyun listened, he found himself getting entranced by the music. However, there was an explosion of demonic energy from a nearby valley at that moment. A figure emerged, and it was none other than the hidden demon cultivator, Qiu San!
Qiu San’s condition did not seem good at all. His body was surrounded by demonic energy, and his spiritual power was in disarray. His eyes were bloodshot, clearly affected by the flute music.
“Annoying… a technique to attack the mind… Do you all want to kill me too?” Qiu San angrily exclaimed.
Gu Liuyun immediately chanted an incantation, invoking the “Divine Thunder Locking Sky Formation,” causing a thundercloud to converge above Qiu San. Lightning struck, burying him in a barrage of electricity.
The supernatural power ended five seconds later, and Gu Liuyun’s pupils suddenly contracted. To his surprise, Qiu San was unharmed, surrounded by raging flames.
Qiu San laughed and, engulfed in flames, launched a massive fire attack towards Gu Liuyun.
Gu Liuyun didn’t have time to evade and used his sword technique to avoid the attack. However, as he was about to be hit, Fan Banruo suddenly appeared in front of him. Seeing the formidable woman, Qiu San felt an inexplicable fear. His speed had increased significantly, and he aimed to finish them in one go.
But Fan Banruo, noticing his ferocious demeanor, raised her hand and chanted, “Dharma King Kong Venerable!” A colossal phantom of a Buddhist Vajra materialized in front of them, emanating a radiant aura.
Then, there was a resounding boom, and the King Kong phantom had completely blocked Qiu San’s charge.
“Damn it, it’s actually a Buddhist!” Qiu San cursed, not expecting the woman to be a Buddhist cultivator.
He glanced around at the scattered demonic flames due to the collision, then turned and fled without saying a word.
Gu Liuyun and Fan Banruo were surprised by how easily he ran away.
“Sect Brother, stop him!” Fan Banruo immediately urged. She formed a Buddha seal with her hands and began chanting scriptures. Due to teaming up with Fan Banruo, Gu Liuyun had been in battle mode and had five sword shadows at his disposal.
Hearing Fan Banruo’s command, he quickly formed a sword seal and unleashed the Tai Pan Sutian Sword.
Bang, bang, bang!
Five giant golden spiritual swords consecutively struck in front of Qiu San, blocking his escape route completely.
Qiu San scowled and said, “You little flea, you’re asking for death.”
Despite his fierce words, he didn’t slow down. He maneuvered around the golden spiritual swords, continuing his escape. Gu Liuyun didn’t stop him this time because he noticed Fan Banruo making her move.
Fan Banruo had just finished reciting the scriptures, and she raised one of her bare hands towards the sky, issuing a soft command, “Supernatural powers, may Buddha’s light shine!”
The next moment, the heavens and earth were filled with a resounding chant as an endless shower of Buddha’s light descended. Qiu San felt the intense light in the sky, but as he looked up, he saw the relentless Buddha’s light falling upon him. He roared angrily and became even more violent, intending to break free from the range of the Buddha’s light by force.
Fan Banruo observed this with a light sigh, seemingly disdainful. As Qiu San collided with the Buddha’s light, the demonic energy surrounding him dissipated rapidly, like snow melting in the sun.
“Ugh! Ahh!”
Endless screams resounded, making their ears ring. After a while, the Buddha’s light dispersed, and a severely charred Qiu San fell onto a mountain peak. Seeing Qiu San lying motionless in the chaotic aftermath, Gu Liuyun and Fan Banruo exchanged glances and flew down to inspect him.
Qiu San looked pitiful. The Buddha’s light had burned his entire body, and his demonic energy had been purified, destroying his cultivation.
Gu Liuyun smiled faintly and turned to Fan Banruo, saying, “The mission is complete. Senior Sister, you’ve worked hard.”
Fan Banruo shook her head and replied, “There’s no need for thanks. Thank you, Junior Brother, for allowing me to encounter a demonic cultivator and resolve a problem that has troubled me for a long time.”
Hearing her response, Gu Liuyun couldn’t help but feel curious and asked, “What was the issue that Senior Sister mentioned?”
Fan Banruo smiled gently and said, “Demonic cultivators are not inherently evil.”
Gu Liuyun’s expression drastically changed at this moment, and he felt a chill running through his body, not because of Fan Banruo’s words, but because when she spoke them, her once-clear eyes suddenly turned pitch black, like an endless abyss.
