Charlotte stood on the deck, observing Caesar carefully, searching for any sign of his kingly demeanor.

After a brief moment, he reached for the Gas-Gas Fruit.

"Dad, I want this one!"

Robert declared.

Charlotte nodded in acknowledgment.

Without hesitation, Robert picked up the fruit and took a bite.

Instant regret.

His face contorted as nausea hit him.

It tasted disgusting.

Every fiber of his being screamed at him to spit it out.

But—

Remembering the stories about Devil Fruits, Robert forced himself to keep eating.

Bite by bite, he swallowed the entire thing.

The next moment—

His body suddenly transformed into a gas-like state—completely out of his control.

Charlotte's instincts screamed danger.

Without hesitation, he coated his fist in Armament Haki and punched Robert on the head.

"Ow!"

Robert yelped, rubbing his head as his body snapped back into human form.

Charlotte exhaled in relief.

If Robert lost control, everyone except for Charlotte and Esdeath could be poisoned.

"Be careful!

This Gas-Gas Fruit is poisonous.

Control it well! Or you'll end up harming everyone around you."

Charlotte warned, glaring at Robert.

Feeling wronged, Robert stepped aside.

Next, Sif approached.

She didn't even glance at the other fruits.

She went straight for the Logia-type Snow-Snow Fruit and picked it up.

"Dad! I want this one!"

Sif said cheerfully.

Charlotte nodded.

But he immediately noticed something.

Eve, standing nearby, looked disappointed.

She had wanted the Snow-Snow Fruit too.

But since Sif had already chosen it…

First come, first served.

Sif took a bite.

Her face twisted from the horrible taste.

Still, she forced herself to eat the entire fruit, just like Robert.

Moments later, she felt a strange sensation in her body.

She exerted a little force—

And the temperature in the room dropped instantly.

Suddenly, Sif's entire body transformed into snow.

"Dad! Dad! Help!

I can't change back!"

A panicked voice came from the snow pile on the floor.

Charlotte chuckled, shaking his head.
