Chapter 26 - Senior Sister Takes Action, Slaying the Evil Serpent
Chapter 26: Senior Sister Takes Action, Slaying the Evil Serpent
Although the key clue to the sword cultivator’s inheritance at Tiger’s Roaring Cliff had been confirmed, Gu Liuyun didn’t rush to go there. Just now, the two female disciples mentioned that the water dragons at that location had reached the Divine Palace level, making it challenging for ordinary people to handle.
Gu Liuyun decided to seek out the master. If she acted, dealing with mere Divine Palace creatures would be trivial. Upon arriving at the hall, she saw Tianluan reclining on the palace throne, her black hair casually scattered over her shoulders, and her slender legs gracefully placed to the side. Below in the hall was Murong Qianxue, dressed in a simple white gown, her cold and exquisitely beautiful face.
Gu Liuyun respectfully greeted them, saying, “Greetings, Master, and Senior Sister.”
Tianluan, with a high favorability score of 200, had a deep affection for Gu Liuyun. She waved her hand lightly and said, “Enough, it’s only Qianxue here, no need for formalities.”
Murong Qianxue also smiled gently, concurring with Tianluan’s words.
Seeing their relaxed attitude, Gu Liuyun smiled and said, “Then, I’ll follow Master’s lead.”
Tianluan nodded satisfactorily and asked, “These past few days, you’ve been wandering around the Taoist Palace. Have you come across anything interesting?”
Gu Liuyun pondered for a moment and then shared the encounter with Nangong Qianqian, mentioning the matter of the copybook in the bamboo house. He didn’t feel the need to hide the copybook issue. Sword cultivation was part of the Taoist Palace’s legacy. While it was a secret to players, it didn’t hold the same weight for a figure like Master.
Perhaps the senior Taoist who left the copybook was someone Master knew. As expected, after Gu Liuyun finished speaking, Tianluan didn’t show surprise. Instead, she seemed quite interested in Nangong Qianqian’s story.
“Oh? So Nangong Qianqian also did you a favor and thwarted Nangong Chen’s revenge.”
Gu Liuyun replied, “Indeed, that’s true. So, I agreed to her request. If Master doesn’t mind, would you be willing to take her as your disciple?”
Tianluan’s fair fingers lightly tapped the armrest, producing a “click” sound.
“Her potential is decent, she respects me, and most importantly, she helped you. When she reaches the Divine Palace Realm, bring her to see me.”
Upon hearing this response, Gu Liuyun knew the matter was almost settled.
“Understood, Master.”
Suddenly, Murong Qianxue stepped forward and said, “Master, I want to challenge Nangong Chen.”
Tianluan raised an eyebrow in slight surprise and then looked at Gu Liuyun, smiling, “Look at how your Senior Sister is so protective of you that she’s willing to take revenge for you.”
Gu Liuyun was pleasantly surprised by the concern Nangong Qianxue suddenly expressed, but he said, “Senior Sister, there’s no need for that. Nangong Chen only sent his junior disciples, and I can handle them.”
Tianluan also nodded, saying, ” Gu Liuyun is correct. This is a form of training for him. If Nangong Chen personally intervenes, I won’t spare him.”
Murong Qianxue had no choice but to nod in agreement. She looked at Gu Liuyun and said, “Be cautious in your daily activities, and avoid going to remote areas alone.”
Gu Liuyun smiled and agreed. Tianluan was also quite pleased to see the mutual affection between the senior sisters and the younger brother.
She tapped the armrest and said to Gu Liuyun, “I know what you mentioned about the copybook. It is indeed an inheritance within the Taoist Palace.”
Gu Liuyun was pleasantly surprised and quickly asked Tianluan for more details.
Tianluan pondered momentarily and explained, “The owner of that bamboo house is a Supreme Elder of the Taoist Palace. The inheritance he cultivated is the Path of Sword, created by the third-generation sect leader of the Taoist Palace…”
“Later on, as the path of sword cultivation saw a decline in talents, the Supreme Elder found it hard to find a suitable successor. So, he decided to roam and has not returned since.”
Upon hearing this, Gu Liuyun realized, “So, this inheritance has already been lost within the Taoist Palace. The Supreme Elder must be seeking a disciple who can carry on the way of sword cultivation.”
Tianluan nodded, saying, “That’s right. But from what you’ve described, it seems that the Supreme Elder left the sword cultivation inheritance at Tiger’s Roaring Cliff. You can go and explore it. If you have a genuine talent for sword cultivation, it’s an excellent opportunity.”
Gu Liuyun smiled wryly, saying, “The water dragons at Tiger’s Roaring Cliff have reached the Divine Palace level. I was hoping that Master would assist me.”
Tianluan lazily waved her hand and said, “Just some Divine Palace creatures. It wouldn’t be right for the teacher to intervene. Go and ask your senior sister.”
She was maintaining her high status. Gu Liuyun shrugged in resignation and turned to Murong Qianxue.
Murong Qianxue nodded and said, “If that’s the case, I’ll help my junior brother.”
Gu Liuyun felt a sense of gratitude. Since becoming an apprentice, even though Senior Sister had not shown an increase in favorability, she was undoubtedly looking out for him.
“In that case, thank you, Senior Sister.”
…
Twenty miles north of the Heavenly Hub Peak was a deep gorge with continuously roaring waves and Tiger’s Roaring Cliff.
Despite the name, Tiger’s Roaring Cliff had nothing to do with actual tigers. It was so named because of the terrain. When the wind blew, it produced a roaring sound reminiscent of a fierce tiger, hence the name Tiger’s Roaring Cliff.
Gu Liuyun and Murong Qianxue stood side by side on the cliff, dressed in white. As the mountain wind blew, their long robes fluttered in the roaring gusts.
“The water dragon should be around here. I’ll trouble Senior Sister to take action,” Gu Liuyun said, looking down at the mountain stream below.
Murong Qianxue nodded slightly, stepped forward, and formed a seal with her graceful hand. She then softly uttered, “Five Thunder Rectification Law, descend!”
This was the second time Gu Liuyun had witnessed her using this technique. As she spoke, thunderous energy rapidly gathered around her, and then a brilliant bolt of lightning suddenly appeared in the clear sky, instantly striking the mountain stream.
“Boom!”
Lightning flashed, and the mountain stream exploded. The next moment, the stream’s waters churned violently, and a massive creature measuring several dozen feet in length suddenly burst out of the surface!
Roar!
