One Piece: Check-in System

Chapter 20: CP0 Forced Out by the Aftermath of Battle

Hearing Jabba's taunts, Sengoku's face darkened. Though he hated to admit it, Jabba's words hit the mark. After transforming into his Buddha form, Sengoku's size became massive, enhancing his defense significantly but drastically reducing his speed. For opponents of his level, calling him a "punching bag" wasn't entirely wrong.

Thud… Thud… Thud…

Unwilling to waste words, Sengoku began striding toward Jabba. Each step he took made the Marine warship tremble, his heavy footfalls resonating like drumbeats.

In just three strides, Sengoku closed the ten-meter gap between himself and Jabba. Raising his massive, door-like palm, he swung it down toward Jabba with the force of a mountain.

Anticipating Sengoku's attack, Jabba sprang into action. Just as the giant palm descended, Jabba kicked off the ship's railing, propelling himself backward through the air.

Boom!

Rumble—CRASH!!

Sengoku's missed attack sent a shockwave blasting into the sea, carving out a massive crater with a diameter of over a hundred meters. For a moment, seawater failed to rush back into the void, leaving an empty patch of ocean visible from a distance.

Splash—SSSHHHH!!

The displaced water shot into the sky, reaching heights of several dozen meters before crashing back down in a torrent, resembling a torrential downpour. Even droplets of water stung like needles against the skin.

After retreating several meters through the air, Jabba suddenly halted midair, stamping forcefully as though there was solid ground beneath his feet. With this move, he stopped his backward momentum and reversed direction, hurtling straight back at Sengoku.

Moving as fast as a bolt of lightning, Jabba appeared above Sengoku, swinging his twin axes down with full force.

Despite his slower movements, Sengoku's reflexes remained sharp. Spotting Jabba's descent, he raised his glowing golden hand to intercept the axes.

Boom!

The two clashed—a giant golden palm meeting razor-sharp axes—resulting in an earth-shaking explosion.

RUMBLE—BOOM!!!

The force of their collision created shockwaves that radiated outward like a raging storm, shaking everything in their vicinity.

Crack—CRACK!

The energy from their clash spread through the deck of the warship, forming a web of cracks that covered nearly the entire ship. It seemed as though the vessel could fall apart at any moment.

Jabba somersaulted backward, landing gracefully on the deck, and charged back at Sengoku. This time, their fight devolved into a brutal exchange of blow-for-blow combat.

CLANG CLANG CLANG—BANG BANG!

Jabba's smaller frame allowed him to dart and leap around, his twin axes moving so fast they seemed like shadows. He relentlessly swung them in a flurry of attacks aimed at Sengoku.

Although slower, Sengoku's large hands were remarkably nimble. He intercepted Jabba's strikes with precision, his hands coated in Armament Haki to withstand the blows. Even attacks he couldn't block, he endured with his formidable Buddha defense.

The surrounding deck, railing, and even the warship's structures were obliterated by the stray shockwaves and slashes from their battle. The entire ship groaned under the stress of their fight.

[Unexpected Entrants: CP0 Appears]

As the Marine and Roger Pirate forces clashed fiercely, an errant slash from one of the combatants struck a distant Marine warship.

BOOM—RUMBLE!!

The warship was cleaved in two, immediately exploding as its gunpowder stores ignited. The chain of explosions rocked the battlefield, sending flames and smoke into the sky.

Out of the smoke and chaos emerged five figures, completely unharmed despite being at the center of the explosion. They leapt from the wreckage, their white attire and masks gleaming ominously.

Each of them wore a different mask, and their physiques varied—tall, short, lean, or bulky—but their identical uniforms indicated they belonged to the same organization.

Rayleigh, engaged in his battle with Zephyr, noticed the peculiar figures immediately. Being the seasoned warrior he was, he quickly pieced things together.

"These masked figures… Could they be the legendary CP0?" Rayleigh wondered, his mind racing.

Having sailed the seas for decades, Rayleigh was no stranger to the whispers of the World Government's elite espionage unit. While he'd encountered agents from CP1 to CP9, this was his first time seeing CP0, the shadowy upper echelon directly under the World Government's command.

Unlike CP1-9, who often operated publicly, CP0 rarely acted openly, appearing only when executing the World Government's most critical missions. Their presence here spoke volumes about the stakes of this battle.

[A Heated Exchange]

Rayleigh launched a powerful slash, forcing Zephyr to retreat. Seizing the moment, he asked, "Zephyr, are the Marines and World Government so desperate that they've even sent CP0 after us? Do they intend to leave none of us alive?"

Rayleigh's speed surpassed Zephyr's retreat, allowing him to appear behind his opponent in an instant. Swinging his sword downward, he aimed for Zephyr's unprotected back.

Zephyr, as though he had eyes on the back of his head, quickly turned, covering his arm with Armament Haki and crossing it in front of him to block the strike.

CLANG—BOOM!

Their weapons clashed with the force of a tidal wave, sending sparks flying.

Panting slightly, Zephyr responded, "I don't know why CP0 is here. They were likely dispatched by the World Government in secret!"

His words carried no deceit—CP0's appearance was as much a surprise to him as it was to the pirates.

Rayleigh narrowed his eyes, piecing things together. "So, the Marines are just one of the weapons the World Government sent after us. The real threat was always the World Government itself…"

He thought back to the Roger Pirates' recent return from Laugh Tale. It was no coincidence the World Government wanted them erased, and CP0's presence only confirmed their suspicions.

"What a cunning ploy," Rayleigh muttered. "The Government wanted to wait until we and the Marines were both exhausted, only to strike from the shadows. Too bad their plans were foiled by a stray slash."

His smirk widened. "Even fate itself won't let you play dirty, World Government!"
