Chapter 3: Into Danger

After admiring it for who knows how long, he hurriedly stored it in the inventory after hearing someone approaching the door near him.

He looked towards to door looking at who was approaching him and he saw that it was in fact his father Don Chinjao, who was rushing into the room with a worried expression that he had never seen on his face before.

Before he could even make a sound, he was hurriedly picked up by the man and carried out the room at breakneck speed.

"I'm sorry little Hana but you're going to have to hold on to me, were going to a happy place!"

POV CHANGE

While running with Kurihana in his hands, Don Chinjao was looking around seemingly on edge when all of a sudden a cannonball went hurling through the air and almost struck Kurihana if it weren't for him blocking it with his drill like head.

'Damn bastards almost hit my precious little Hana!'

His face took on a face of anger as he thought about what could of happened if he wasn't fast enough to react to the speeding cannonballs.

As he jumped onto the rooftop of his compound, leaping from roof to roof. He saw the sails of far away Marine Naval Ships firing cannon balls at their general location.

He quickly got rid of anger as he focused on getting himself and his precious bundle of joy off the island and into safety.

He soon saw the ship he prepared for emergency evacuations, mainly for situations like this one. Normally he would clash with the Navy on almost all occasions and 90% of the time come out on top, but he couldn't risk anything happening to his most valuable treasure.

As they approached the ship he noticed the Warship leading the charge was one he recognized very vividly.

He recognized it as property of the marine he hated the most, his rival 'Garp the Fist' otherwise known as the 'Hero of the Marines'.

His ship's crow nests are shaped like a dog house and the figurehead is shaped like a dog head, which has a bone in its mouth. The overall vessel has a dog theme, similar to Garp's dog mask which he wears frequently.

When he noticed that the raid on his island became much more dangerous, the only place he could think of that would be safe enough to protect him and his treasure was the Jewel Ice sheet, the place where he stored the treasure his family had acquired for centuries.

The ice was impenetrable with the only key to opening it being his uniquely shaped head which was able to pierce the ice.

After wrapping his plan up he quickly sped up and crash landed on the pirate ship, quickly spitting out commands to his loyal soldiers to raise the anchor and speed towards their treasure island.

The marines were hot on their tail not leaving any room for mistake as they constantly shot cannonballs at their ship, barely missing.

One mistake and his future could be destroyed in an instant by that loathsome fool Garp, why did he have to come here of all days.

He was about to move Kurihana to a secret hideout to raise him till he was competent to fend for himself, so he could begin pirating at a young age.

Once he was strong enough he would smoothly pass on the Don title to him and retire with all the riches his family had gathered for centuries before.

He couldn't help but be worried of how they would escape the perilous trap the Marines stuck him in.

Hours passed as he held Kurihana with all the love he could manage, protecting him from stray cannonballs and making sure he wasn't cold as they neared the frozen continent where their treasure was stored.

Even in the midst of such danger, Don Chinjao had the time to put on a warm coat and pants on Kurihana while doting on him.

As the ship neared the island, Don Chinjao gave a short and sweet speech to his crew.

"I know that these bastards sneak attacked us, but they still are completely outmatched, get out there and destroy them. Make sure they can't hurt my bundle of joy, the second we get close enough to jump on land, turn the ship 180 degrees and ram the marine ships as we all leave."

As he finished his short but passionate speech, he leaped off the boat as his soldiers did as he said and turned the ship around as they all jumped off. Leading to the pirate ship crashing into 3 different warships, sinking one and damaging 2 others.

While the marines were distracted he sped off into the distance quickly reaching the place where his families riches were held.

As he peered inside, he couldn't help the pride bubbling inside of him as he saw enough treasure to make anything other than a Celestial Dragons vault look poor.

He snapped out of his trance and put Kurihana on the ice behind him before he used his drill head to crack the ice open.

He coated his head in Armament Haki and jumped high in the air, before landing head first directly destroying the ground below him and causing a long area of ice to crack in a random direction for miles and miles.

After the ice cracked large enough for him and Kurihana to get inside, he signaled for his soldiers to retreat from the skirmish on the coast with a quick and weak burst of Conquerors Haki.

He didn't bother to wait on the surface and quickly jumped down, as he waited for the others to get in, he saw as the ice slowly regenerated itself and froze over.

It would be a bit before it fully healed but it wouldn't be long before normal sized people couldn't get inside, so his soldiers had to hurry.

It wasn't long before he heard the pitter patter of footsteps as multiple pairs of his soldiers arrived, most of them were able to jump into the hole, but a few were left behind as they were shot by the Marines closely behind them.

Luckily as soon as the Marines arrived the ice had regenerated to its full strength and was distorting the vision of the marines as they couldn't clearly see the people inside of the cavern, only shadows that were heaving on the ground to recover their breath.

POV CHANGE

Garp, who was on the surface was using his Observation Haki to see what was happening under the sheet of ice and was surprised to see that much treasure inside.

But what surprised him more was the bundle of joy that was cuddling in his fathers arms.

It was not known that Don Chinjao had any children and knowing that it made Garp hesitate and think about what he should do now, he had trained by destroying 8 mountains. But he didn't want to capture or even kill the father of the child he saw in the ice.

When he took a closer look at the child he was astonished by how large he was, he looked at the boy's appearance and could tell he wasn't older than a couple months. But he looked monstrously powerful and large compared to any other children of his race, much less his age.

He was torn between doing his duty and finishing Don Chinjao's reign here, as that often meant death as most pirates never surrender, or pretending that he couldn't break the ice and leaving to let this father and son have some peaceful time while he was young.

He remembers when his child was born and how he would protect him with his life, he even read the report where almost 4 months ago, the Happo Navy's pirating almost completely stopped if not for a couple of supply raids.

For the first time in years, he was stumped on whether Justice or his heart should take over.

After thinking for a few minutes, he picked his nose and turned around nonchalantly spouting nonsense.

"This ice is too strong for my fists to break, even if I could, it regenerates too fast. Let's get out of here, this is a waste of time."

The surrounding Marines immediately fell in line and followed him out of the icy wasteland.

"SIR YES SIR"

POV CHANGE

Inside the Icey Cavern, Don Chinjao, his son, and his subordinates were surprised when the Marines almost immediately after arriving, and thought it was a trap. Staying in the ice for another few hours before Don Chinjao opened the ice and sent a scout out to survey the land.

After returning and confirming that the marines had left, Don Chinjao and his men exited the Cavern and noticed a lack of transportation to leave the island.

After realizing that his plan on ramming the Marines might have been a dumb decision, he looked around to see if there were any ships that might have been left behind.

And if by some stroke of luck, there was a heavily damaged Marine warship that had been abandoned because it was risky to ride it in the sea.

He ordered his men to repair it to the best of their abilities as they were only driving it a few hours to their main base to get supplies, then they would hideout and gain strength to retaliate against the Marines once their young master was grown.

As they sailed to their home base Don Chinjao looked at his sleeping son in his arms and noticed that he didn't cry a single time during their scuffle with the Marines.

"YAHAHA, my boy truly is a Conqueror, he didn't cry a single time."

As he was laughing he took a slightly serious note as he looked at his son one more time.

"Whatever you want to do in life, I'll support you, but you better the damn best there is. But I can bet you'll be a fighter, all Conquerors are. YAHAHAHA"

He looked into the setting sun and could see a silhouette of Hana walking away from him.
