Chapter 228: Classic Picture
After sending Shanks flying with a single kick, Kahn didn't press his advantage to show the full force of the "world's strongest creature." Instead, he stood calmly with one hand in his pocket, letting a faint blue aura surround his entire body.
A pebble on the ground, as if defying gravity itself, began to float, covered by a soft, glowing blue light. The stone rose steadily until it hovered in front of Kahn. With a casual motion, he lifted his free hand, touched the stone with his index finger, and flicked it in Shanks' direction.
Instantly, the pebble transformed—now cloaked in a layer of pitch-black Armament Haki with shimmering golden energy flowing along its surface. With the blue aura still around it, the stone had become a "three-colour stone," emanating an overwhelming force.
Under the control of Kahn's telekinesis, which eliminated air resistance, the stone vanished from sight, moving faster than any sniper bullet. Its path was barely visible to the naked eye, but those skilled in Observation Haki could faintly track the deadly arc as it hurtled toward Shanks.
Seeing this, Shanks' expression grew tense. Without hesitation, he enveloped Gryphon in advanced Armament Haki, his eyes flashing as he glimpsed into the future, preparing to deflect the stone with a precise strike.
But then—
"What?!"
A sudden, blinding red light flared in Shanks' eyes as his vision of the future shifted. Forced to stop mid-swing, he hastily dodged to the side, barely evading the projectile.
**Boom—crack!**
Just as Shanks nearly swung his sword, Kahn's fingers twitched, redirecting the three-colour stone. It arced high into the air, only to come crashing down at a speed invisible to the naked eye, aiming straight for Shanks from above.
The precision of the stone's trajectory and Kahn's eerie remote control left even Shanks, with his future sight, struggling to react. Instinctively, Shanks abandoned any attempt to counter and focused on evasion.
When the three-colour stone hit the ground, it detonated with a force that dwarfed even a cannon blast.
But the sound and shockwave were mere echoes of its true power.
The stone's impact unleashed a shockwave that splintered the ground, creating cracks that extended for hundreds of meters. And yet, this was only the **aftermath** of its descent.
From a bird's-eye view, one would see that, within seconds, the stone continued to burrow down, piercing straight through the floating island. In a matter of moments, it broke through the island's bottom, plunging down into the sea below.
The sheer power needed to drill through an island from top to bottom was staggering.
If this devastating force had landed on a person—one could only imagine the obliterating result.
Nobody could have imagined that Shanks, a legendary figure, would be pushed to such a state.
Using the force of the shockwave, he rolled across the ground several times before quickly springing back up, creating distance between himself and Kahn.
**Whoosh!**
But if Shanks was fast, Kahn was faster.
The moment Shanks steadied himself, Kahn appeared at his side, almost as if he'd teleported. His left hand, wrapped in Armament Haki, seized Shanks' right arm in a vice-like grip. In a flash, Kahn raised his right hand—also encased in Haki—and swung it towards Shanks with brutal force.
The punch struck at the precise moment when Shanks was still reeling from the sheer power of Kahn's three-colour stone attack, rendering him unable to use his defensive Haki in time.
This single lapse gave Kahn the opening he needed, turning the tide fully in his favour and marking what could be the downfall of the Red-Haired Pirates.
The reality was brutal: losing an arm had left Shanks with a critical weakness.
Though Shanks had grown stronger over time, tapping into latent potential, the absence of his left arm had made him vulnerable. Without it, he couldn't fully match Kahn's two-handed assaults, leaving him at a disadvantage in direct hand-to-hand combat.
As Kahn's punch barreled towards him, Shanks reflexively tried to unleash Haki to deflect the attack. But Kahn wasn't about to let him off so easily. For every ounce of Haki Shanks summoned, Kahn matched it, nullifying his defences with relentless force.
With Kahn's strength and speed in complete dominance, Shanks couldn't even use his legs to deflect the incoming punch, leaving him no choice but to brace himself with all the Haki he could muster.
But it was all for naught…
Kahn's fist crashed directly into Shanks' chest, unleashing a shockwave of devastating power that burst from his back like a jet stream. The advanced Armament Haki—using the technique of *internal destruction*—pierced through Shanks' defences.
**Boom!**
"Urgh!"
Blood sprayed from Shanks' mouth as the shockwave tore through his chest. The impact left him gasping, his breath reduced to a faint whisper, his life force flickering under the watchful perception of Kahn's Observation Haki.
Seeing Shanks' battered state, Kahn moved to finish him off, lifting his fist once more to deliver the final blow.
Suddenly—
"Let go of the boss!!"
A voice rang out from the other side of the battlefield, growing louder as an afterimage hurtled towards them. Cloaked in formidable Haki, the figure launched itself desperately at Kahn, closing the distance at incredible speed.
For most, such a ferocious assault would be a cause for evasion or defense. But Kahn, undaunted, simply raised his foot to meet it.
The forceful afterimage, which seemed powerful enough to shatter a mountain, came to an abrupt halt against Kahn's raised leg, stopping instantly.
It was a sight to behold—a moment reminiscent of Whitebeard himself, halting a massive ship with a single hand.
