Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Releasing Linlin’s Kite

Roy gritted his teeth and endured the impact of Linlin's Conqueror's Haki, refusing to fall.

Those who possess Conqueror's Haki can instill fear, intimidate, or even knock out their enemies without lifting a finger, relying solely on their "aura."

Of course, if one's strength is strong enough, they can withstand the Conqueror's Haki even when it's unleashed.

This is why, in the original story, some enemies are able to tough it out when faced with the overwhelming presence of someone with Conqueror's Haki.

Now, Roy had defenses comparable to Charlotte Linlin herself. Though his strength was only a tenth of hers, it was enough to withstand her Conqueror's Haki.

"Samlara, give me Samlara!"

In the next moment, Linlin extended her other hand and struck down with a massive punch.

Roy withdrew his sword and retreated; Linlin's strength was too much for him.

"Boom!"

The ground cracked as Linlin's punch created a deep hole in the earth.

"Move!" Roy shouted to Gaelz behind him.

"Got it! I'll go find the nun!" Gaelz, panicking, immediately turned and ran toward the Lamb's House.

Roy glanced at the giants that Linlin had sent flying earlier. Although they were badly injured, they were young and strong, unlike the elderly giants like Yaruru and Yoruru, who couldn't take a beating. The young ones would survive without being killed instantly.

Yaruru, on the other hand, was fatally wounded and died shortly after due to his age.

"Helding!" Roy called out to the giant approaching from the distance.

"I'm coming!" Helding raised his long sword, charging at Linlin.

"..."

Roy was speechless as he dodged Linlin's attacks and stretched out a hand, pushing Helding aside.

"Boom!"

Next, Linlin punched a building, causing a massive collapse with debris raining down.

Helding, knocked over by Roy, nervously watched the scene. Thankfully, Roy had saved him.

"You weakling, you don't even have the strength to match mine. What gave you the confidence to attack Linlin?" Roy glanced at Helding sitting on the ground, mocking him.

"I, you, she..." Helding was dumbfounded by the insult and couldn't form a proper response, stuttering.

"Fine, you're strong, you're right..."

Helding glared at Roy, "Then what did you call me for?"

At this point, Linlin lost interest in the two and turned away, swinging her hands to knock out any giants trying to stop her. Buildings were being destroyed, and flames erupted everywhere.

"Linlin wants Samlara, go get it for me!" Roy shouted, continuing to run toward her.

"But today is the day of the Winter Solstice Feast!" a giant in the corner retorted. It was their tradition to observe a fasting day.

"To hell with your fasting day, I'm going now!" Helding cursed, turning and running toward the warehouse.

"Right... I'll go too!" The other giant looked at the rampaging Linlin. Rather than let their tradition be destroyed, he didn't want to witness more destruction from Linlin.

"Samlara, give me Samlara!" Linlin stood before a giant woman, raising her hand to strike.

"Linlin, don't do this, stay calm!" The woman, holding a baby named Rod, nervously retreated.

"Samlara!!!"

Linlin yelled, raising her hand to strike at the woman holding the baby.

At this moment, Linlin had completely lost her sense of awareness.

"Ahh! No!!" The woman shielded the baby with her body, turning her back to Linlin as she screamed in terror.

Roy dashed over just in time, swinging his sword toward Linlin.

"Enough, Linlin!"

"Clang—"

A massive sword appeared, and Reding, holding a giant weapon, blocked Linlin's strike.

He looked back at Roy with a confident smile. "Hey, you're my disciple, how could I let you fall in front of me?"

"Watch out!"

Before Reding could finish his boast, Roy's warning reached his ears.

"Eh?"

Reding turned to look at Linlin, his pupils narrowing in shock.

"Crack! Crack!"

Linlin grabbed the sword's blade with one hand, and with a slight twist, she snapped it in two!

The sound of metal breaking rang out, and the mighty weapon, once feared by many, was destroyed by a little girl.

The broken sword spun in the air before sinking into the ground with a dull thud.

"Run!" Roy yelled as he quickly dashed to Reding's side and swung his sword at Linlin.

"I can't let you..." Before Reding could finish, Linlin grabbed his cape and yanked him, preparing to throw him.

"Swish!"

Roy quickly sliced through Reding's cape with a sword, glancing back at him.

"Boom!"

In the next moment, Linlin punched Roy's sword, shattering it. Roy retaliated with a punch of his own.

"Shh, shh, shh!"

Though Roy wasn't hurt, the force of Linlin's punch sent him flying backward.

He crashed through a building, scattering dust everywhere.

When the smoke cleared, Roy emerged unscathed, taking a small package from his chest and carefully opening it.

"Samlara!!!" Linlin, catching the familiar scent, locked her eyes on the package Roy held.

"Here you go~" Roy waved the Samlara at her.

He had earlier found the village's Samlara stash and stolen a few pieces.

Of course, taking all of it wasn't practical.

Moreover, he needed to show the village the threat Linlin posed while controlling the extent of the damage.

The village had only sustained injuries among the younger giants, no one had died, and the damage from collapsed and burning buildings was contained to a small area.

It was just the right amount of damage.

Linlin, now in pursuit, followed Roy as he quickly retreated. She no longer cared about anyone else and stopped destroying buildings, only chasing Roy.

"Ah, Samlara!" Linlin, unable to resist, continued to chase Roy.

Roy, aware of his positioning, had been strategically knocked back toward the village's outer boundary.

The farther Linlin chased him, the more ground she had to cover before she could eat the Samlara he was holding.

"Samlara!" Linlin saw Roy fall to the ground and threw a punch.

"Listen up~" Roy held the Samlara in front of him to block her punch.

"..."

Linlin looked at the Samlara and immediately retracted her fist.

Roy, holding the Samlara, ran toward the village's outer limits.

"..."

If Linlin had her own awareness at this moment, she would have surely been furious with Roy.

Damn it, this person... he's too much!

I have also translated the short section at the end of the chapter.

Brief Introduction to the Two Female Leads (and others):

The first one is a girl from eight hundred years ago, who could be considered an "old friend" of the protagonist.

The second one, as described in the introduction, arrives in the most domineering way possible and starts to flirt with the protagonist in the same manner.

As for what will happen with Asahi, who was caught by the protagonist, what about Momozou?

What will happen?

It's simple—kill him at the source.

Of course, history will correct itself. Even if Oden marries another woman, they might still have a child named Momozou. However, the differences in time, people, and circumstances will result in a completely different person being born, even if the name remains the same.

Don't worry, the protagonist's women will always be his.

I will not write stories that hurt the protagonist or make him look weak. I am also a reader.
